It has ample room for relaxing inside and a level yard for playing and enjoying the fire pit in the cool evenings. The three ample sized bedrooms have closets and dressers for storage. There is a Queen bed in one bedroom, two twins in the next and a Double in the third bedroom. Sleeps a total of 6.

Wonderful Family Wedding Weekend Accomodation!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough good things about my interactions with Tom Brown, the owner, in making the reservation and handling the details. He was prompt and quick to answer any of my questions. We rented the cabin for a family wedding taking place at Granite Ridge Estates and Barn. The cabin was perfect and the envy of many of my family members who had done the standard rental of a room at Poland Springs Resort, a good half hour away from all the activities. Gene, sp?, the property manager for the cabin stopped by soon after we arrived to ensure we were all comfortably settled and that we had been able to get the heater started. We were all settled and very comfortable. He then provided information about the area and had other recommendations and suggestions for us. Saturday as we were all sitting around the fire pit roasting marshmallows and having lunch, he stopped by to point out the loons on the lake that were doing a departure ritual that was fun to watch. He was very outgoing and wanted to ensure that our stay was a pleasant experience. The cabin was very comfortable, the kitchen very well stocked with pots and pans etc. of a very good quality. The best recommendation came from my kids and their significant others who all proclaimed it the perfect place to be! My granddaughter, aged 7, asked me to thank Gene specifically for providing the cart that Gene allowed her mom to drive. They had a blast driving up and down Mallard Way! It was a highlight of her weekend.

It Was A Perfect Two Weeks!

  • 5 of 5

Although previous Reviewer Cheryl K. has pretty much said it all, I'd also like to add that the cabin is close to the wonderful towns of Norway, Bridgton, Naples, Harrison and Fryeburg. When we did occassionally leave the cabin, we had an opportunity to visit these quaint towns and do some shopping and eating out. We even attended a concert at the Deertrees Theater outside of Harrison prior to their seasonal closing. Oxford Hills is also within a 20 minute drive where we shopped for food and alcoholic beverages at the local Hannafords. There is also a well maintained casino there where we quickly lost our dedicated $20 and left. In addition, there is a paved auto race track where we attended a Saturday night race for an entry fee of $10 pp. As Cheryl also mentioned, the cabin's owner, Tom, was a pleasure to correspond with. He even put us onto a local seafood man who sells his supply out of the back of his truck at the Irving Gas Station on the weekends. Between purchasing from him and also from the Hannafords, we gouged on lobster and steamer clams throughout our stay. The cabin even has a lobster pot for your use! We did attend the local Congregational Church on Sunday and really felt the spirit shared in the pastor's sermon and music performed by two local Native Americans. All in all, it was the best vacation we've had in a long time and we have travelled extensively throughout the world. We liked the area so much that we've purchased a summer residence on North Pond. Thank you Tom (and his local Norway neighbors) for allowing us to thoroughly enjoy such a slice of heaven!

So relaxing and beautiful.

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week relaxing at this cabin. It was so quiet and peaceful. The roomy, screened in front porch was my favorite feature. From the moment we reached the site, we were enchanted by the towering pines, the beautiful blue water and the fresh, earthy smell. When we opened the door to the cabin, we were very impressed with the spacious rooms, the panoramic view of the lake, and the homey/nostalgic decor (complete with fun and whimsical touches).

We really enjoyed viewing the antics of the neighborhood squirrels and the surprise of seeing a large flotilla of geese cruising down the lake. My favorite memory, however, is walking into the livingroom the first morning and seeing brilliant sunshine streaming through the front windows, with the intensely blue sky reflected in the surface of the lake.

It was so nice to have a sturdy and roomy dock to sit on in order to enjoy the water up close. We made use of the provided kayaks to take some exploratory trips up and down the lake. Although we didn't have time to use the fire pit or the waterside picnic table, it was nice to know they were there. There were several cabins nearby, but they were far enough away and partially screened by foliage so you still had a sense of privacy.

As the week progressed, we discovered how well stocked the cabin was. We found all the utensils, cookware and appliances we needed and then some. We also took advantage of the available wifi connection to go online and share pictures of the lake with our family. Although we were three 55+ adults, I could see where children would have fun with all the available board games and water floatation devices. There was also a nice wide deck as you entered the cabin where children could play and adults could barbeque. The two assigned parking spots were just beyond the deck. Being close to the front door like they were, loading and unloading the cars was easy.

The first day we met Gene the caretaker. He was so friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed his handiwork in the form of a "gnome cottage" he had created from an old stump in the side yard. It was so imaginative.

Tom, the owner, was very prompt with his responses to our queries and went out of his way to make sure we got settled in OK. He made us feel very welcome and comfortable. I would definitely recommend his cabin, especially to those looking for a refreshing break from the hassles and stress of everyday life.

perfect weekend

  • 5 of 5

We rented the cottage to celebrate our anniversary. We caught some fish off the dock and used the kayaks. Saw an eagle too! The quiet lane was perfect for our 3 year old to run around outside and not worry about traffic.

The cottage was very comfortable and so relaxing. Everything we needed was there. Kitchen was very well stocked. We'll be back!
