Great location for a weekend getaway to Stratton! A lovely little place!
A great place to retreat to after a long day on the slopes. It’s located just off the mountain, and the area is nice and quiet. The hosts were lovely! Thanks again for a great stay!
Perfect for a ski weekend
Great access to Stratton, and a very comfortable lodge to return to at the end of each day. Would definitely recommend, and would book again any time I'm back at Stratton!
Very homey place a short distance from Stratton
the house was very quaint, in a small neighborhood with all the homes looking the same. House was clean and the temperature was set nice and warm for our arrival. There was lots of wood for us to start a nice fire in the wood burning stove. Every room including the bathrooms had their own thermostats which was nice since we all liked different temperatures. The loft had the futons, but it was not private at all and you would have to go down two flights to go to the bathrooms. It would be great for kids but not adults. The only thing I minded was that the refrigerator and freezer were not empty, so we had to throw some stuff out and bag other things incase they were the owner's. Also, the shower caddies were filled with shampoos and used soaps so there was no room for ours. We even found things in the dryer that we had to stuff in the owner's closet. There is small pantry in the kitchen, but it was also full of food, so we didn't have much room to put our things in there. The kitchen is ok stocked, but in need of a soup ladle and some salad/fruit bowls. There is a drip coffee maker, a Kuerig, a toaster and a microwave. Other then that no other small appliances. There was a grill on the balcony which we didn't get to use since it was covered with snow. The beds were all very comfortable and the house/neighborhood was very quite. The snow plow came to plow the parking area and garbage gets picked up every day. Overall it was a very nice and comfortable place.
Cozy, Inviting, and Well Maintained
My friends and I really enjoyed the stay, the setup of the house was exactly what we were hoping for and the location doesn't get any better. Thankfully there was still plenty of snow on the mountain, too! Would definitely make a return trip sometime in the future as well as recommend friends. Take care!
A cosy chalet convenient to Stratton mt
Tim and Mary's ski chalet resides amongst a cluster of identical purpose-built holiday homes about 7 minutes from Stratton mountain.
The property was exactly as described. As seen on the photos, the 3 bedrooms are small, but sufficient for a short stay. We did not utilize the 'den' above the living area as our eldest son is 9 and he did not feel comfortable up there on his own. Also the open stairs lack a handrail which made it tricky for the kids to navigate without the occasional fall (particularly for a midnight bathroom visit 2 floors down!). However, the lower bunk was big enough to squeeze the twins in so we were all accommodated!
There are 2 small bathrooms on the lower floor adjacent to the bedrooms. One doubles as the laundry room, which is tight, but functional. The other has had a new vanity, but otherwise the fixtures are all original to the home.
The living area is great and accommodated 6 of us well. The TV options are good with an apple TV and a basic cable package. Wi-Fi worked great.
The kitchen is well appointed and surprisingly stocked with useful basic items you always forget to bring, like condiments, coffee filters etc. Nice touch!
There are useful stores, restaurants and a lovely pub nearby, so everything is in reach.
Tim and Mary were very helpful and communicative throughout.. great hosts!
In summary, for the price, this chalet provided us exactly what we were looking for on our short stay in Vermont, and so is worthy of a 5-star review.
