About the property

Welcome to Laule’a Ohana, laule’a meaning peace, happiness, and friendship! This beautiful high bank waterfront home near Langley, WA has stunning views, a huge covered front porch, large yard, fire pit, , and private sandy beach access just a short walk away. This home has been furnished to be a high end retreat with new furniture, beds, bedding, and appliances. To highlight the house:

 Master bedroom with Four Seasons King bed in navy velvet, stunning views and spa-like bathroom, including soaking tub and natural tile.

 Additional upstairs room with twin bunk beds, comfy window seat and built in shelves.

 Blue room downstairs with queen bed (Westin Heavenly) and lots of light.

 View room off porch with amazing water views and another Four Seasons bed.

 Blu-Ray player as well as Xbox and Wii.

 Internet throughout the house.

 Huge, fully fenced half acre yard with fire pit and swing/play set for kids.

 Stocked kitchen. Feel free to bake a cake

 Books and game galore for those days spent inside relaxing.

This property also has lots of room for frolicking outside. There is a huge, fully fenced half acre yard where the kids can run and play games. Or, take everyone down to the private beach for some beachcombing, crabbing, or fishing. Later, come back and build a fire in the outdoor fire pit.

Langley is a historic town built in the 1800s. it has now become a tourist destination (and one of my favorite towns) as it is full of cool shops, boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, and wineries. Whidbey Island in itself is a place to explore with hiking in Ebey's Landing, Fort Casey, the town of Coupeville and many other fun and interesting options to explore.

This is truly a peaceful, rejuvenating place with magnificent water views from practically every room in the house, lots of opportunities for wildlife viewing, and every comfort and amenity needed for a relaxing and fun retreat. This is a perfect destination for families, romantic getaways, or a special weekend with friends!

About Laura R

Hi! Thank you for your interest in my property. My name is Laura and I am a Seattlelite who loves the feel of the island so chose to buy a second home for my family and friends to enjoy as well as other vacationers in need of some relaxation and fun.

Laura R purchased this house in 2014

Why Laura R chose Whidbey Island

I love the HUGE front porch (don't know why not everyone has these in Seattle). I also love the huge yard for play and a fire in the fire pit at night. And you can't beat the view or the private beach.

What makes this house unique

One can sit outside and dine with friends/family and feel no rain under the porch. Also, the house is new and kept in immactulate shape with views from every room (minus back bedroom).

The private beach is one of the only sandy beaches on Whidbey so when the tide is out you have your own private beach.

Beautiful waterfront home in Langley, half acre, private beach and lots of space

Just ok

  • 2 of 5

Nice, comfortable home on a hill overlooking Holmes Harbor. This is not a waterfront home. To get to the "beach" which is not really a beach, you need to drive or walk, if you walk, be prepared to walk back up steep road to get back, if you you have knee issues, drive.

Could not for the lives of us turn on the TV. The first night we got Netflix on, but it kept pausing, or going in slow motion. We gave up and played cards for two nights. On the third day we decided to just go home, so did not stay the third night.

The owner had me sign a big long contract, which I thought odd. I own a home on Mutiny Bay (which actually is waterfront), and do not require people to sign off on a ton of rules and regulations. When I arrived, I took note of the carpet stains and let her know, as I was afraid I would be blamed and charged for them.

Anyway, the house is cute and comfortable. 13 miles to the town of Langley, 6 miles to Freeland. But not a waterfront experience.

Owner's Response: Hi Paige ! Thanks for your words. I'd like to reiterate that the house is high bank waterfront. The house is right above the water but the private beach does need to be accessed by a private road, only for those within an association, but it is waterfront, just to be clear. That's part of the reason it is such a great spot as well as there is a half acre of land and one has room to move while so many of the waterfront homes directly on the sand are right on top of each other. Also, I apologize about a couple of stains on the carpet. If you have a rental you know that they need to be professionally cleaned after every summer season which hasn't happened yet. And, if you'd had issues with the television and the directions were not helping you are always welcome to call me, as I had stated to call me if you need anything. That counts as anything. Regarding the contract, I have guests sign a long contract to protect myself and you as a renter as it is REQUIRED by the company in which I get vacation rental insurance. I know a lot of folks who have rentals probably don't do that but I like to be by the book.

Perfect family getaway

  • 5 of 5

This house was absolutely perfect for a family getaway, easily fitting 2 parents, 2 children, 1 au pair and 1 dog with plenty of room to spare. The house was roomier than I expected from the pictures and was in perfect condition. We liked that the location was equidistant (10 minutes drive) to both Langley and Freeland (Langley is the picturesque tourist town, but Freeland has some of our favorite food and much cheaper groceries). There's so much we loved, from our children running around independently in the fenced yard with playset, to the video games, to the fire pit at night.

We didn't care much for the private beach (a rocky beach, mainly for launching a boat), but it was still great to have so close, especially for playing fetch with the dog.

We plan to stay here again, for sure.

Perfect House and Location

  • 5 of 5

Our family just stayed at this beautiful waterfront home in Langley. We enjoyed every inch of this house and yard. Cooking for a crew of hungry teens was made easy with the functional kitchen and expansive deck. Waking up to birds and waves is such a treat. Laura the owner was responsive and attentive. Definitely recommend this house. Make sure to take a trip through Langley, a very special town. Until next time!

Perfect. Spacious, clean, comfortable, views, quiet, peaceful. everything you need for a getaway.

  • 5 of 5

Laura's home was ideal for our weekend getaway. The minute you walk in the door you are greeted by an open bright main floor with great views out the wall of windows to the bay. The whole place was clean and tidy with all the amenities you need for a weekend or longer stay. The bedrooms are spacious, cozy, and comfortable. The large fully functional kitchen has everything you need to prep and cook your meals. There is a very big porch the whole width of the house to enjoy eating outside or relaxing while the kids play on the swing set. The private beach is a short drive down the bluff and ideal for lounging, walks, collecting shells, and watching the Bald Eagles. We saw a lot of deer also around the neighborhood also. Freeland and the shops are a 5 min drive away, and the village of Langley is about 15 max. I would recommend Laura's place to anyone. A short drive from the hurly burly of the city but a world away.

Comfortable, cute rental

  • 5 of 5

We needed a home for a week while our house was closing and all I can say is this house was perfect! My husband kept telling me it was our best rental yet on the island. I couldn't agree more. It was very well stocked, the kids loved the bunk room, my husband used one of the extra rooms as an office and everyone enjoyed the large back yard. It's nicer than some of the pictures show, which the opposite has been my experience with past rentals. I sat and read three books while we were there. Very relaxing and peaceful. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone we know!
