I bought the property with the intention to expand it and consolidate the space into a townhouse. The market fell and I managed it as yearly rental for a while. Recently I decided to try VRBO so I restored and furnished one half for vacation rental. If this works out, I will remodel the other side which has a wonderful garden space.
James Holley purchased this apartment in 2004
I fell in love with West Palm Beach and as a native Floridian I know the whole State very well. I think this location is just about ideal. It feels very much like old town Key West. The experience here is Florida the way it used to be. I should mention that the train comes through all the historic districts in this area and it does come through during the night but folks generally don't mind.
As I have pointed out, the location is outstanding. Now that they are building a brand new Hilton hotel 2 blocks away it just made sense to offer an affordable alternative for vacationers and people attending events at the Convention Center. With this apartment, I have tried to make it feel just the way it would have in 1948 when it was built. I am a professional decorator and decided to go with an Old Florida theme.
We enjoyed staying here very much. James is a great owner and host. He went beyond the call to ensure that our stay was very enjoyable and worry free. We highly recommend this property!
We've been on holidays , the house we liked a lot and it was very comfortable for my best friend and I, we had everything we need, bicycles, pots, television, etc. James was always very kind to us, he helped us the first day we arrived to locate us in the area also he helped to lower the seats of the bikes he provide us and every time we needed help, he always came to help. I will definetly recommend this house , it's near to the bus stop, the city place mall and a lot of shops near the house.
This was a great place! Loved the location and convenience. You can walk everywhere! Checking in and out was easy - no complaints! I will definitely be back!
The property was located in a quiet and well kept neighborhood. The owner was very accommodating. I would recommend if you are looking to get away for a period of time.
We are just home from a very comfortable stay at perfectly located home in the artistic district of Grandview Heights. The first 4 days was a getaway for my wife and I and remaining 6 for a conference at the Convention Center - literally 4 minute walk away.
The value was simply all there and more for the price we paid. From arrival to departure - the owners were extremely accommodating too - helping with local info, insights as well as providing bikes for a little tour (there are sand mats on top of washer and dryer)
For those who have any noise concerns for the local train that passes through out day and night - we can attest that first night was only night that we heard it - remaining nights it did not affect us or sleep.
For local breakfast/coffee - Panera Breads was great (in city place - 7 minute walk). Publix also close by for groceries. - 10 minute walk. Also had great dining out experiences at Bucaan on Palm Beach island and Brio and Cheese Cake Factory in City Place. For car rental - Enterprise is about 10 minute walk down the road.
If you have time - and like sculptures and rare species palm trees - swing by Ann Norton Garden Sculptures.
Thank you to the owners for offering this great retreat for us to enjoy the wonderful sites of West Palm Beach.
Great location as it is walking distance from many desirable locations including City Place & the Palm Beach Convention Center
