Beautiful 17 inch lodgepole pine cabin on the Flathead River with 8 acres and private island complete with swimming hole.. Lots of wildlife and stunning sunsets! Located just minutes from Glacier International Airport (FCA) as well as Glacier Park! Scenic points to enjoy are Glacier National Park where you can see wildlife such as elk, deer, bear, eagles and the famous mountain goats, Whitefish Mountain Resort for winter skiing and summer hiking, the artisan village of Bigfork and of course pristine Flathead Lake. Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi and gives Tahoe a run for the money! Private 8 acre parcel is nestled among working wheat, potato, canola fields as near Firefly, a therapeutic equine therapy program. Beware of Pierre the ornery pheasant who's been known to look in windows.
This home is great for family or group vacations as the upstairs has the master suite, kitchen, and gas fireplace along with hardwood floors and colorful handmade wool rugs. The entire cabin just underwent renovation and is elegant yet cozy too.The downstairs has a wood burning fireplace, large living room and two bedrooms with full bathroom. There is also a king leather couch which serves as another bed if needed. For the adventurous, there is a loft for kids to sleep in over the garage complete w a wood burning cast iron stove for those chilly nights! There is a boathouse complete w wind chimes, hammock and chairs. The back has a large covered deck, patio furniture, picnic table , fire bowl and grill located near the new firepit. The front porch faces the Swan mountains which light up at sunset. Comes complete with lawn chairs and fireplace warmers and a beaver lodge on the island banks. This place is decked out and ready for that perfect vacation! When my children were young and we traveled they loved nests, closets, special rooms etc. so our log cabin has this cozy safe nest downstairs right under the staircase... Check it out! It's fun with quilts and blankets and a lantern! It is worth noting that we have 5 recent guests who have booked returning vacations and one has referred a friend who loved the place. After a long day of Glacier National Park expeditions you can come home to your private resort with riverfront Jacuzzi, Sauna and adjacent fire pit! Shhhh and the pheasants, wild turkey, Canadian geese and deer will be by. Just may see the local blackbear and cubs passing through.
This log cabin is my dream home and I negotiated on it over the course of a year. I relocated to the area from Tampa, FL and moved in December 2014. As an artist, I had a blast renovating and updating with, granite, faux painting, tile and landscaping. I also recently purchased a large Rainier cherry orchard on the east shore of Flathead Lake and where not only do we grow cherries, but also have Sunny Slopes Organic Farm there where we grow wheatgrass, sprouts and microgreens. We will be so happy to share wild flowers for you on your stay, our crop samples and order forms for our well known rainier and lambert cherries! We will ship from mid July to late August depending on weather. The 2015 crop is very promising. Great gift idea too.?wWe wish for you the peace, serenity and joy that this place has given us! Carpe Diem!

Location...location... Just outside West Glacier, minutes from the airport and Kalispell and a short drive south to beautiful, historic downtown Bigfork which sits on the Swan River attaching to Flathead Lake! Great restaurants, live theatre, galleries etc. Think pristine, safe and fresh air. Or you can drive NW to Whitefish which is like a mini-Tahoe. We are pleased to announce that as of 11/11/15 This home is one of very few rentals in Flathead County....officially licensed by the State of Montana as a tourist home! April 2016, New state of the art stone firepit complete with adirondak chairs facing the river adjacent to your private jacuzzi and new infrared cedar sauna imported from a manufacturer in Norway!!!..
Immaculate log Cabin with vaulted yet cozy living room, home has both gas and log fireplaces, nestled on 8 acres with river and mountain views, private island, hiking trails and swimming hole. Great birding! Claw foot tub in master bathroom is great after a long hike in the park. For the adventurous or teens, loft in garage w queen mattress for glamping! There is even an old fashioned wood burning fireplace in there! Just make sure to latch the door!
This was our second time here in less than a year and the house was great once again. Beautiful house and property with great views on both sides. Pam was very attentive and checked in with us to ensure our stay was comfortable. We will definitely stay here again and we consider this our home away from home. See you in 2018! - Tony, Katie, Jon & Krista
We stayed for 2 weeks and was amazing, beautiful cabin, perfect location, river in the "backyard" and wonderful host.
There are everything in the cabin to make your stay comfortable and Pamela is super b, she keeps in touch with you and is super helpful.
We could not stay in a better place, planning to come back asap.
We have nothing but positive things to say about renting this home from Pamela. The pictures of the house and property are lovely, but can't capture how fabulous they are in person. Our family enjoyed the large back porch, the hot tub and fire pit, well-equipped kitchen, grill and roomy living spaces where adults and teens could spread out. We also ventured down the hill to the riverfront where some of us enjoyed a quick swim. We had a busy week of planned activities in the area but honestly, one of the high points of the vacation was hanging out at the house.
We were a short 12-15 minute drive to Columbia Falls, about 30 minutes to Whitefish and about 30 minutes to the west entrance of Glacier. These drives were well worth it as we loved returning to our beautiful home base.
Pamela is a friendly and responsive owner who went above and beyond. She left us fresh huckleberries, pea sprouts from her garden and gift cards to the new distillery in Whitefish (worth the trip!). There are many brochures for outings/dinners in the house as well. We hope to return!!
Our family had a great family reunion in this well stocked cabin on the Flaathead River. The grandkids had a ball running around the large yard, playing in the hot tub (which we left cool), and singing around the fire pit at night. The cabin was in an ideal location just minutes away from Glacier Nat'l Park, Whitefish, Big Fork, and Flathead Lake. Pamela and Wade are to be congratulated on their decorating and furnishing of the cabin and how well stocked the kitchen was (condiments, spices, several types of oils and vinegars, etc.). They also provided gift certificates to a local restaurant that was superb. We will definitely return within the next few years. You will not be disappointed in this property - it was OUTSTANDING!!!
Our family had a great time at this perfect house. We were close enough to Glacier Nat'l Park (20-25 minutes to the park's West entrance, 30-35 minutes to Lake McDonald Lodge) to get to morning day hikes inside the park with no problem. (Getting into Glacier is much easier than getting into some parks, there was never more than a couple of cars in front of us at the check in ranger station.) We also spent 2 days in the Whitefish area--again, an easy drive. Before our stay, the owner was great at making sure we knew what to do--we arrived after 1am and had no problems. There were no problems at the house the entire time we were there.
It was great to know that we could hike all day in the park and come home to a soak in the hot tub. My kids made sure we did that every night. It was easy to make the reservation and the owner was responsive to all our needs. Before the trip, we had a couple of family members needing to cancel their trip, and the owner was very kind to offer us a discounted stay if we were to come again. The rest of us still went and had a great time.
Fantastic property in a beautiful location. The cabin is well equipped and furnished to a very high standard. We had a great stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone, we will return in the summer.
Columbia Falls is on the outskirts of Kalispell and Bigfork which are fully functioning tourist destinations with any amenity desired. Just 15 minutes from the driveway lies the entrance To West Glacier! Whitefish Ski Resort is just north about 20 minutes drive. SPECIAL BONUS ON BOOKING....complimentary gift certificate for drinks and dinner at Whitefishes new 5 star restaurant/tapas bar/distillery. Whitefish Handcrafted Spirits.
