Great Apartment near the Vatican
Very clean, comfortable apartment within a short walk to the Vatican Museum. Metro was nearby so travel around the city was a snap. Owner met us upon arrival and showed how everything worked. Apartment is on 6th floor and there is an elevator. We were very pleased with our stay here and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.
Spacious flat with easy access to transport.
The flat is fairly spacious, clean and equipped with items such an iron and a hairdryer. The bed is extremely comfortable, and for those that need it, there is air conditioning. During the night, however, the streets are extremely noisy due mainly to frequent garbage collections from the large containers, and motor bikes that have removed their silencers. We always like to sleep with a window open, not just because of the summer heat (not a problem in the Spring and Autumn) so we needed earplugs; air conditioning was not an option for us because it affects our sinuses. This, of course, will not be a problem for others. One caveat: obtain the full address of the place well in advance, and be aware that the contacts' telephone numbers do not function in certain areas - at least, that was the explanation for why we had been told by the exchange that one of the numbers was "non raggiungibile". The tube is only minutes away, and there is a Conad 5 minutes walk away, and a wonderful fruit and veg shop round the corner - visible from the balcony.
Comfortable bed, big apartment.
Some small things were missing, like soap and toilet paper, but the shop across the street had both. Overall a good experience with the owner and a really comfortable bed.
Terrible Host and Worst Experience - 1
My partner and I booked Marco's apartment a few months in advance and were happy with the response, ease of booking and the fact that Marco was happy with our check in and check out times (check in at 2pm and check out at 6:30pm) and were looking forward to our stay. We planned a month long holiday in Europe and Rome was our last stop before heading back home to South Africa. We arrived in Rome on a Friday and managed to get to the street of Marco's apartment however found it very difficult to find the correct building as we were not given an address prior to arriving. The neighborhood was nice, not fancy but not shabby either, I think we felt pretty safe as tourists there. We managed to get hold of Marco who came out to the street to meet us and were ushered into the correct building with him. The first thing we noticed was the construction being done to the building, with scaffolding covering the front walls and entrance door to the building, so even if we had an address prior we s
till probably wouldn't have been able to see that this was the correct building. What made us a little annoyed about this situation was that there was a notice in the building dated September 2015 which had stated that there would be construction being done. We booked our accommodation in December 2015 and were not notified of this in any way. We would have appreciated some sort of notice on this but nevertheless, we overlooked it and continued on to the apartment on the 6th floor. Luckily enough, there was a small elevator so we did not have to carry our heavy luggage 6 floors up, that's a plus considering we had had to do this a lot on our travels.
We entered the apartment which was pretty secure with big locks on the front door, seems this is the norm for most part of Europe. Marco asked us for a few more minutes while he went off to clean the bathroom. It seemed as though the cleaner who was meant to arrive earlier in the day had not arrived on time, he literally rang the door bell while we were there to come clean and Marco sent him away after he had obviously spent his time cleaning the apartment for us. We didn't really have a problem with standing awkwardly in the lounge/passage area for about 10 minutes, but perhaps maybe being a little more organised and cleaning the day before guests arrive, if possible, would be better.

I really enjoyed my stay in Rome, the apartment is very nice, confortable, near the underground station, near Vatican. There are a lot of shops and small restaurants near the flat. Only a small surprice for me was to pay some additional amount like a tourist taxe on site. I think that the owner could send me this information before my stay.
The appartment is greatly located and it has everything you need. There are several markets and restaurants around and the metro station is very close. You can see the Vatican walls from the balcony. Marco is very nice and he can help with advice regarding the area.
I was dissapointed with the internet speed, this is the only thing we missed.
We had a wonderful stay in Rome, thanks to the location.
