About Jill Tyler
We live an hour away and we wanted a place to take our pets on vacation with us. We love the outdoors and camp often. We decided to build a vacation home.
Jill Tyler purchased this Cabin in 2011
Why Jill Tyler chose Stony Creek
A few years ago we were looking for a place that was quiet but near a lot of activities. We saw this property while we were 4wheeling and it was perfect. We will still be reserving this log cabin for a few weeks a year so we can have some fun too!
What makes this Cabin unique
We loved the views from the house, the beautiful creek, the already groomed road that runs the whole length of the property. We love the outdoor fire pit and sitting around the fire at night or when it is cold the indoor wood stove.

A beautiful ski weekend
I absolutely loved my stay at this property. It was quiet except for the peaceful sound of the running stream. We cross country skied up an old logging road on the property to where it connects to a snowmobile trail then skied over to Tavern 16 about 1.5 Miles away. If you take the trail in the opposite direction you can ski to the 1000 acre ranch about 3 miles away. (We skied about halfway there). The property is about 20 minutes away from downhill skiing at Hickory Hill and 45 minutes from Gore Mtn there is also a groom cross country ski center in North Creek called Garnet Hill. Everything in the cabin is well kept. I would definitely return next winter!
We stayed in this rustic getaway between Christmas and New Year to experience Gore mountain and the cabin life during one of the coldest period of the year. It was everything a log cabin retreat should be and then some!! Secluded, rustic, peaceful and yet...it had every comfort our everyday lives had become accustomed to. The scenery in the area, and right out our windows, took us away from the hustle-bustle just like we had hoped it would. Snow on the pine trees and deer tracks everywhere....Beautiful!!!
Jill was a blessing, handling everything we needed before we ever got there and answered every question we had about the area with a smile. She turned what could have been a tough trip into a rustic adventure full of fond memories and adventure!
Definitely coming back to this area again to explore even more.
Great cabin nestled in the woods.
Very clean, accommodating and welcoming. I would definitely stay there again. In fact it makes me want to build my own cabin.
Secluded setting and immaculate house
Very, very private. Setting is beautiful, especially the brook and waterfalls running through the property. The house was immaculate and everything worked. Jill the manager was also very accessible. A perfect Southern Adirondack retreat and convenient to Saratoga. Five stars.
We reserved the cabin for Mid July. Jill answered all of our questions quickly and was very informative. She met us at the entrance and showed us around the cabin. To say the least it was absolutely beautiful. We all loved the look and the sound of the brook that runs behind the house. Fishing was great and Jill gave us the tips we needed to catch plenty. The area is peaceful and quiet. Only the rushing water and the wildlife is all you hear. My two young boys said it was the best vacation they ever had. Which to me is priceless!!! Also there is plenty of activities to do in the area. The kids loved the caves and the fishing. We planed on going to Lake George for a day, but decided to stay on the property for the day, which was a great choice! We will be coming back and hope to make this a yearly tradition.
Sanctuary in the woods!
Three words to describe our experience: Exciting. Adventurous. Cozy.
This cabin in the woods (no relation to the movie) was exactly what we needed to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. We were a family of 7 looking for a weekend getaway, and we got way more than we bargained for.
Unlike many other cabin visits, this place is truly isolated. We met Jill, the property manager, after driving through torrential rain to find the place. They weren't kidding about losing all phone service so be prepared to look out for landmarks. Once we got there, she gave us a quick tour of our inviting home–the photos definitely don't do the place justice. It was either recently built or recently renovated, but the place was sparkling clean and all-inclusive; everything we needed was there. The outdoor deck and floor-to-ceiling living room windows offer a fantastic view of the woods and the stream/waterfalls below, the sounds of which was extremely calming. The tall windows bathe the room in plenty of sunlight.
Every utensil we needed, pots and pans, a couple of cooking items in the pantry, a wood stove with some wood, washer and dryer with detergent, an outdoor grill and campfire, comfy beds with extra bedding, and TV were there. Being an avid tea drinker, I was particularly excited about the set of tea cups and saucers made available to us.
The cabin was surrounded by the woods; one morning, we ventured down the trail on a quest to break the city-kid stereotype. The waterfalls were quite pleasant, and we saw some wildlife while there.
There is also a separate small cabin that had similar amenities minus the toilet, but was equally cozy. Another plus is that the cabin is a short drive away from Lake George–perfect to spend the afternoon, but just far enough to have your own space.
Highly recommend this place for a family trip–will definitely come back again.
