Great lot, great views, privacy, & good location.
Great location and proximity to everything outdoors. Skiing, Biking, Fishing, Hiking, Kayaking/Canoeing, Hunting, you name it. Its there.
We had a blast at Chateau Woodrow. Thanks for letting us stay there. Great accomodations. Loved the yard, Direct TV, the deck, and location to everything in the area was perfect too. Hope to come back soon.
We stayed for 3 nights & skied snowshoe. Easy drive to the mountain. We enjoyed making a fire each night. The cabin is very well appointed with nice beds & great tvs. Place was nice & warm though it was sub zero outside. Loved the peaceful setting. My husband & I can't wait to come back! Highly recommend this place for price & location!
Absolutely incredible place. The cabin was very clean, looks brand new, and the location has great views. Perfect place to get away with family or friends. Highly recommend it. If the owner buys a hot-tub, we'll be back as much as possible! Thanks again! (Wi-Fi is weak but I'm not sure how much stronger it could be because of the isolated location)
We rented this house for a fall hiking weekend. The house is very pretty and the views from the wrap-around porch are spectacular. We had fun stargazing at night and admiring the mountains during the day. There is no cell phone service in the area, but the house has wifi (and a land line) so we could still text and email. The house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms and was big enough for our group of six adults.
We enjoyed our stay at Chateau Woodrow. The house is located in a great spot accessible to National Forest. We enjoyed the property. The only down side of our stay was the basement of this house. It should be a basement and nothing else. I feel like it was advertised as more living space, when in reality it was just a basement, cement blocks and all. The rest of the house was lovely and the deck outside was nice too. Overall, I would rent this house again due to it's location, but I would never suggest this house for more than four people because I wouldn't want to have anyone stay in the basement.
Our family enjoyed our stay at the cabin! The view was breathtaking from the cabin deck. The green at the bottom of the hill was a big hit! Our family members loved trying to hit the green with their golf balls. We really enjoyed the fire pit. The owners provided firewood and we had a fire complete with smores and mountain pies. Our neighbor reported seeing a bear and two bear cubs on Saturday morning. We looked the next morning, but unfortunately the bear did not return. Of course, we were looking from the comforts of the cabin window. The house stayed cool with the mountain breeze that came through the windows. We completed our trip with a a trip to the Cass Scenic Railroad on Saturday and visiting Cranberry Glades, Hills Creek Falls and Beartown on Sunday. Pocahontas County has so much to offer!
The cabin was beautiful. The views were amazing and refreshing. The overall rating is high because you cannot beat the beauty of the setting. The kitchen supplies were modest, but sufficient. However no baking dishes. One thing could improve cabin is a fan for loft bedroom. Heat rises, and when first come in to closed up house, upstairs bedroom was hot, took a day to cool off.
Great mountain getaway. Away from it all but not too far from civilization. 10 minutes to Marlinton, 25 minutes to Snowshoe. Wildlife, Hunting, Fishing, Hiking, Biking, Kayaking nearby.
