About the property

You will love my newly renovated waterfront cottage located at 46 West Street on Mill Cove in downtown Boothbay Harbor. My heart and soul went into making this cottage a quaint, comfortable home with all the amenities that you could possibly want. My goal is to ensure that you have a most wonderful vacation. A new heating and air conditioning system guarantees comfort any time of year. See video tour at

Come for a long weekend to see the famous Gardens Aglow, with 360,000 lights, at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, November 17-December 31. Special two night minimum. The perfect way the celebrate the holidays!

Inside the cottage you will find three bedrooms: one with a queen bed, one with a full bed, one with two twin beds; a large eat-in kitchen with deck, dishwasher, and cooking supplies including a lobster pot; a cozy living room with flat screen television; beautiful hardwood floors; and two updated bathrooms, one with laundry.

This cottage has a beautiful lawn on tidal waterfront with a large new deck and dock. There are two kayaks for your use as well as fishing tackle. It is walking distance to all the downtown shops and great restaurants. There are also whale watching tours, kayak and paddle board rentals, seal and puffin excursions, or sailing. The Maine Botanical Gardens, Aquarium, and the Boothbay Harbor Golf Club are close by.

Feel free to bring your own kayaks and explore the Harbor and Mill Cove's shipwreck. If you don't mind the cold Maine water, you can swim at the many local beaches. You may also catch fish at high tide. Relax in the Adirondack chairs at the water's edge and watch the ducks and heron that often visit the cove. The water view can also be enjoyed from the new deck or the patio.

Because the cottage has a new heating and air conditioning system it is a perfect place for year round relaxation.

About Jo Crawford

I have been coming to Boothbay for many years with my daughter and granddaughter, and never dreamed I would ever be able to own a house this is my dream house in every way! It could be a place for your dream vacations as well!

Jo Crawford purchased this cottage in 2014

Why Jo Crawford chose West Boothbay Harbor

The minute I saw this house for sale on the internet, I knew I would love it. When I saw it in person, it was even more adorable than I thought. I bought it immediately, and now I hope you will love being in it as much as I do. It has everything I could possibly want, and now has a new dock and heating system. I have totally redone the house including a custom kitchen, while keeping its original charm. Sunrise on the dock is going to be beautiful!

What makes this cottage unique

The deck off the kitchen is the perfect place for morning coffee or walk to town to have a big breakfast! Have dinner at home, and walk to town for the best ice cream ever. The lawn going down to the water is a great place for children to play, croquet, and fishing is excellent off the dock. Kayaking is wonderful at high tide, and the big harbor is just a paddle away.

Cozy, cute and comfortable

The house was lovely, very comfortable beds, great location - close to town but private and quiet. Indoor shower is quite small, but outdoor shower was a real treat. We had a great time there.

Wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

I’m having a terrible time readjusting to regular summer life in the Texas heat. The cottage was perfect - well-stocked kitchen, comfortable sleeping arrangements, beautiful yard and great dock access. We walked to town most days, but also enjoyed hanging out by the water all day and cooking in. Jo’s restaurant recommendations were spot on. A great trip that went by too fast!

Peaceful tranquility

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at Mill Cove Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Jo makes you feel completely at home by having everything provided that you could possibly need. This cottage provided ease and convenience for us to kayak off the dock, eat lobster dinners at the house, walk to all the shops downtown, take a day trip to Monhegan Island, and visit the Botanical Gardens. We left happy and relaxed, with great memories of our family vacation at Boothbay Harbor.

Perfect place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our family, two adults, 2 grown kids, decided to head to Maine after a cruise out of Boston. We wanted a place by the water with accommodations that would allow everyone their own personal space. This home was perfect! It is located on a cove in Boothbay Harbor. The house was immaculate and stocked with every imaginable necessity. Although we did not meet Jo she was available by phone if necessary. The reservation process was flawless, no long waits for responses, etc.

We spent much of our time outside, kayaking, fishing off the dock (no luck) and just relaxing in the chairs down the hill from the house. The location of the house was right down the street from the downtown area, an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and the pier. We bought some lobsters off the dock and brought them home & cooked them in the lobster pot that Jo had provided. They were awesome and we wound up have leftover lobster for breakfast!

If I could find one possible issue with the house it would be that there is a very steep stairway to the downstairs bedroom, bath and laundry. It was not an issue for us but could be for someone who is unsteady on their feet or has health issues. However there are two bedrooms upstairs so it may not be a problem at all.

We would certainly recommend this lovely home for anyone needing a summer getaway from intense heat (Texas) and wanting some cool breezes and temperatures in a lovely setting.
