About Maria Cristina Arena

Hi Everyone,

my name is Maria Cristina but everyone calls me Cristina since 1983 when I was born in Rome. I grew up in Rome and I really love my eternal city.

I'm an experienced host and I've always wanted to share all my knowledge about this wonderful city with people around me especially to those who visit it for the first time.

In my life I have always been involved into some touristic jobs because I love travelling.

I studied languages at school and I travelled a lot all around the world to improve my English. I thank my American family for helping me!

I started my working life being a cabin crew member for Alitalia and continued working on touristic "hop-on hop-off" double decker touristic buses in Rome.

My love and passion for this particular job blossomed after working like a receptionist in a famous Roman Hotel.

I decided to start my own job and being "the boss of myself" with my two apartments.

What is different? I'm not an agency, I'm a private owner and for me it's very important to get better each day of my life.

I started renting my apartments in 2006 and after over 10 years I can say I'm very satisfied and proud to manage my properties with love and care like a pro.

I met so many people from all around the world and I learned a lot for each one of them. Every single feedback from you is important! Every suggestion, tip or help is really appreciated!

I know how much important is for my guests to feel themselves at home when away from their country and I will always try my best to leave a memorable memory of my Rome!

I will be available for you night and day and of course I will be glad to host you in my apartments!

Feel free to write me all your questions or requests!

Take care,

I want to live here!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures do not do it justice. This apartment is perfect. We enjoyed our time here greatly. I found myself wishing that I had more time so that I could take a day to just sit on the glorious balconies. I was sad to leave Rome chiefly because I was sad to leave this apartment.

The kitchen is nice and has all the modern conveniences.

The living room was great and the kids were even able to watch movies provided by the owner.

The bathroom was large and clean.

The bedrooms are huge with a large closet to put all the stuff we had.

Cristina was a very gracious hostess, meeting us at arrival and giving me the feeling that she genuinely wanted us to feel comfortable in her place. We had no problems with anything during our time in Rome, but I felt that if we had any trouble, I could have called Cristina and she would have been glad to help. She offered to arrange for a driver to meet us at the airport, and it was SO nice to not have to worry about public transit or finding a cab.

The apartment was clean, comfortable and very well-equipped. There was nothing that we needed that wasn't there for us. The high-speed internet was very useful when making our reservations for museums. We were able to walk or take the bus anywhere we wanted to go, and were happy to return each night to our quiet apartment for a restful nights' sleep.

I hope to have the opportunity to go back and will definitely recommend the place to my friends.

Thank you Cristina!!!

Perfect Roma vacation in a perfect neighborhood!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just returned from our Rome vacation and were thrilled with our stay in Cristina's lovely apartment. The building and neighborhood are perfect...quiet, no street noise at night, great markets, incredible trattorias nearby, walkable to all the major sites in the ancient center of Rome, and tucked between The Vatican Museums and San Pietro Basilica. The photos and descriptions are accurate, but the apartment is even nicer than the photos convey. We were surprised how quiet it was at the apartment, it was hard to believe we were in the centre of a major city. There was enough storage for several guests, and the bed was gloriously comfortable. We loved our week in Rome, it was wonderful to visit the Vatican Museums, the Coliseum and other well known tourist sites, it was also a joy to discover hidden treasures such as the world's largest Etruscan collection! From our first contact with Cristina, months before our visit, she was gracious, responsive to all of our questions, and very helpful with tips for public transportation and airport bus service for a convenient price. The kitchen was well equipped for all our needs, including a washing machine that allowed us to pack light. Everything worked including an excellent wifi service and the apartment was really clean. Couldn't have wished for a better appartment in a most accessible location! All in all a fabulous first visit to Rome! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends!

Roman Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Cristina is prompt, professional and proficient. She is a pleasure to deal with. The apartment is very large and very well laid out. The living room is large and can accommodate extra adults with privacy. I understand the bathroom is being upgraded currently. You are about 15 minutes by foot from the Vatican and the area is extremely well connected by an efficient bus system. Metro not convenient but not essential either. The area has all necessary services but is rather busy and bustling. There is noise from the street, but then again, must of Rome is rather noisy. I short, a lovely experience and hope to repeat next year. Thank you Cristina.

Owner's Response: Thanks a lot Maurizio, I'll be more then happy to welcome you again next year. Currently June 2014, we are renewing the bathroom so pictures of the brand new bathroom will be shown soon (after September 2014). I agree with you about the Metro, it is not essential for Rome since the bus system around the apartment allows you to reach every part of the city and San Pietro Basilica is a short walk away. About the street noise, as you know it is all about from 16:30 to 17:00 when young children get off school, which is in front of the apartment. The small playground in front of the apartment during spring and summer time is full of playing kids which lighten up our days. Usually when windows are closed during winter and fall time, noise is almost non-existent. Thanks a lot again. Cristina
