About Property Manager

I am from Detroit and moved to the desert of Arizona in 1969. To escape this heat my husband and I built a cabin in Pinetop AZ. Because it was so often rented out we decided to build another so we'd have a place to stay. The first was in the heart of Pinetop so we built this one out in the middle of the National Forest. It has a totally different feel and atmosphere. Both are equally enjoyable but for different reasons.

Property Manager purchased this cabin in 2011

Beautiful & Serene

  • 5 of 5

The front porch looking out into the National Forest was my go to place for morning coffee & evening wine. Mary has the magic touch when it comes to decorating. Everything in the cabin reminds one that you are here in the forest. Loved my stay & hope to be back next year. Thanks so much for sharing this special place!!!

Loved it! The forest decor is so much fun!

  • 5 of 5

There is not one thing we would change about this cabin! The front porch of this "gem" looks out on a beautiful forest. You feel like you are in a secluded area, even though there are other houses in this area. Mary, the owner, is one of the nicest people we have ever dealt with, and she made sure we had a wonderful trip. We will come back to this cabin in the pines again!

The cabin was clean, comfortable and cool in the evenings. We felt that it was quiet and serene.

Cabin is well maintained and nicely decorated. Front and back porches were readily used in the morning and evening. Pretty setting in the tall pines with national forest laid out in front of cabin. Wildlife an added treat for fun and observation from front porch. Would highly recommend for those looking for a quiet spot in the tall pines to unwind and relax.

Owner's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the home & environment. Being right up against the National Forest is a godsend. We keep the windows open all evening & throughout the night which cools it down for most of the day. When it gets a bit warm we sit out on the covered front porch, which is completely shaded by the enormous trees. Once the monsoons kick in, a cool breeze blows through the house, keeping it very comfortable. That all being said, we may revisit the idea of an AC unit in the near future for those who cannot live without it, even though we & our long time summer guests have never needed it.

The perfect place to kick back and relax

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this place is top notch, from the location (10 minutes from Pinetop on a very quiet road adjacent to a national forest) to the accommodations (big comfortable beds, relaxing front porch, full kitchen, cozy living room). It is a great place to get away, yet still have the amenities of wi-fi and satellite tv. Have to admit, between walks, sleeping and reading, we didn't watch much tv. Everything in the place echoes the forest, from the silverware with pine cone accents and plates with moose profiles to the carved wood bears and ducks throughout the cabin. The manager is great...kept me informed about the reservations and gave us clear directions on how to get there and get the cabin up and running (and closed down when we left). It was a welcome relief from the heat of Phoenix...about 30 degrees difference. This place (and Mary, the manager) is a real gem. Hope to be able to come up next year for a longer stay.

Owner's Response: I am so thrilled you & your folks enjoyed your stay, the home & the surrounding area. It's the perfect place to unwind, relax, and escape the desert heat. I would love to have you back next summer so keep an eye on the calendar as I unblock it for next year!

A slice of heaven

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful home with everything you could need. The decor is charming and I still think Mary is an interior decorator tho she denies it. The house is at the end of a road facing forest. It is so quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed feeding the squirrels and stellar blue jays. Mary checked in to make sure we had everything we needed which wasn't necessary. She is a delightful woman to work with and we hope to come back. I am recommending this home to my mother to come use. You wont be disappointed.
