We spent a relaxing week enjoying this lovely property with very peaceful garden and amazing pool! Property is a great size & very well equipped - hosts Teresa & Miguel have clearly thought of everything you could possibly need for a perfect vacation. The fresh food, wine & homemade jam were much appreciated. We would highly recommend this apartment located only 10 mins walk from the centre of town/beach.
Perfect for our visit to Cascais
We found the home to be an ideal place to stay whilst visiting the area. It was well equipped and comfortable. Having the garden and pool available for our sole use, as Teresa and Manuel were away, made it even more special!
Unfortunately the weather wasnt as warm as we'd hoped so we didnt get to use the pool as much as we'd have liked.
The wine, bread, cheese and figs waiting for us on arrival were great, and Teresa's and Manuel's introduction to the the property before they went away was most welcoming. Thank you.
Perfect Cascais Chill Out
As others have said this is a great little property. It is perfectly placed for all the sights and facilities of Cascais - beaches, restaurants, bars, shops, rail station & bus station. By that I mean easily walkable in 5-15 mins. Cascais is a great base for all the Lisbon sights (40 mins and €5 pp return) and Sintra history.
The 'casa' itself is spotlessly clean and well stocked with a necessities. I personally enjoyed the size of the shower stall the plentiful hot water and the pod coffee machine. My beloved loved the pool, the comfortable bed, teapot and teabags. The 'welcome pack' was very thoughtful and much appreciated as was Teresa & Miguel's help with local knowledge.
Great little house, lovely pool
We really enjoyed our stay in Cascais. The owners were very friendly. The house had everything we needed. It’s a 10 - 15 minute walk downhill to the Town centre, a 4 Euro taxi ride back if required ! The local restaurants close to the house ( near Lidl) were great and a lot cheaper than those in town. We had 5 days here to relax after our 4 days in Lisbon. We did visit Sintra but it is very busy and a bit chaotic with to much traffic trying to negotiate the one way system. We were told that it’s best to visit after 4pm when most of the day trippers have left.
Very well appointed cottage/villa. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Lovely hosts, Teresa and Miguel. Would thoroughly recommend.
Lovely 10 Day Stay
Great little property with lovely hosts, the "house" faces the owners one which is pretty much screened off with the pool separating it, very quiet and secure. We were left a lovely welcome gift of cheeses, ham, bread and wine so we did not have to shop on the first night and milk, coffee pods and croissants for the morning. The place itself is about 5 mins walk from Lidl if you do need to stock up with Pastelerias nearby and about 10 mins up or down a gentle incline into town, or apx £5 in a cab. Inside the property is very clean and well maintained with fresh bedding and towels provided during the week, a cleaner was also in attendance half way through the stay. The Decor feels like you are in a home as opposed to some soulless condo and the kitchen is pretty well equipped. The Bed is comfy and in the bathroom off of it shower worked well. Loungers and chairs and a table are provided by the pool. It suits 2 perfectly. My only concern was there is a step getting out of the shower and as i am a total klutz with no balance due to an illness a handrail might be of use to older or unstable people like me ! Otherwise wonderful place and hosts and would certainly return. Cascais itself is lovely, enough to see and do and a great base for exploring Sintra, or going back on the train to Lisbon, some lovely walks in the area to Estoril via the front or just around the town, castle and harbour. We came for some well earned RnR and that is exactly what we got. Pool great size too. Laura and Michael x
Near the center of cascais, in a street perpendicular to the AV of Sintra.
Easy access by motorway cascais (A5) or the marginal Av.
Bus in front of the house
Train to Lisbon at 700m
Cascais is a fishing village full of history that has developed a lot since the end of the 19th century and today is an inescapable reference of Portuguese tourism.
About 25km from Lisbon and 20km from Sintra will undoubtedly be a center to stay, taking advantage of the beach and the sun, as well as the picturesque bars, and have easy access to the city for a more cosmopolitan tourism or access to Sintra's patrimony of humanity with its palaces and Castle.
Do not miss the wonderful fish grills, where the Portuguese are masters, as well as the varied wine list.
