About Annette and Jeff Pilkington

Our family of six lives in Colorado and has skiied Winter Park since 2005. We have three rental properties, including two 2BR rental units at the base.

Annette and Jeff Pilkington purchased this condo in 2005

Why Annette and Jeff Pilkington chose Winter Park Area

We purchased this condo to enjoy weekends and holidays on the ski slopes, but have found we love to spend time there in the summer as much as the winter because we enjoy attending the music festivals and bike races in the friendly, small-town atmosphere offered in Winter Park.

What makes this condo unique

We love the cozy 'up in the trees' feeling we get staying at this condo. The view from every window is majestic and relaxing. Outside the condo, our children play for hours building ski jumps, snowmen and riding on sleds. We enjoy snow shoeing on the trails right outside our condo. In the summer we hike and bike on the trails right outside our door. During ski season, the free shuttle bus picks us up right outside our building, so getting to the slopes is quick and easy.

Great fun had by all!

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of 3 families(12 people) staying in the condo. We had plenty of space for the little time we were actually at the condo. Condo was clean and in good order when we arrived. We used the free Beaver Village Condo bus each day going and coming from the ski resort. It picks up and drops you off right outside the condo. We also used the town's free shuttle service each evening for dinner to Cooper Square. It also picked us up right outside the condo. These were both very helpful since we didn't have a vehicle. Jeff was also quick to correspond with me. We are already planning another trip to Winter Park for next winter and hopefully we'll get to stay in this condo again.

Pros and Cons

  • 3 of 5

This location has its pros and cons.

- Owner very friendly and easy to work with

- Location was ideal

- Reasonable price

- Sleeping arrangements were great

- Lots of firewood to use

- Beautiful views

- Great balcony

- Clubhouse was fantastic with great pool and hot tubs. You can even borrow movies.

- It was a challenge to accommodate more than 8 people in the common areas and kitchen

- General fit and finish need some work. Had sticking doors, locks that don't work, wobbly toilet, a broken blind, etc.

- No A/C, but having the windows open cooled the place down quite nicely. However, there are train tracks nearby and the train goes by a few times a day which made it really noisy at times. (This is probably a summer-only issue)

The pros outweigh the cons and most of the cons can be dealt with.

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

We went over New Years with another family. The condo was fantastic. Great location, clean, nice updates, and everything we needed supplied. Jeff and Annette were extremely accommodating and available, as was the staff at checking and the pool.

The perfect place for a life changing weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Myself and 10 of my friends stayed here over labor day weekend for a few days of trail running and connection in the unspeakably beautiful town of Winter Park. It was one of the best travel weekends of my life. We had so much fun and are already planning our trip back next year to be a part of the Hideaway 100 race. The condo was PERFECT for us. Everything was clean and comfortable. The 3 bathrooms were recently renovated and made life so much easier for our big group. Jeff was great to deal with, accommodating and quick to respond whenever I had a question. I'd highly recommend this place!

Great place to stay for family!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed here over Spring Break and it was great! As previous reviewers have noted, owners are fantastic and very easy to work with. We only had our family of five and the condo was very spacious as far as the bedrooms went, in fact it was really too big. The living area was fine for us and the kitchen was great. We were not sure about the location having never been to Winter Park, but it was fine not being on the mountain itself. The shuttle service to and from the mountain runs like clockwork, pickup is right outside the condo, and is very easy to use. We drove the first day and parked at the mountain base, which was a mistake! Use the shuttle -- it's much easier!! Winter Park is a great place for a family to ski -- the mountain is very fun and great places to shop and eat both at the mountain and in town. We also took a snowmobile tour with Grand Adventures which was awesome and a highlight of our trip. (If you go, ask for Henry!)

The only very slight downside to the condo is it would have been nice to have a W/D in the unit. But for the value, everything about this place is completely worth it! Thanks for a great week!

Great space and location

  • 5 of 5

This condo was very spacious! Our large family stayed very comfortably. We have been coming out to Winter Park for 30 years and stayed at this condo for the first time this year. We absolutely will be returning. We would love to have a washer/dryer but otherwise love the condo. There were plenty of kitchen essentials to cook any meal for the family throughout our stay. HIGHLY recommend! The owners are very quick to respond for any questions/concerns also.
