About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, Sleeps 4

Visit the Santa Cruz mountains and get away to the small town of Felton, California! This unique, two bedroom vacation home has everything you'll need to relax and take in the gorgeous, postcard-perfect, treetop views!

Located between San Jose and Santa Cruz, it's just 12 miles to the beaches and famous boardwalk, with attractions like Loch Lomond Reservoir and Quail Hollow Ranch right near this Tree Top View Cabin. Leave all the hubbub behind and unwind at this charming retreat in the woods.

Three flights of stairs assure a gorgeous view, but they also might be difficult for those with any mobility issues. But once you reach the welcoming front porch, you'll have a perfect outdoor spot for reading a book or sipping morning coffee.

This Felton cabin boasts tall ceilings, a woodstove, comfortable furniture, and even WiFi so you can stay in touch. Entertainment amenities include cable TV and a DVD player so you'll be able to gather everyone around for an after-dinner movie.

You'll have a full kitchen for delicious vacation. At night there are two bedrooms with a queen and a full bed, and one full bathroom. Up to four guests will be able to stay comfortably here. And if you want to bring your dogs, know that a nightly pet fee applies, and please be advised that dogs need to stay off of the couch and bedding. Because of the size of this unit, bigger dogs may be more comfortable on the deck.

Ideal for a family getaway, from both the busy Bay Area and beach town congestion, Felton offers easy access to Santa Cruz attractions, but away from the tourists. Right in town, there are state parks, hiking trails, a Farmers Market, and nearby wineries to explore!

This Central California vacation home in the trees will delight your whole group and provide a memorable home base near activities in Santa Cruz and beyond!

About Vacasa, CA - Central California Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Wonderful Tree Top Escape

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this little home. It is nestled far into the Redwood forest, easily a 30+ minute drive from Santa Cruz. However it is comfortable and we loved the remoteness. We drove into town several times a day, it was not a problem. The only problem was the driveway, it has a Terrible angle to it, it is very steep with a very tight turn to get into the "carport". We ended up parking at the end of the short driveway and walking up because we bottomed out so bad.

Lots to explore or just read a book. Kitchen has everything necessary. House was clean and tidy. Comfortably slept 2 couples. Outdoor deck was beautiful to drink coffee and listen to the birds! Highly recommend.

Very nice house in a quiet neighborhood. Not too far from the grocery store, but stop and grab your food and stuff before you get there because you won't want to go back down the hill once you get there! :)

Treetop Cabin in the Woods

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the cabin! My sisters and I had never been to the area but were very happy we ended up in Felton away from the touristy aspects of Santa Cruz but close enough to enjoy the beach areas as well. The cabin suited our needs perfectly. The deck was awesome - we spent a lot of time just sitting out there! No phone service, but wifi was sufficient for us.

Beautiful, house in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

I needed to get away to study for some advanced licensing tests, and the Tree House; high in the Felton woods, was lovely, peaceful and cozy. I was a little hesitant when it said, "dog friendly" that the home would smell like pets, but on the contrary. The home was extremely clean, and well decorated- inviting. It was stocked with plenty of towels and things that you need: even a small library of books to chose from. This small, two-bedroom, one bath, is just the right size for one to two people to enjoy getting away from the City. It would be great for a romantic get away. The bed was comfortable and there were extra blankets and pillows in the closet. I wasn't sure if the area would have mosquitos, so I bought repellent- I did not need it. No pesty bugs. I would suggest bringing a large flashlight. There were lots of blue jays to watch, and at night you are serenaded by crickets, and the stillness of the mountains. I did most of my studying on their large, furnished wood deck in the front. The table, with flowers was a perfect setting. I spent hours in the quiet surroundings, reading. The Safeway store was close by for groceries. The people were friendly, and nice in Felton. I would suggest that if you visit, use the directions the owner gives you. My GPS had me take the Summit Road from San Jose, coming towards Santa Cruz. Wow, was I lost. So their directions were perfect. But no fault to the owner. One thing you should know- no cell phone coverage- I could text, (sometimes), and I had a couple of important phone calls to make, so I had to drive to the Safeway area. But, then again, that is the point of getting away. Thank you for letting out your beautiful home. I loved how you decorated it. And I loved where it was located. Perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area.

Tree house retreat

I went there to study for a test, and it was perfect. It would be great for quiet time, or a romantic get-away. The home is clean and well stocked. I appreciated the small library to choose from. I did most of my studying on their large, furnished deck. The view is awesome. At night it's peaceful with crickets chirping. Safeway was close by, about ten minutes away through the woods. The wifi works great, but there is no cell phone reception. Please use the directions that the owners sends. My GPS had me take the Summit Road, I was lost- no fault to them. Pay close attention to the street signs.
