About the property

A short journey to the center of Rome or to the beach resort town of Ostia.

On a quiet street, this newly rennovated, lower-level apartment with one bedroom is a 8 to 10 minute walk to the Lido-Metro stations of Acilia and Casal Bernocchi. From there, it is just one transit stop away to the historic port of Ostia Antica (a must-see), 3 stops to the Mediterranean seaside beaches of Lido di Ostia, or a 20 minute ride to Piramide Metro Station on the B-line in the centre of Rome, in proximity to all the main attractions.

Accommodation is a bright and spacious private apartment with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. There is a double bed in the bedroom plus a sofa-bed to sleep one adult in the living area. There is comfortable seating in the living room and visitors will enjoy the flat screen television with free local TV and Wi-Fi. The modern kitchen, equipped with refrigerator, 4-burner cook-top, microwave and washing machine comes complete with dishes, Italian coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans — everything you need to prepare light meals. The beautifully designed Italian bathroom has a large shower and is equipped with a hairdryer. Towels and bedding are included.

Your host, a Canadian citizen who has made her home in Rome for many years and lives on the property, is fluent in English and Italian and will be happy to provide information on finding your way around the area as well as tips on the best places to shop and dine.

About The Owner

I am an ex-pat Canadian, originally from the Toronto area, living in Rome for the past 15 years. I have raised by family here and would love to share my knowledge of the area in order to make your stay fruitful and enjoyable.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2007

Why The Owner chose Latium (Lazio)

This rental apartment is a part of the property that I purchased in which to raise my family. Now that my two oldest are off to university, I have decided to offer this unique property to guests.

What makes this apartment unique

One of the best things about the apartment is its proximity to the centre of the neighbourhood quarter named Acilia. Here you can find everything you would every need, including traditional local restaurants, clothing, and of course the best gelato around. The apartment is perfect if you want to head into Rome, but avoid the tourist prices and chaos in the evening, and if also perfectly situated to see Ostia Antica and go to the fabulous beaches in Ostia.

Very, very happy.

  • 5 of 5

Great place with everything you need. Most anything for a short stay is In walking distance. It has easy access to transportation in to Rome and sightseeing. Enough cannot be said about the owner, Ann. She is very accommodating and went way beyond what was expected. My stay was very affordable. I would definitely go there again. Thank you Ann for the wonderful place to stay.

I felt at home

  • 5 of 5

We really felt ourselves very comfortable at the Ann's house with my husband during our Rome holidays. The apartment is nice, clean, well equipped, and there is everything you need to rest after the eventful day, to make light dinner or breakfast... Very quiet and green place with the garden, where the birds are singing... Good wi-fi, good transport connections, all the necessary services around in Acillia. Particular thanks to Ann for her detailed instructions and for helping to get from and to airport. It was very nice to meet Ann and to talk to her. We’ll be happy to visit her our next time in Rome.

A Stay in the Roman Suburbs

  • 5 of 5

This was my 6th rental in Italy since 2011, and one of the best in many ways. The furnishings are relatively new and comfortable, and since Ann is an expat Canadian, communication (which is much more than just language in Italy) is painless. For those who tire of the crowds and tourists in the historic center, Ostia ,which is 3 stops away on the Lido train, is a pleasant alternative. I would happily stay there again, if in Rome, and recommend it to friends.

An Excellent Stay

  • 5 of 5

I have all positive things to say about my stay. First, Ann, the owner, is an excellent, knowledge person who was very welcoming and helpful with the area. The apartment has all the amenities one would need for a short or long stay. It is a pleasant and direct 10-15 minute walk public transit. Also, the pictures online are representative of the large apartment. There are plenty of affordable shops and food options for those who want to escape the busy and expensive city center and experience more traditional and authentic suburban Roman life.
