Beautiful getaway in the mountains, amazing views, quiet and private

Jo-Anne was very helpful! She was prompt to answer emails when we had questions before arrival and flexible with check in and check out times.

The property was immaculate. There was more than enough space for our two families and our dog. This is the perfect place to get away and enjoy a quiet retreat in the mountains.

The walk to the lake/dock was approx 20 minutes down the steep road. Other residents in the area used atv's to get down to the lake.

We will definitely return!

beautiful view and great home

the large deck and windows do show off the view which is one of the most gorgeous we'd ever seen. the home is very clean and having so many bathrooms was nice- owner was very friendly and helpful- would absolutely stay again. only comment would be that it's not "on the lake" if you wanted a property you could swim at or hang out on a dock- it's a very long hike down to water thAt we didn't even attempt

Amazing Log Home

My family and I rented this log home March 11th-13th and absolutely loved it there. We had 7 adults and 3 dogs with us. There was more than enough space for everyone. The drive up to the home is a bit daunting. Getting there is easy, it's just that the road that leads up to the house is a bit of a trek. We had to go in the back way because there had been some rain in the few days prior so the dirt road was quite muddy. You definitely needed a vehicle that could handle a bit of off road terrain, sharp turns and a bit of a steep incline (I wouldn't recommend bringing a car up). We had a small SUV, and two half ton trucks that made it up the road just fine.

The house is spectacular. It's waaaaaay better then what the pictures look like. Beautiful open concept main floor with a huge window overlooking Koocanusa. Very large wrap around deck with patio furniture and a big BBQ. The kitchen is very well stocked and in great working condition. There is a large dining room table to seat 8 people. In the living room part there is a comfy leather couch and two lounging chairs. There is also a wood burning fire place that provides TONS of heat and it was nice to look at! On the main floor there are two bedrooms, one is a bit larger than the other, both have ensuite bathrooms and queen size beds. Down stairs there are two more bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and an ensuite bathroom and the fourth bedroom has three single beds. There is a bathroom outside of the fourth bedroom with a stand up shower. Down stairs has a large couch and a TV area that you can watch movies on, there is no cable/satellite. There is also a large laundry room if needed.

The only down fall of the property was that there were tons of stink bugs in the house. We were constantly killing them and swatting them with the fly swatter. Initially I was pretty grossed out, but you kind of get use to them, haha.

The property around the house is very nice, super secluded. There are lots of places to walk around, spectacular views of Koocanusa. I would absolutely recommend this place!!

Hidden Gem

Everything about our stay in this property over thanksgiving was perfect. We were two families with 4 kids and two dogs looking to get away for some peace and quiet and that's exactly what we got. The weather was great which meant we got to really enjoy the outdoor space. The views,whether inside or outside of the house were amazing. The house itself was spacious, clean and very well stocked. The pictures of the propert really don't do enough justice. Both full days we were there we walked down to the river (about 20 minutes) and picnicked as well as fished. We did have stink bugs in the house but they certainly weren't an issue to us. With no wifi and cable it ensured our two families had lots of quality time. If I could of added one thing to make our stay better it would have been a hot tub as the stars were fantastic! We would definitely love to return.

Highly Recommended

My family of 8 adults stayed at this property for 2 nights over the summer. We were all pleasantly surprised when we walked in at how beautiful the log house was and the scenery that surrounds it. The pictures didn't do it justice. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious and almost every couple had their own en-suite bathroom. The house was very, very clean. It was truly fully equipped with coffee/tea/condiments etc. When we arrived, Joanne welcomed us and went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. She truly cared that we had a great vacation.

It's important for others to know that the lake is stunning to look at from all angles at the house, but if you prefer to walk to it, it's down a steep hill, and would take 20-25 minutes to get to. If you have four-wheelers it's not really an issue but could be hard for someone to travel to/from the lake without one. It's certainly not impossible to walk up, it just left us exhausted :)

We decided to take the truck to the nearby boat ramp and stay/play there in the water instead.

Overall - highly, highly recommended property!
