Amazing View!

  • 5 of 5

I have to say, after reading some of the reviews.... I think those people need to stay at the Holiday Inn. This place is breathtaking! It is a cabin, so yes there are a few bugs, etc... Nothing a shoe doesn't fix. This place is very clean, he gives you plenty of glasses, silverware, pots, pans, and so on. My 2 kids and I stayed here and absolutely loved it. There is so much to do just in the cabin. Response time to my questions was great. Service was great. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone that is looking for a partially secluded, beautiful place to go!

Enjoyable Cabin

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time in this cabin. It is spacious and comfortable for our family. There was enough linen, beds were comfortable, sheets smelled clean. I would probably come back again. Kitchen was well stocked and overall it was great. Kids had a great time playing in the game room. Hockey table needs some repair but it was usable. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Best Trip Ever!

  • 4 of 5

My family rented this cabin for a 50th surprise birthday trip for my mother-in-law. There were 11 of us total, ranging in age from 11 months to 60 years. We all had a wonderful time. We have stayed in MANY cabins over the years and this was one of the nicest. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and do different things and not get on each others nerves. Was this cabin perfect? No, but it had something for everyone. My 7 year old son was completely content spending all his time at the cabin. When we were down in Pigeon Forge ridging go-karts and such, he wanted to go back to the cabin and hang out. Ignore the bad reviews...some people cannot be pleased. It's not a 5 star resort, it's a log cabin in the mountains and it's a perfect place to spend time with family. With that being said, bring an extra pillow and an extra blanket and maybe a few extra towels. We had no problem cooking with the provided cookwear and utensils and was actually surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was compared to other cabins we have stayed at in the past. We definitely plan to return to this cabin in the future.

Nice View, Needs Some Work, Not Worth What We Paid

  • 3 of 5

Stayed in this cabin with our daughters and their significant others...total of six adults for Thanksgiving Holiday Vacation 5 nights. Convenient location to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg (as I write this I am sickened by the terrible fires that devastated that area yesterday/today.... So sad... We were just there...it was so beautiful).

The cabin itself is large. The dining table is nice and the fireplace is beautiful. The decor is cute in the living room.

Now for the negatives....the kitchen needs remodeled....from cabinets to appliances to countertops. The bakeware is nasty...I went to the Dollar Tree and bought foil pans to bake in. Thankfully I had read reviews and bought my own skillet and saucepans...stainless steel because...yes indeed this cabin's are too bad to use....unless you don't mind Teflon possibly flaking off in your food. His plates, cups, silverware and glasses are nice.

BEWARE if you are taking children to this cabin especially. The owner has the hot water heater set on the highest setting. We burnt ourselves several times just washing our hands.

The pillows are flat...we took our own...I had read the reviews. The beds are comfortable though. Lots of ladybugs dead and alive everywhere. Windows dirty which was a shame...took away from the beautiful view.

The pool table had no chalk, the air hockey table was broken -- one side doesn't keep score and air doesn't really work well, the dart board doesn't keep score well...all darts were broken anyway....we went to Walmart and bought darts and chalk but when we left we took the darts and chalk we bought with us. (sorry)

All in all we had a great vacation because we were together. We tried our best to overlook the cabin's shortcomings although for me it was more upsetting as I don't feel it was worth what I paid.

The Alpine Coaster on Wears Valley Rd is a must do for families. Go to the Apple Barn and pick up a loaf of apple walnut bread to enjoy for breakfast. If you want to make your man happy drop him off at the tool store across from Old Time Pottery....mine spent almost two hours in there. Have a great trip no matter where you stay! This area has a lot to offer...

Owner's Response: I'm sure everybody would like to remodel their kitchen. The counter tops, cabinets and appliances are all in good condition and in working order. No one has ever complained that the counter tops, cabinets and appliances needed to be replaced. That's ridiculous. the bakeware is not nasty and the teflon does not flake off in your food. As stated the plates, silverware and glassware are all mine. Most people know now to adjust their facets and water temp to the level they feel comfortable with. As for the pillow being flat it really depends on what type you like. The pool table has chalk and it was in the closet and the air hockey table was not broken. The dart board keeps score if it's turned on properly. Finally, the cabin was left in a horrible condition which required a deep cleaning and extra cost.

Pleasant. Overrun with ladybugs. Needed a better broom.

  • 3 of 5

Cabin was nice but a little dirty. Needed upgrade on pans, kitchen rugs, towels and pillows. House was spacious and decorations were nice. Driveway to the house was pretty rough and parking area was kind of steep but once you got to the top it was okay. Room enough for 12 of us.
