I am an English language teacher at the University of Trento where I have worked since 1997. We went to stay in La Stazione in 2004 and fell in love with the valley and the house. We bought in 2006 but have never been able (so far) to devote the time to the house that it merits. One day soon I hope to retire and have more time to spend here. Meanwhile we let the house to friends and people who hear about it from friends.. and sometimes on Homeaway too!
Owner purchased this House in 2006

From A1 Motorway: leave at Arezzo toll gate and follow signs To Sansepolchro taking the SS73 route. If you arrive on the E45 from Bologna/Cesena come off at San Sepolchro and take the road towards Monterchi. When you arrive (via SS73) in Monterchi turn right at the bridge where there are signs for Lippiano/Monte S.Tiberina and the Piero della Francesca museum with the famous Madonna del Parto painting. After the museum take the second turning on the right for Borgiacciano/Fonaco. Follow this road for about two miles until you see signs for Borgiacciano. The road to the house drops down to the left immediately before the cemetery
There is excellent local food and wines to be found in restaurants, markets, and local shops. Truffles are a local speciality and can be bought in Monterchi. You can visit Florence, Sienna, Arezzo, Perugia and other famous medieval Tuscan or Umbrian towns which are all within easy reach. Or you can just relax and enjoy the surrounding local towns and hilltop forts - Anghiari, Citerna, Monterchi, San Sepolchro, Citta di Castello to name a few. From the house there are wonderful local walks with fabulous views of timeless medieval landscapes in all directions.
