This charming East Sooke house is the ideal home base for a larger group traveling to the west coast of Vancouver Island. The house sits on one acre of land and has a large sunny deck with a hot tub. There are limited but uplifting ocean views from the deck and from the bedrooms. Inside you find comfortable furnishings, a washer and dryer, a cozy wood stove for those rainy days and a big, fully equipped kitchen. Enjoy exploring the many nearby beaches and breathtakingly beautiful parks. There are 2 marinas within a 10 minute drive. Both have public boat launches and one offers boat rentals. Some of the best salmon and halibut fishing on the west coast of north america is found just off the beaches here. A country store stocked with all necessities is just a 5 minute drive down the road. The house is located 15 minutes from the town of Sooke, 20 minutes from greater Victoria and 40 minutes from downtown Victoria, the capital city of the province of B.C. The house sleeps 6 comfortably in four bedrooms.

About Rob Seemann
Greetings from beautiful Sooke, British Columbia! My name is Rob. I have built this house and owned it for almost 20 years now. I grew up in Munich, Germany and have lived in Canada since the age of 19. I travel a lot and usually stay in vacation rental properties myself. I am happy to give my guests a wonderful opportunity to call this fantastic area home for a few days or weeks and explore the many natural attractions Sooke and Vancouver island offer!
Rob Seemann purchased this Chateau / Country House in 1996
Why Rob Seemann chose Sooke
Staying at Llanilar House gives you the best of both worlds when you visit the area! A peaceful country setting where no light or sound pollution spoils your evenings as you stargaze from the deck at night. Yet only a short trip by car opens up incredible nature adventures and even shopping opportunities.

Beautiful Away From It All Property
We stayed at this property in August 2018, the property is huge and is in the forest, it is fairly close to others but due to the trees you feel as though you are isolated. It is well maintained and very clean throughout, it is also very well equipped with everything you might need (the only thing it might be nice to add is a visitors book so people could let others know which places are good to visit). The hot tub on the deck is wonderful. East Sooke is very peaceful and a lovely place to stay. Would totally recommend this accommodation
We loved this cabin and the area so much the first time we decided to come again. Everything is clean and very well organized. Rob is great to deal with. Efficient check in and check out. The place is quiet and perfect for a family. Lots of great hiking and beaches close by.
Very cool spot! Rob was quick to respond and very helpful. The place was clean. Check in/out was simple. The kitchen is totally functional and equipped to cook REAL meals in and even though it's a little outside of Victoria, access to everything was easy. Plus, with the drive being so beautiful, we hardly noticed. And though we were traveling with 4 adults, I think this space would be fantastic for a family or maybe two? Our favorite parts were the hot tub, the flowers, the wild bunnies, being visited by a family of Quail with babies every morning, and a beautiful 3pt. buck Deer in velvet!
Great place to stay
Very quiet, very clean. Overall great place to rent, only downfall there was no outdoor fire place.
I am happy that you enjoyed your stay at the house!
Regarding outdoor fires:
East Sooke rarely receives any rain from late May to September. As a result the area gets extremely dry and the wild fire hazard becomes enormous.
During those months we can't allow outdoor fires and we were informally requested by the fire department not to provide outdoor fire facilities.
However - the fire place inside the house can be used year round.
A note to our future guests: While smoking is permitted outside the house please be very careful especially during the months of May to September!
A carelessly discarded cigarette can have catastrophic consequences in no time...
Relaxing and private
House was clean and cozy upon arrival. Was stocked with all the little things you may need, they even had a fire ready to be lit. Great open floor plan made for a comfortable stay with 2 kids and 2 dogs.
We wanted a nice quiet vacation, and this was perfect. Great hiking at East Sooke Regional Park, check out the copper mine site. Nice hot tub to relax in at the end of the day, and stargaze. Nice, and clean house with plenty of room. We saw rabbits, deer, and eagles in the yard during our stay. Rob was helpful and quick to reply.
