I could not recommend this place more highly. It is beautifully decorated spacious and clean. It's a great location. It feels very safe and is very quite. It is located a few minutes walk from pão de açucar and about 20 minutes walk to copacabana. The cleaner was there to meet us and showed us the house. Was very easy to organise everything and contact was very prompt. We even mucked up the check out time and we were very well accommodated. We had seven adults and two babies and there was more than enough space. Two of the rooms are separate from the main house and separate from each other which was great for us. One of the best places I've stayed in will definitely go back if you are thinking of rio stay here.

Wonderful home, very centrally located in a great neighborhood. Urca feels like a seaside European village, I felt safe walking to the grocery store and local bars and loved how close it was to everything. Enjoyed waking up and running around the bay in the mornings. The house is clean & very comfortable, single-story and looks like it has been recently remodeled. The kitchen was great and I cooked several meals there. The location is spectacular -- 2 short blocks and you are overlooking the bay and Christ the Redeemer, as well as Sugar Loaf, and Praia Vermelha - a wonderful private beach with Paddle boarding and a nice restaurant with beautiful patio views of Sugar Loaf.

Urca feels like a small village without staying far from Rio's Center or Copacabana. Casual enough for everyday Cariocas (Rio’s native residents) and cool enough for celebrities to call home, With breathtaking views from its boardwalk. Revered for its small village feel and center city proximity, the neighborhood boasts the best of urban living coupled with suburban-style serenity. Considered the most safe and charming neighborhood of the southern area of Rio de Janeiro.
Best place to stay in Rio ever!
Excellent place, close to the major atractions. The house is brand new, clean and beautiful. Plenty of transportation, safe neighbourhood.
We booked this accommodation for our family of nine, to attend our son's wedding in Rio, our stay was from 21/11/2015 to 5/12/2015. We had arranged with the owner , for my son who lives in Rio to pick up the keys from the owners agent early, to ensure a smooth check in arranged for 9.00pm local time. This turned into a fiasco, as the agent didn't answer the phone, the owner gave us a different address to pick up the keys from, which our Brazilian local taxi driver couldn't find. Eventually the agents husband brought the keys, and just handed them to us. So no check in, the house was beautiful, but not clean, the Television didn't work, and two of the bedrooms were actually desperate studio's, not part of the house. Reported all this immediately to the owner, who did apologise and said a replacement television would be there next day. It arrived three days later. In the interest of peace and a happy holiday we just got on with it. Urca is a beautiful safe area, the local people were friendly and helpful. Transport excellent, especially taxis, all metered and accessible, never got ripped off. Supermarkets, bars and restaurants all good. Views were fabulous Sugar Loaf mountain at the top of the street and a beautiful harbour. All went well until 3 days before we were due to leave, when the owner e-mailed to say we had to vacate the two studio's on 4/12/2015, as his next guests were arriving on that date. There had been a question about the dates before I actually booked, but the owner assured me the dates I'd requested were good as he had contacted the next guests and they had changed their dates to accommodate our booking, which was until 5/12/2015. The result of what became a dispute was , two of our group had to sleep in the living room( no beds) and two stayed with my son in Rio. The owner offered a refund for the last night, to which I agreed, again for peace sake and not to ruin our trip. On our return to the UK I contacted the owner re:- the refund and security deposit, which had been paid in full on booking. His response was that he'd reviewed his decision and would not give the refund or the deposit, as on the say so of the agent several items in the house were left broken, and I quote" 700.00 dollars " to replace the television, which was broke on our arrival. I totally refute that anything other than one glass bowl was broken, the owner misled us from the start, and his agent gave poor service. Dreadful experience, would notot recommend.
Urca is a lovely and safe neighborhood- a truly hidden gem! I stayed in this lovely house for a month and love every minute of it. The house was very recently remodeled and everything is new and comfortable. I enjoyed how spacious the room and bathrooms were as well as the front yard, where you can relax on the hammock or enjoy coffee, drinks or a BBQ with friends or family. It is easy to get around on public transportation as the bus stop is close by, as well as a bike rental place. I also enjoyed going out on runs or walks and checked out the panoramic views on the board towards Botafogo as well as runs on the Morro da Urca park ( they were truly breath taking). It is also walking distance to Sugar Loaf one of the most amazing views of Rio as well Praia Vermelha Beach (were you can rent kayaks and paddle boards or just lay down and enjoy the sun. I loved walking to the restaurant and sit there and enjoy the view of the beach and Sugar Loaf. The house is walking distance to banks, the Rio Sul Mall, grocery stores ( Zona Sul Market was my favorite) and bay front bars and restaurants where you can eat and drink like the locals and enjoy the best views of the city as well as the Christ!
