Amazing weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

we had a little family reunion with members who came from Europe, children, teenagers and parents that are forever young at heart:) we had a great time. the cottage itself is very well designed and furnished and kept. the scenery is beautiful from almost every room in the cottage. it was 9 of us and there was plenty of room inside and on the deck. our young kids did not come inside for much as they were having a blast in the water, snorkeling, swimming, running around, spending time around the bonfire, fishing... we also spent couple of days on the sandbank beaches which is 5 minutes drive with sand dunes, rolling down the sand hills into the water; shallow shores were great as we were not too worried about the kids safety:) beautiful wineries around. the drive from Toronto was very peaceful and the scenery is also breathtaking. it is a very short drive to cute towns with grocery stores/pharmacy/etc. so you can come very light and pick up what you feel like cooking that day from the farms and stores. both front and back garden is also beautiful. I cant say enough about the place. it will surprise you how easy it is to feel like you are home but away:) I am already booking for a full week next year!

Ps.you just have to make sure you bring water shoes as it is a bit rocky in front of the cottage but the beaches are white and soft sand!

Fantastic Summer Holiday with Family

  • 5 of 5

My entire family just returned from a truly wonderful stay at this lovely home on West Lake. We were 11 in our group and the house was perfect for everyone's needs. The owners were quick to respond to any and all questions and very provided helpful tips for a wonderful stay in the Sandbanks region.

Their home is 5 minutes to Sandbanks Provincial Park. We spent our entire week on the beach enjoying the most beautiful beach in Ontario. The home is on West Lake and and has a beautiful view of the water (most amazing sunsets!). The house is very spacious with many sitting areas that provide privacy and tranquility from the large group if desired. The kitchen is state of the art and has all necessary cooking gear. The tables are lovely and both indoor and outdoor table comfortable sit 10-11 people.

I cannot recommend this home enough. Everyone in my family loved it and cannot wait to return to this beautiful spot next year!

A solid weekend for a reunion with classmates

  • 5 of 5

6 of us rented the cottage for our annual reunion, and the cottage provided everything we needed.

The water down by the dock was nice, not swampy. The lawn and back porch gave us a great place to hang out when we weren't on the dock. And we arranged for the nearby wakeboard school to drive us over to the sand dunes for an amazing day in the sun. On our final night, we decided we wanted a little change from how we spent our previous evenings (bonfire, dock) and hopped on a shuttle bus to a local bar, the Hay Loft. There's plenty to do in the county.

All of the cottage amenities, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. are better than you'd need.

We loved it.

  • 5 of 5

This house and yard are ideal for a lakeside getaway. Inside the house is very open and roomy with comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen and plenty of games and entertainment options. The Nerf arsenal came in particularly handy for us on one rainy afternoon. Everything is clean and well cared for. Outside again there is plenty of room and, along with a full sized gas grill there are lots seating options -- a large outdoor dining table and lounge chairs on the deck, Adirondack chairs around a fire pit, a charming pair of facing gliders under a shelter and lots of dock space for dangling your feet in the water. The neighborhood is peaceful and it's very close to Sandbanks Provincial Park with its amazing dunes and gorgeous beaches. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions we had and made us very comfortable.

Great Vavation Away

  • 5 of 5

Amazing property! Four bedrooms, two full baths and a heavenly shower. All dishes required there, beautiful BBQ and deck. Ample room for large groups. Great location, short driving distance to everything in the county. All electronics needed, but the weather was beautiful so wasn't used. Shoreline rocky, but still an easy swim with the dock. All six of my group had an amazing stay, the neighbours were quiet, water was beautiful. Would definitely stay again in a heartbeat.

Excellent Girls Weekend Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This place is absolutely perfect. I stayed with a group of girls this past weekend, and everyone was thrilled with the place. It is very spacious and clean, and the views are amazing. The pictures do not do it justice.

Would recommend for any sort of vacation: family, friends, couples, etc. From the moment we pulled up to the house we were mesmerized. The landscaping is beautiful, and the house is adorable. When you walk in the front door, you can see right through to the amazing views of the water. Huge open living area, and tons of dining space. Kitchen is lovely, and fully stocked with everything you might need, and plenty of everything. Very spacious rooms, and updated washer and dryer. Fireplace is beautiful, and the owners made us feel right at home. Towels were even placed on all of our beds before we arrived - nice touch! Very bright and spacious. And the best part - the backyard!! BBQ has been recently updated, there is a huge patio table, a couple of lounge chairs in which you could tan or just lay down and read a book or take in the beautiful view. The deck has two tiers, and there is another small patio set on the small tier, and the entire deck is surrounded by beautiful landscaping. There is a fire pit, and you will see a ton of places to buy fire wood on the side of the road on the drive in (trust me - you will not miss them!). There are also many places that sell fresh fruit, veggies, etc. on the way, and we even were able to get farm fresh eggs! Very trustworthy people around - you just put your money in the can and take your eggs from the cooler. The house is right on the water, and there is a small dock and a paddle boat, and the sunset at night is truly breathtaking. I would say this place is located in the perfect area, central to everything you would want to do! The owners seem really great, and very personable. Unforgettable experience - would love to go back!
