About the property

3 Bedroom, 1 1/2 Bath Home---Sleeps 6

Colorado Springs is the perfect Summer destination and the Cottage on Willamette is the perfect downtown location!!

This lovely three bedroom, one and a half bath cottage is urban living at it's best. You are a ten minute walk to the heart of downtown Colorado Springs where you will find our treasured Acacia Park with Uncle Wilbur's Fountain in the summertime and an outdoor ice skating rink during the winter. Stroll down Tejon Street where there are restaurants and shops that will satisfy everyone in your family. The COSP night life is also downtown making your vacation home close to 'something for everyone'. Because you are in the middle of everything, You aren't far from anything: The renowned Patty Jewett Golf Course and Restaurant located just a mile from your Cottage (even if you don't play a round of golf it's a great place for a casual meal with stunning views); Old Colorado City with small boutiques and eateries; Manitou Springs with the Pikes Peak Cog Railway; the famous Garden of the Gods Park as well as several fun hiking trails at all levels. You will be in the perfect location for visiting your Student that is attending Colorado College and your Air Force Student will enjoy 'living downtown' while you are in the Springs visiting Him/Her.

We just purchased our Vacation Rental in 2014 and have had great fun furnishing and decorating it for Your enjoyment and comfort. You will absolutely feel 'at home' the minute you walk through the front door ... Not too fancy ... Charming and relaxing ... Just right for everyone! It is our plan to have your entire Family happy and more than satisfied and ready to return during your next vacation.

All three bedrooms and the main, full bath are located on the upstairs level. Two of the bedrooms have Queen-size beds with new mattresses and bedding and new furnishings throughout. The third bedroom has a trundle bed with upgraded mattresses and shelves full of books and games for all ages.

On the main level is the living room with a comfy oversized, leather couch and an ottoman for total relaxing while watching tv above the stove mantle. There are two lovely chairs perfect for sitting and reading the evening away. The dining room has seating for six and fun artwork all around. We have purchased all new stainless steel appliances, new dishes and Calphalon pots and pans. The very roomy 1/2 bath is off of the kitchen. If we are ever 'missing anything' that you need, please send an email or text and we will do our best to have it for you during your next stay.

The cottage on Willamette is also available for 'Executive Stays' and 'Longer Vacation Stays' at a reduced rate.

We hope to see you very soon.

About Vickie Follick

We are originally from Kansas. In 1993 we decided to play hooky from our jobs for a few days and take a little get-away-vacation to Colorado ... just the two of us. A little less than three months after our 'mini-vacation' we had sold our Wichita Business, our home and one small investment property and moved our three almost-grown children and our grandson to the Colorado Springs area. We jokingly called it our (slightly early) mid-life-crises. Our Family and Friends thought we were a little NUTS ... But it turned out to be one of those wild and crazy things that turns into a Great (and slightly scary) Family Adventure ... That was over 20 years ago!!. In fact, our now grown children and grand children are still in Colorado and not interested in budging. We have owned rental property for twenty-five years but our move into this exciting new arena of Vacation Rentals has us feeling (almost) forty-something again. It has been so much fun putting together this lovely home so that when your Family and You come to Colorado and fall in love with this magical place, you will have a comfortable and homey place to stay. We encourage you to take lots of walks and see everything that the downtown Colorado Springs neighborhoods have to offer. And when you come home to your little Cottage on Willamette there is a quaint claw-foot tub waiting for you to 'bubble-up' in and two queen-sized beds for a great night's sleep so you can begin exploring all over again the next day. Who Knows ... Maybe you'll have your own (slightly early) mid-life-crises and move here too ... What month are you planning to visit ??

Why Vickie Follick chose Colorado Springs

This property IS the Perfect location for your next Colorado Springs getaway. Close to everything the area has to offer no matter which direction you are headed for the day.

What makes this house unique

After a great deal of house looking, the biggest thing that sold us on this house (besides the charm) is the location ... You ( and your Pup) can start every day with a ten minute walk to Starbucks ----be sure to ask for a free "puppy latte". OR head a few blocks east to Shooks Run Park where we always see walkers and joggers and bikers abound. It's like you always hear about real estate: Location, Location, Location. And it just doesn't get much better than the Cottage on Willamette.

This was one of the most charming, clean, and metculously kept VRBOs we have ever stayed in. Vickie did a wonderful job of providing a warm and welcoming venue for our 4-day family gathering - Colorado College graduation. The house layout is great for and the access terrific for Springs activities. Love the keyless entry too! Thank you!

Beautiful Cottage & Top Notch Accommodations

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is the perfect spot for a stay in Colorado Springs. We use HomeAway for all our vacation needs, and I must say, with the cottage you have it all and more. The home is beautiful and in a fabulous location. The cottage immediately makes you feel right at home. I would love to mimic the design of the home to my own actually! Not many vacation rentals provide many necessities, no need to worry with the cottage. Also, Vickie is an amazing host and really cares about her guests. I worked remotely the majority of the time in the springs, so my family and I truly made this our home for a week. We did get to visit the Garden of the Gods, along with the Cheyenne Zoo ( best giraffe exhibit interaction in the country) Both destinations are very short drives. Also, so many wonderful restaurants within walking distance. Perfect home, location, and host! You really can't go wrong!! Thanks again Vickie!

Owner's Response: Hi Bethany ..... Thank you so much for your very nice review. I am glad that The Cottage worked so well for your family. I worried about the not-so-perfect-weather for you but you managed to make lemons into lemonade and when things cleared up for you I was excited that your first choice was our amazing ZOO .... When we have Guests that have children, I always recommend the Zoo. Please come again and I will try to do better with the weather. :-) Vickie

Fabulous Cottage Home in downtown Colorado Springs

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Williamette Cottage for 3 weeks while visiting our Daughter, husband and their 4 month old baby. The house could not of been better for us. Everything you need is provided by the home owner, including 2 bicycles. The fenced in back yard was fabulous for our dog and also for grilling and enjoying a meal outside with a view of the mountains. The hammock and a Corn Hole Game was put to good use. The layout of the home is great with 3 bedrooms upstairs. On the main floor is a living room, dining room, kitchen and a back hall with laundry facilities. The home is clean and very well maintained. We enjoyed walking downtown to have a bite to eat, a coffee or a scoop of ice cream. We road our bikes around town and also on the Monument Valley Bike Trail. The trail is well maintained and goes a very long way. The keyless entry system is fabulous to use. No need to worry about a lost key. If you are looking to stay in Colorado Springs you can not do better than staying at the Cottage Home On Williamette.

Relaxing / comfortable home.

  • 4 of 5

Enjoyed our 6 night stay. Took advantage of outdoor table area for several meals and kitchen appliances allowed ease for meal preparation. Laundry unit allowed us to travel with less clothes and depart with clean clothes rather than bags of dirty laundry. All three beds were comfortable with ample blankets. Living room area cozy for tv/DVD watching. Relaxing vacation.

Awesome property! Close enough to walk downtown and driving distance to several amazing sites.

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for a week in March. The home had absolutely everything you would need. All the kitchen stuff and there was games and puzzles and movies and a private outdoor backyard with a cornhole game and bicycles to ride. One of the bedrooms was just like my granddaughters room at home filled with books to read and even toys for her to play with. The beds were so comfy and the house was decorated so cute! Plenty of towels and toiletries for the two bathrooms. The shower was very small though. It was inside of a clawfoot tub and a little challenging to get in and out of (it was a high step). The bathrooms were each stocked very well and included blowdryers. There was a laundry machine set with plenty of detergent and worked perfectly. We had a great time and made a lot of memories there. The traffic was Not too bad either

Beautiful Cottage

  • 5 of 5

The Cottage was wonderful. The pictures do not do it justice. So close to town, so clean, and we had everything we needed just like if we were at our own home. Vicky was great to work with. We will definitely stay there again next time we visit.
