Colorado Springs is the perfect Fall destination and the Cottage on Willamette is the perfect downtown location!! Colorado fall colors are spectacular. Enjoy day trips in to the mountains and a relaxing dinner at one of the dozens of restaurants in downtown Colorado Springs!

This lovely three bedroom, one and a half bath cottage is urban living at it's best. You are a ten minute walk to the heart of downtown Colorado Springs where you will find our treasured Acacia Park with Uncle Wilbur's Fountain in the summertime and an outdoor ice skating rink during the winter. Stroll down Tejon Street where there are restaurants and shops that will satisfy everyone in your family. The COSP night life is also downtown making your vacation home close to 'something for everyone'. Because you are in the middle of everything, You aren't far from anything: The renowned Patty Jewett Golf Course and Restaurant located just a mile from your Cottage (even if you don't play a round of golf it's a great place for a casual meal with stunning views); Old Colorado City with small boutiques and eateries; Manitou Springs with the Pikes Peak Cog Railway; the famous Garden of the Gods Park as well as several fun hiking trails at all levels. You will be in the perfect location for visiting your Student that is attending Colorado College and your Air Force Student will enjoy 'living downtown' while you are in the Springs visiting Him/Her.

We just purchased our Vacation Rental in 2014 and have had great fun furnishing and decorating it for Your enjoyment and comfort. You will absolutely feel 'at home' the minute you walk through the front door ... Not too fancy ... Charming and relaxing ... Just right for everyone! It is our plan to have your entire Family happy and more than satisfied and ready to return during your next vacation.

All three bedrooms and the main, full bath are located on the upstairs level. Two of the bedrooms have Queen-size beds with new mattresses and bedding and new furnishings throughout. The third bedroom has a trundle bed with upgraded mattresses and shelves full of books and games for all ages.

On the main level is the living room with a comfy oversized, leather couch and an ottoman for total relaxing while watching tv above the stove mantle. There are two lovely chairs perfect for sitting and reading the evening away. The dining room has seating for six and fun artwork all around. We have purchased all new stainless steel appliances, new dishes and Calphalon pots and pans. The very roomy 1/2 bath is off of the kitchen. If we are ever 'missing anything' that you need, please send an email or text and we will do our best to have it for you during your next stay.

The cottage on Willamette is also available for 'Executive Stays' and 'Longer Vacation Stays' at a reduced rate.

We hope to see you very soon.

About Vickie Follick

We are originally from Kansas. In 1993 we decided to play hooky from our jobs for a few days and take a little get-away-vacation to Colorado ... just the two of us. A little less than three months after our 'mini-vacation' we had sold our Wichita Business, our home and one small investment property and moved our three almost-grown children and our grandson to the Colorado Springs area. We jokingly called it our (slightly early) mid-life-crises. Our Family and Friends thought we were a little NUTS ... But it turned out to be one of those wild and crazy things that turns into a Great (and slightly scary) Family Adventure ... That was over 20 years ago!!. In fact, our now grown children and grand children are still in Colorado and not interested in budging. We have owned rental property for twenty-five years but our move into this exciting new arena of Vacation Rentals has us feeling (almost) forty-something again. It has been so much fun putting together this lovely home so that when your Family and You come to Colorado and fall in love with this magical place, you will have a comfortable and homey place to stay. We encourage you to take lots of walks and see everything that the downtown Colorado Springs neighborhoods have to offer. And when you come home to your little Cottage on Willamette there is a quaint claw-foot tub waiting for you to 'bubble-up' in and two queen-sized beds for a great night's sleep so you can begin exploring all over again the next day. Who Knows ... Maybe you'll have your own (slightly early) mid-life-crises and move here too ... What month are you planning to visit ??

Why Vickie Follick chose Colorado Springs

This property IS the Perfect location for your next Colorado Springs getaway. Close to everything the area has to offer no matter which direction you are headed for the day.

What makes this house unique

After a great deal of house looking, the biggest thing that sold us on this house (besides the charm) is the location ... You ( and your Pup) can start every day with a ten minute walk to Starbucks ----be sure to ask for a free "puppy latte". OR head a few blocks east to Shooks Run Park where we always see walkers and joggers and bikers abound. It's like you always hear about real estate: Location, Location, Location. And it just doesn't get much better than the Cottage on Willamette.

Wonderful stay in this cozy cottage with a perfect backyard!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Vickie for sharing your extremely cozy and comfortable cottage in a great location. You do not need to bring one thing other than your clothes when renting this cottage. Vickie has thought of everything possible to make your stay as much like home as possible. From a wonderfully stocked kitchen to the bathrooms and bedrooms making you feel like you are at home, to have a wide variety of games and reading materials and even a basket full of brochures on what to do while visiting Colorado Springs. Thank you again for your attentive and wonderful hospitality, my husband and I and our two Sheepadoodles thoroughly enjoyed our time in your dog friendly and thoughtfully appointed cottage!

This is our 2nd time staying at this darling home near downtown Colorado Springs. Vickie is an amazing host! The house provides all amenities you need, including a hammock, bikes and a corn hole game in the backyard. I love that Vickie provides you with a basket full of menus and brochures for restaurants and places to visit. We made use of the bikes a few times this go round, and walked into downtown for dinner. My daughter brought her best friend, Sophie her dog :), and Vickie was so accommodating, she set up a kennel and had food and water bowls at the house ready for Sophie's use. The furniture and beds are very comfortable. I can't say enough good things about the house and Vickie! I highly recommend staying here while in Colorado Springs!

Owner's Response: Hi Carrie :-) Thank you so much for the terrific review ! I love all of our Guests and it is so much fun to have returning Guests .... especially AFA families and CC families .... everyone is so happy just to be together for their special celebrations. I'm also happy that the weather cooperated for your long-weekend. Of course, it will be fun to have you back any and every time you are in the Springs. Here is hoping the weather around the entire country settles down and we can begin to help one another rebuild .... Thanks again for staying with us. Vickie

Lovely, comfortable, clean and welcoming rental

  • 5 of 5

Our host, Vickie, welcomed us within minutes of receiving our reservation. She touched base with us before our arrival to let us know the home was available for check in a few hours earlier than our contract. She responded to every text within minutes and provided suggestions for places to shop, dine and places to go.

The house, itself, is very clean and comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cookware and serving ware. Bedrooms had comfortable beds and nice quality linens. Backyard is small but prettily decorated with lovely flowers, a hammock, outdoor dining table, and a Weber grill.

My family of 4 agreed that it was one of our nicest rentals.

Thank you Vickie and Bruce!!!

Charming cottage with all the details covered

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the cottage on Willamette for a full month. The hosts had thought of every detail needed to make our stay wonderful. We arrived to a sparkling clean home. We found the kitchen had all the gear needed (even spices) to allow us to prepare meals right there. We (and our dogs) loved the backyard, complete with grill, hammock, corn hole game and shade tree! The beds and linens were top notch. Loved that they even provided lots of reading material. We loved the area so much that we decided during this stay to buy a seasonal residence nearby. Highly recommend this host and this home!

I hope it goes without saying that we really enjoyed having you stay at The Cottage and we are both very excited at the prospect of having you live nearby at least part of the time. We envision enjoying many 'coffee meetings' at The Goose. Keep us posted .... WHEN!!!

Cozy cottage with in minutes of all fun things!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying in the cottage. We have two children and they loved it as well. We had plenty of room inside and outside. We spent many a night just hanging out in the lovely back yard. The location was with in minutes of all excursions in Colorado Springs. We were already planning a trip back to Colorado Springs and staying in the cottage again!

Great house, great location!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this house! It was beautifully decorated and very clean. Vicki checked in on us a few times to make sure we had everything that we needed and doing ok. Definitely going above and beyond. When I booked this house I didn't realize how close it was to so many awesome attractions. While we are there we went to seven falls, cave of the winds, in the garden of the gods. So close and convenient! And our kids loved them all! Also when we were ready to eat and do a little shopping old downtown Colorado Springs was just down the road. And to top it off you have a great view of the mountains from the street. We were in awe every time we pulled out to leave the neighborhood. The next time we come back to Colorado Springs we will definitely be staying here!
