Our home is available many dates (see calendar), including most holidays in 2017. If your preferred dates are not available, please call/email us so we can suggest another home in our lovely neighborhood.

Bright and spacious (2,216 sq. ft. living space plus extra large panoramic water view deck space with wind breaks and seating for 8 - 10), romantic, solar-powered, passive solar designed (skylights, full of natural light) 3 bedroom/3 bathroom Bodega Bay, CA home in elegant (architecturally significant homes with no overhead utility wires - cluttered yards - junk cars/boats, etc.) Bodega Harbour South - 18 hole, ocean side golf course community. Sleeps 8 - 10 (8 plus 2 infants) on cozy mattresses (all with mattress toppers) in 5 beds (2 queens, 1 full, and 2 twins) - plus the possibility of an infant bed in 2 of the bedrooms. Panoramic Pacific Ocean white-blue water, beach and lagoon views from Point Reyes (Tomales Point) to Bodega Head and harbor. Beautiful water/golf course/open space/romantic-sunset views from decks, most rooms, and hot tub. No views of highways. Ambient sounds include whispering surf and marine sounds. Otherwise, the home is quietly located on the park space and cul-de-sac (not on a busy street). No traffic/golf course mower-sprinkler noise, or golfers - golf carts outside your bedroom windows. Water softener, gas range, fireplace, large spa/hot tub, craft table & chairs, electric piano, pool table, 2 car garage, propane grill with sear burner, 24 hour security/on-call maintenance, surround sound system, 4 LED TVs (incl. 55' HD with Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Vudu, YouTube, etc. connectivity) with DVD players & cable service, Fast Wi-fi, free long distance calls to USA/Canada, book & DVR library. Professionally landscaped - California native plant garden. Deer, bobcats, foxes, rabbits, herons, egrets, pelicans, quail, & hawks have been seen from the home. Sea lions, seals and whales have been spotted offshore using the home's telescope.

House & BHHA (Community) Rules - by submitting your reservation request, you accept the rules stated below, and you agree to all terms and conditions herein.

This is not a home for parties/hosting events/wedding ceremonies-receptions, etc. No pets, no smoking anywhere on the property. This includes all indoor and outdoor areas. Primary renter must be minimum 25 years old. For meetings, and/or any activity that brings extra guests to the house, there are additional use fees and security deposits based on the size and type of activity. Written permission must be requested from owners and obtained in writing from owners prior to activity. This is a private home in a pristine, oceanside community - quiet and respectful behavior is required. Locked cabinets - cupboards - closets are not to be opened. Entertainment system wiring is not to be tampered with in any way. See also notes under Rates. Additional rules are contained in the guest handbook in our home, which must be read by each guest.

Rules and Regulations from Bodega Harbour Homeowners Association (BHHA)

The goal of the Bodega Harbour Community is for everyone, residents and all guests - visitors, to have a safe, relaxed and enjoyable experience while here. Abiding by the rules, which apply to everyone, will ensure that we fulfill this goal. If any of the following rules are violated by renters and/or guests of renters, owner and/or owner's agent/s reserves the right to immediately evict guests resulting in forfeiture of entire rental agreement, applicable taxes, and all fees. Additionally, you authorize owner and/or owner's agent/agents to charge your credit card for any related fines associated with these violations.

A. Maximum occupancy is 8 persons for this home.
B. Maximum of 4 vehicles (including up to 3 parked off property).
C. No trespassing on any lot (someone else's property).
D. No offensive noises, or disturbance, which interferes with other quiet enjoyment in the community. This precludes use of live amplified music. Quiet and respectful behavior is required 24/7 (at all times - not just 10 PM - 7 AM).
E. Non-residential use of the residence is prohibited, including all educational, religious and commercial functions.
F. No playing or practicing of golf without payment of golf fees. No trespassing, walking or riding on the golf cart paths, or golf course property, except as a registered golfer. Pets are not allowed on the golf course or cart paths.
G. No parking of RVs, motorhomes, boats or trailers within the community.
H. Behavior of all renters and guest should be conducive to that of a small community. Renters and guests in Bodega Harbour need to maintain behavior suitable to mature and responsible adults.
I. All beach access paths close at dark per Sonoma County Ordinance.
J. Schedule of fines - $250.
1. Per occurrence for excessive noise, nuisance or serious annoyance, or other activities which unreasonably disturb the quiet enjoyment of neighbors or results in damage to property owned by BHHA.
2. Per occurrence per person for violation of any other provisions related to the use of Common Area/or the Common Area facilities and amenities. These areas include but are not limited to the swimming pool, exercise room and tennis courts.
3. Per occurrence for use of a residence for a commercial or other non-residential purpose in violation of the Project Documents.
K. Schedule of fines - $250+.
1. Per occurrence per person for any unauthorized entry onto the golf course at any time except as posted.
2. Per person, per occurrence of non-payment of green fees prior to commencement of play. Golf course and golf paths are for registered golfers only.
3. Per occurrence for any pet violation. This includes keeping pet on leash and picking up after pet.

Events, Parties, Receptions, Weddings, etc.: although our home is not to be used for these functions, our ocean view community clubhouse and/or our harbor side yacht club could be perfect venues for your event. Please ask for more info.

Information for handicapped - disabled guests: from the front of the house, there are stairs (approx. 6 steps) up to the main floor. The large, walk in shower is on the main floor and all bedrooms are downstairs (approx. 13 steps). Two of the three bedrooms downstairs have private entry, ground level access to the rear garden.

Security deposit: You hereby authorize owner and/or owner's agent/s to charge against your payment method (credit card or other) provided, for all charges associated with any excess cleaning of home and/or spa, plumbing stoppages, lost keys and garage remotes, damage to the property, or its contents and long distance telephone, cable TV, and internet purchases. If the property does not experience any of the above, no charge will be made for same. Security deposits will be 100% refunded if no issues are found.

Ask about deal/special rates for senior/repeat guests, and weekly - monthly rentals. Mon. - Thur. rates, or free day/discount offers available for non-holiday, min. 6 night reservations Nov. 1 - March 31 only.

Cancellation: Up to 60 days before reservation commencement date - Loss of $25 initial payment; Between 60 full days and 30 full days before commencement date - Loss of $25 initial payment, plus loss of 50% of total additional payment made. Other than refundable deposit and housekeeping fee, funds received will not be refunded if home is not rented. If guest arrives and decides to leave early, the nights not spent are not refunded.

Rescheduling: $25 rescheduling fee. Rescheduling of dates is not permitted less than 60 days prior to arrival.

Check-in time is 4:00 PM and check-out time is 11:00 AM. Written permission must be requested and obtained in writing (in advance of above check in and check out times) from owner, or local property manager only - for early check-in and/or late check-out. Unapproved late check-outs will result in at least $100 being deducted from the security deposit.

All rates are subject to change until owner's requested payments are received by owner, together with owner's written confirmation of the reservation.

Please immediately contact our property management company first with any operating/damage issues, and emergencies. Then contact us immediately by phone (preferred) or email so we can ensure everything meets or exceeds your expectations. Kindly note your immediate contact is required so any operating/damage issues can be quickly addressed for your own comfort as well as the comfort of subsequent guests. Please do not wait until check out to report operating/damage issues as this will delay the remedy for you and subsequent guests.

About the owner: We love the outdoors - especially relatively pristine and quiet, natural environments with wildlife. We love cosmopolitan cities as well and we are fortunate to have a Victorian home in San Francisco in addition to our convenient, prime-view home on the Pacific Coast at Bodega Bay. We appreciate good food, good books, good music, good movies, and global travel. We are in the ultra-premium wine business so we love good wine too. We have lived around the globe so we do our best to make travelers feel at home in our homes. We are semi-retired. Laurel is an attorney specializing in labor and employment law. Bill is in the ultra-premium wine business and he manages real estate investments. Laurel is an alumna of UC Berkeley and Bill is an alumni of LSU.

Why the Owner Chose Bodega Harbour, Bodega Bay, CA, USA:
We obtained Whispering Surf because we love the Sonoma Coast seascapes, and wine country. It took us more than 5 years to pinpoint this particular home for purchase because it has a prime (stunning views, 5 - 10 minute walks to clubhouse - beach, etc.) location, and it is not on a busy street/road like many so - called 'view' homes are around Bodega Bay.

When we walked in the front door, we immediately fell in love with the truly stunning, expansive water views from inside Whispering Surf as well as from the extra large size upper deck. The interior of Whispering Surf is naturally bright and we have been fortunate enough to install a solar power system to take advantage of the surprising power of the sun right on the Sonoma Coast.
