Why Costa Rica?
We have traveled all over the world and we have found that Costa Rica is the best place for a great vacation! The water is warm, the waves are perfect, the jungle is amazing, the climate is tropical, the food is impeccable, and the people are incredibly friendly. Pure and simple, this place is paradise. Come to Costa Rica and experience what the locals call the Pura Vida (Pure Life).
We have been spending our summers in Costa Rica at Casa del Sol since 2005. We have made many new friends by the pool and have enjoyed every minute of living the 'Pura Vida' lifestyle.
Pool BBQ is great for lunches or dinners.
Kelly loves meeting new people around the pool and making them feel at home.
A late bloomer, David started his surfing career at age 40, and now some 8 years later he is still learning how to ride the perfect wave.
Their daughter, Sydney, teaches English at a local school and raises money for school supplies.
Kelly Brehm purchased this condo in 2005
We traveled up and down both coasts of Costa Rica but could not find a better location than south Jaco. The staff is friendly and helpful, the waves are perfect, and we are far enough from the center of town to remain tranquillo, although a 3 minute taxi ride will put you right in the middle of downtown Jaco.
The pool with poolside BBQ, tropical gardens and views to the rain forrest are some of the best parts of our complex. Relax with views from the hammock on our balcony or while by the pool. Scarlet Macaws frequently fly over showing there beautiful colors. This is a great place to meet people. We've made friends here that will last forever!
Excerpt from the magazine "Outdoor Florida"Reprinted with permission from the author GON’ CATCHIN’With Capt. Ralph PiñeiroNormally I try to keep my expectations low so as not too become too disappointed, when I do one the items in my list. For the trip to Costa Rica this was not the case. My expectations were super high. On the flight over I was actually worried that they were too high, and reality would not be able to live up to my expectations. Not to worry, all my expectations were met and surpassed, please read on. Since almost everything was perfect I will try not to bore you with too many details, but rest assured, I strongly recommend Costa Rica to all of you. If it weren’t because my wife does not want to move over there, our house would be up for sale already (and we just got back a week and a half ago). She liked the place, but she does not want to move that far away from our children. Not yet anyway, but I’m still working on it (after all is only a 2½ hour flight). After 34 years, going at it alone is not an option...We left Punta Leona and drove south about ½ hour to the Condominios Club del Sol Hotel in the town of Jaco Beach...The manager, Julieta Mitnik & her husband, Sergio, a friendly couple from Argentina saved our day, and quickly made us forget the bad experience at Punta Leona. Our “room” was a professionally decorated, luxury 2- BR condo with everything included, full kitchen, living room, and even washer and dryer. What a difference! You will find quite a few Americans at Jaco. I could live happily ever after here, so these condos and the town of Jaco get two thumbs way up...
We had a really great stay at this beach condo with our 9 year old daughter. The condo is well appointed and immaculately clean. It is on an the upper level with a nice view over the pool. There can be road noise at peak traffic times however the white noise of the fountain in the pool largely obscures this. There is a 24 hour security person as well as a front desk which makes checking in an out very easy. It is a quick walk down to the south end of Jaco beach which is peaceful and has perfect surf for boogie boarding which we enjoyed immensely. The beach is huge and the sunsets are spectacular. There is a beachside restaurant if you walk down to the beach and turn right to the Jaco Laguna resort that has gorgeous views of the sunset and nice food. If you venture into town there is top notch ice cream at Marisican Gelato (particularly enjoyed the toasted coconut and salted caramel) and good coffee at Bohio. The Wishbone cafe was good as well as Los Amigos. There is also a reallly good pizza place beside the Marisican Gelato place serving Neopolitan style pizza made in a wood burning pizza oven. These places are just north of the prominent red multistory building in the middle of town. Overall we had a terrific holiday and would definitely consider a return to this apartment. There were a couple of other families with children that we met at the pool who have come back to this same spot for years at March break.
Our family of five stayed comfortably in this tastefully decorated condo. Kelly was very helpful in assuring our stay was comfortable and took her time to inform us of all their favorite activities they enjoy doing as a family over the years in the area. The condo has a great location! The beach is a short five minute walk and there is a wonderful reserve across the street. We saw monkeys, dart frogs, beautiful makaws and other fun creatures. Town is also a short $3 taxi ride.
We were picked up by Juan Carlos and his son JJ upon arriving at airport. They were fun to talk to and it was an easy transition to condo after a long travel day. They also got us discounted tickets on our activities.
We were Canadian snowbirds in Jaco for a month and this condo was a great place to land. It is beautifully decorated and everything is very well presented. It is well equipped for a long stay. The master bedroom bed is big and comfy. The view from the balcony is lovely overlooking the pool and with the curtains open, you feel like you are in a tree house. We loved our time in this condo and felt it was excellent value for the money. We would highly recommend this condo and the helpfulness of the owners.
fantastic condo with everything you need for a nice getaway. Food and beach within walking distance, and nightlife a short ride away. Highly recommended!
We were so impressed with this darling Condo located just a couple blocks from the beach and less than a mile to town. Jaco is such a cute town with so much to do. Fine restaurants and shops and a safe place for the kids to hang out. The condo is very nicely decorated and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the owner, Kelly had so many tips on where to go, what to do, where to eat. She really knows her stuff and is right on! You can just feel the stress leave your body when you come to this place. I highly recommend it and we will definitely be coming back!
"My family and I stayed in this gem for a full week. The 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were really nice, clean, and perfect for our family. In fact, we where so surprised how much larger the place was. Loved, loved, the patio looking down at the little oasis and the waterfall/pool. The staff were attentive. The owners were amazing! We highly recommend this little paradise. Merci pour des merveilleuses vacances!!!”
This location is perfect for enjoying everything Costa Rica has to offer.
The south end of Jaco Beach is a great location for learning to surf as the waves break gradually. Surfboard rentals are available across the street from Carton surfboards. Avid surfers can enjoy the more challenging waves at world-famous Playa Hermosa, home of the World Surf Championships. Great beach restaurants and bars, perfect for sunsets and checking out those pro surfers from all around the world.
Sail across the tree tops on a canopy zipline tour. There are several within a short drive. Ask our concierge for a good match for your group. Rent an ATV and ride up the mountain into the jungle tour. Be ready to be covered in mud!
Day trip an hour south to Manuel Antonio. Visit Manuel Antonio National Park. Optional tour guides are available for a fee, or take your binoculars. Exciting animals include monkeys, sloths, dragon lizards, killer bees, exotic birds, and snakes. After strolling through the beautiful jungle seeing exotic animals, enjoy a picnic at one of the beautiful white sand beaches located inside the park. No food is allowed within the park.
River Rafting is also popular in Costa Rica. Our concierge also has information if you would like to try out your skills.
