Located between two of California's top tourist locations, San Francisco and the Napa Valley, our wonderful cottage in Crockett offers stunning Bay views from its terrace, and easy accessibility to Berkeley, Oakland, Marin County, and other locations around the Bay. From this Italianate hillside village it's an easy drive to Touro U, CA Maritime, UC Berkeley, and other East Bay universities. A myriad of local parks and golf courses offer a range of recreational activities.
Our two-year old cottage features WiFi, bamboo floors throughout, slate-floored bathroom and shower over bathtub. Casual and serious cooks will appreciate the fully furnished kitchen - gas range, Le Creuset cookware, coffee maker, microwave, and place settings for four. The upstairs bedroom features a queen size bed with pillow top mattress, 600 count cotton sheets, half bath, and access to a generous-sized terrace with Bay view and comfortable furniture. The newly-furnished living room sports a couch that converts to a comfortable queen bed and a smart television with cable service and internet connection.
Friendly neighbors on each side will welcome you to this single-family residential neighborhood. Built on a steep hill, visitors are treated to fabulous views of San Francisco Bay, the Carquinez Straits, the California Maritime Academy, and other Bay-side facilities. Local restaurants provide sea food, pizza, and deli sandwiches. The town offers tennis courts and swimming pool. The Crockett Hills Regional Park - a great place for hiking and mountain bike riding - is nearby.
Our Bay cottage is a 20 minute drive to two different BART stations and only 8 minutes to the Vallejo Ferry which will take guests to San Francisco's Ferry Building, Pier 39, or (seasonally) the Giant's baseball park. The Oakland Airport is a 40 minute drive, and San Francisco Airport about 50 minutes.

A bay-area resident until retirement, I'm living in a small town in the far north of California.
I'm retired and living in northern California. I acquired the property when my son attended the California Maritime Academy. He moved out of the area, so I'm renting the house that he built.
The house sits on a steep hillside in a single-family neighborhood, allowing stunning vistas from the street and from the upstairs deck. Lovingly built in 2011 with bamboo floors throughout, slate-floored bathroom and shower over bathtub. The living room sports a couch that converts to a comfortable queen bed and a 42 inch television with cable service.
the Blue House proved to be perfect for my brief visit to the Bay area.
Overall experience was good. There could have been a few more conveniences(dish soap, facial tissue) but easy fixes. Couch needs to be more comfortable as it is main seating option. Crockett has cool vibe of times past. Brought back memories of time spent in area.
The cottage is full equipped and very comfortable. Has a awesome view to the Carquinez bridge and straight. Quiet neighborhood and ideal for a couple of days.
Blue house was very unique and perfect for our stay. We wanted to be close to the Ferry station(4.5 miles) so this was a perfect location to travel back and forth to San Francisco. Crockett, CA is historic noted for it's sugar mill with two fabulous places to eat: the local deli and The Dead Fish Restaurant. We enjoyed our stay and recommend the Blue House.
Location was my main reason for choosing the "Little Blue House," but it turned out to be so much fun and so much more than I anticipated. It came equipped with everything I could want ... wifi, cable tv, a fully equipped kitchen, lots of towels, separate bedroom and half bath upstairs, futon and full bath downstairs, fruit trees in the back and a wide balcony with super views of the bridge and water upstairs in the front. Parking was right outside the front door. The owner responded promptly and was easy to work with. The unit manager lives right next door and answered my questions quickly and graciously. Being from San Diego where our topography is generally flat, I was a bit challenged at first by the steepness of the Crockett streets. But my daughter who lives in the area assured me I would be just fine and I was. I discovered if I turned south off Pomona onto 6th Ave., I could reach the Little Blue House using only 90 degree uphill left turns which my little Hyundai handled with ease. Turning south off Pomona onto 2nd Ave. requires a 180 uphill u-turn in one spot which was manageable but not as fun as the other route. Don't miss the Valona deli right down the hill on Pomona which has SUPER sandwiches. And don't hesitate to get groceries or snacks at the J&L Market a bit further east on Pomona. The market had a great selection of items and the BEST artisan bread. We were busy the 2 days of the week the Crockett Museum was open (Wed & Sat. 10am-3pm). I wanted to find out more about the history of the C&H Sugar plant. Maybe next time. I would definitely recommend the Little Blue House and stay here again next time I'm in the area.
