Carson Chalets at Lake Almanor

CHALET A

Lake views from almost every room!

These quaint upscale 'A' frames have windows from floor to ceiling and an open loft. There is a full kitchen and the living room flows out to the deck for easy access to the BBQ and lounge chairs for looking out at the lake. A queen size bed is in the main level bedroom and upstairs there are 2 twins in one room and a double bed in the loft creating great sleeping accommodations.

All units are immaculately maintained and have cental heat and air.

One large and two small chalets available for families, friends, and co-workers who want to vacation together but like the privacy of separate units.

They are available year round - *rent one, two or all three.* Decks have great views of the lake and Dyer Mountain and are perfect for barbecuing.

300 ft to the lake, lawn and beach area.

Boat slip and trailer parking are included at no additional charge or walk to the launch area and rent a boat or jet ski. Bailey Creek golf course is just minutes away.

Located on a private road just outside the country club gate on Peninsula Drive.

The Peninsula Market just down the street has hundreds of wines in many vintages. Perfect for picking up any grocery item including a great selection of gourmet foods. Many restaurants are close and convenient, don't miss taking your boat across the lake to Plumas Pines Restaurant for patio dining on the deck overlooking the lake.

Rent just this one or combine all 3 for groups up to 22 people.

About Kim Carson

We are a simple family who want to share the place we love with families so they can create forever memories

Why Kim Carson chose Lake Almanor

We fell in love with these places from the moment we saw them. It was March and we walked up the stairs, into the chalet and the biggest snowflakes ever started to fall.

What makes this chalet unique

Walk to the lake 24/7 Just when you think you have seen back and you'll see something else. A magical lakefront

quaint and clean

  • 4 of 5

The chalet was just the right size for us and the beach was nice. If we had a boat the boat slip was perfect. Everything was labelled and easy to find

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

Love the cottages and location near the water. Great that a boat slip is also included. Walk across the street to get a burger or milk shake. Great spot for kids and adults.

Peaceful and Serene

  • 4 of 5

I actually won a weekend at the lodge in a raffle. It was money well spent (for a good cause, I mgiht add). I took the weekend in the off season. It was cool and rainy. It was wonderful. Quiet. Calming. Just what I needed during a very stressful time of the year for me. I can clearly see how in the summer it would be fun too with the lake so close. The chalet was cute, tasteful, cozy and VERY clean!! Kim, the owner, was very helpful and kind. She let us stay late because we did not arrive until late. Thank you!! would like to go back. It wouold be great to rent the whole property and have a big group of family and/or friends along!

Fun reunion...BUT....

  • 3 of 5

We had a fun reunion at the Carson Chalets but.....new visitors should be aware that the carpets are filthy dirty. ( Don't let your babies crawl on them) and the owners are hard to get a hold of and hard to work with. Good luck if you choose this vacation destination.

Owner's Response: Fortunately, we have only had to withhold a deposit for damages twice in over 10 years. Most people are responsible renters and don't allow their toddlers to pull the shingles off the roof, shove toys and the wood down the septic pipe and spill cake decorating glitter and goo all over the carpets and patio. This group was disrespectful from the moment they arrived when their adult children had a total disregard for the neighbor’s property and drove their truck through their yard to launch the jet skis then filled them at the shore spilling gas in the lake. I don’t think the residents of Lake Almanor are eager to have them back in any rental. Our check in time is 3 pm. These people showed up 2 hours early and began unloading before the cleaners were finished. The previous group had checked out at 11am so the chicken that they claim was in there for days, could not have been. The carpet has been a challenge to keep clean but the review failed to mention that the carpet was being cleaned as they arrived. The blacktop gets tracked in if people allow their children to run in and out of the house barefoot. During the summer months it is cleaned weekly between guests. We did respond to all 27 emails sent by this family prior to their arrival. If you are looking for a rental where the owners have a higher expectation and don’t allow people to trash their lakefront homes, then please call us to confirm a reservation. We would love to have you stay with us…..the Carsons
