Apartment tucked away near the bottom of many stairs, close to train station
Ugo, our host, was extremely helpful, meeting us at the train station, and accompanying us on the Funicula to the apartment, which he recommended because otherwise carrying our luggage up all those stairs would be very challenging. He also called the cab company to get information for us about getting to the airport for our flight out. He had plenty of restaurant recommendations. We especially liked Farinata, an informal local eatery, with its pots of basil on the tables.
The apartment is in a charming neighborhood, very conveniently located, and on the ground floor. Be aware, however, that getting to and from the apartment means walking up, or down, quite a few stairs. Only the fit need apply...
The apartment was adequately furnished for our needs, with two bedrooms and one bath. It would work well for two couples, for friends traveling together, or for a family.
We had a very early flight out to Paris, and ended up walking to the train station at 5 am (allow about 10 minutes). We found a waiting cab immediately that got us to the airport in time for our 7:15 am flight.
Captured the spirt of Genoa
Captured the spirt of Genoa100%, was vvery safe and Ugo was very accommodating and helpful.
The apartment was very nice and my daugther and I were very happy here.
Wonderful and comfortable two-bedroom apartment in the historical centre of Genova.
We spent the month of July in this great apartment known in Italian as Casetta Rossa (Little Red House). The apartment is functional (fast wifi connection) and has many amenities (washer, fans, microwave). The open space kitchen makes it a welcoming retreat after a long day out walking around Genova or nearby cities, or just hanging out with friends. During my stay I had several Italian friends visit and they were all very impressed with the apartment. The location is perfect close to the train station, center and port but in a safe and historical area of Genova. Ugo (the owner) is very helpful and always happy to share with you tips about the local scene (restaurants, happy hour bars, local beaches, etc). I truly enjoyed my stay and would certainly recommend (and return to) Casetta Rossa.
We lived a month in this nice little apartment. Its location is very central, close to all the interesting buildings and musea you want to see. Also close to the trainstation so you can easily visit the nice villages nearby. Nice and helpful owners. We absolutely recommend it!
Grazie mille Ugo e tanti saluti
