About Marilyn Blackburn

We have always lived with an hour of this cabin, and have a love for the Granite Falls area. We are a mother/daughter team and this is our second cabin in the area and it's been a joy fixing it up and making a pleasant retreat for people! We hope you come and spend a couple days taking in all that Granite Falls and River's Edge Cabin have to offer! You will never forget it!

Marilyn Blackburn purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Marilyn Blackburn chose Washington State

We have another larger cabin nearby and people love staying in a cute place on the river, so when the chance came to purchase this one we were excited to be able to offer another charming cabin on the river!

What makes this cabin unique

We love Granite Falls because of it's location up against the mountains, for the beautiful river, all the wonderful hiking trail, fishing, mountain activities that are there. It doesn't get any prettier than here!

Cozy Cabin overlooking river

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was beautiful and cozy overlooking a small river. The area is lovely with the sound of the river and the patch of wild flowers makes for great photos. There is a fire pit that has a great view of the river. We enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to the river while we ate dinner or just sat outside enjoying the natural setting. Our corgi enjoyed sniffing around the area and rolling in the grass. It was a great visit and we would go back again.

Absolutely perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at the cabin in the early evening, with plenty of time to explore. The yard is gorgeous, with well-maintained grass, wild flowers, and wild berries growing everywhere. There is a sturdy ladder leading down to the river, where we got to watch a mama duck and her ten babies swim upstream every evening.

The interior of the cabin was very clean and had everything we needed - including coffee, which we always seem to forget! Three of us stayed in the cabin; it was definitely cozy, but it was so nice out, that we didn't spend much time inside anyway.

I would absolutely recommend the property and we hope to visit again soon.

Cozy house in amazing location.

The rivers edge cabin was the perfect place for my wife and I to stay. It is right next to some gorgeous hikes, and has all the comforts of home after a long day outside.

Marylin was easily accessible and friendly when we had questions. I would definitely recommend this place for couples, or a small family.

It was a very nice stay

  • 4 of 5

We spent nine beautiful days at the cabin and had a very nice stay. The cabin was very well supplied with our every need. My only wish is that there be a way to get down to the from the bank so I could fish. Other than that it was great.

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for the thoughts about the river access. I am having the handyman put some steps or a ladder down there to make it easier this weekend! Hope you can visit again sometime! Marilyn

Peace, quiet, amazing river frontage, cute.

This is great for a weekend stay for solitude and quiet. We wound up being here 3 weeks due to construction on our house. The pro's are listed in the title and it is perfect for 2 people who want to escape. I recommend using the hot water (shower) in the afternoon/evening when there is likely to be more. Also could use some new bedding. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and it is just a few steps from the river which you can peacefully hear in the background at night. The owner is very nice and responsive as we locked ourselves out! There is internet connection but no TV and no phone connection, so it truly is an unplugged lovely escape. There is a housephone for emergencies. We were never disturbed by any neighbors or anyone else. Lots of hikes in the area of varying degrees. Grounds and house are neat and clean, fully equipped. We are happy we chose this over a hotel!
