Living it Up in Angel Haven

  • 5 of 5

Wow! This place has it all! Huge, well furnished home and tons of activities for kids and adults alike! Came up for a guys weekend away from the wives and girlfriends and found ourselves at the house almost the whole time. We're a lazy bunch when the ladies aren't around and Angel Haven makes lounging at home a great experience! The indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna take this place to a whole other level! You've also got the pool table, basketball mini game, Wii U, outdoor pool, kids playground, ping pong table and so many other things to just eat away at your time here. I didn't want to leave! David and Nancy were wonderful hosts and I can't thank them enough for their hospitality! Will definitely be back in the future!

Pros and Cons

  • 3 of 5

Pros: Secluded and quiet, indoor pool and outdoor pool area nice and beautiful views.

The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with adequate cookware and tableware. The owner David greeted us and gave us a tour, he lives in the apartment attached to indoor pool. Him and Nancy respected our privacy.

Cons: Over priced considering condition of home. It felt old and tired like stepping back into the 1980's. The appliances are out dated but work. Many lights don't work, ie: upstairs bathroom had 4 lights switches but none worked. The switch over sink worked but 3 out of 5 bulbs didn't work. There were no curtains in upstairs bedrooms, the bright sun woke us up 6am every day. There was a piece of ceiling missing and water stains on carpet in billiard room. (owner planning to arrange repair when no house guests) The house smelled a little musty. The exterior windows were dusty with cob webs. It was in the high 90's, 3 bedrooms do not have a/c and hot even with windows open and fans going. Over all it is spread out and great for large groups who can look past the flaws.

Owner's Response: The mansion was built in the '80's and the cost to build was approximately 2 Million. This home has been a part of the local history offering much enjoyment and a taste of the good life for many. The previous owner would entertain at this resort with sometimes over 50 people attending the parties. The memories are of great fun in the good old days and would be a shame to lose the character and spirit of the era by changing the appearance. It's a landmark. A feeling of going back in time. Three Rivers is changing fast. More people from the large cities are coming in and trying to change the charm and history of this small mountain town environment. We want to keep the soul alive of the by gone days. Two years ago when we were gearing up for the vacation rentals we purchased a brand new stove with double ovens, a dishwasher, compactor, washer and dryer. A month ago we put in a brand new microwave. The SUBZERO refrigerator is older and still going strong. The other double ovens are older as well but as stated earlier we do have the new ovens. There are 4 ovens in all. David and I do like to offer our guests the privacy that they are looking for but we are on call 24/7. Whenever there is an issue David is there to help our guests with whatever their needs may be. If you had just given David a call regarding the lights and the A/C he could have fixed it with a flip of a switch. After reading the review he found that a breaker had tripped. This was most likely due to the jolt of the 100 degree weather and the unit being set at 64. The issue is now resolved.

Privacy, Luxury, Nature and Lots of Space!

  • 5 of 5

This place has it all! A group of friends and I came for a long weekend and ended up having a hard time leaving. The Outdoor pool is perfect to cool down from the hot sun, and the indoor pool is massive, and makes for great late night games. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the layout of the house lends itself to large parties. You can easily disappear for a few hours to nap or read, but come back to the main room/rooms to eat and socialize. The local cat (Bobby) was one of the friendliest and most loving cats I've ever met. Overall 5 stars! Finally, working with Nancy and David on the reservation was painless, and they were very helpful to show us around and help us out if we needed it. I recommend this place to any and everyone!

Great house!!!!

  • 5 of 5

First of all if you are looking to get away from noise and are looking for a far out peaceful quite private large place to stay this is the location to be!! We loved being away and having complete privacy not having to worry about the children making too much noise. The house is in a stunning breathtaking location. The views are absolutely out of this world. There was fun for everyone from game room to pools and play ground no one was bored! The owners were sweet and very acomadating. We highly recommend great for any type of group or family.

Excellent Hilltop mansion

  • 5 of 5

Our group stayed in Nancy and David's house for 3 nights for planned day trips to Sequoia national forest. Our group was comprised of 4 families (19 total, with 10 kids 18 to 4 years of age). We were really worried about space and sleeping accommodations.

Our worries were immediately put to rest as we drive up to this Hilltop mansion, the place was so big that there were places to go if you want peace and quiet and lots of areas for gatherings. The rooms were spacious, beddings where 5 star quality, air conditioning was more than able to cool the house. The 2 large pools (indoor, outdoor, Jacuzzi, sauna), ping pong table, pool table, foosball, video games, board games kept the kids so entertained we decided to ditch1 day of hiking just to spend the day in the house.

Nancy and David where excellent hosts and very genuinely welcoming, we of course took them up on their offer of picking fresh vegetables from there garden.

The place is only 5-10 minute drive to Sequoia National forests. Do not hesitate to stay at this wonderful place.

Thank you Nancy and David
