Why Matthew and Courtney chose Manchester Center

Our house is across the street. We use this house for friends and family so you can trust that we care about the house and furnishings.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Our property is a 38 acre farm and the famous Battenkill River runs through the property. We are willing to discuss fishing privileges with renters and offer access to our canoe. We have a large organic garden and, depending on the time of year, may be able to allow access to the garden's bounty.

Great house in beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

This was our family’s first winter season rental and we were not disappointed one bit. The house is full of great historical character and yet balances it well with modern conveniences. As a winter home, it is warm and welcoming for up to two families without a problem. There is a fire burning pizza oven in the kitchen that is great and a huge fireplace to relax by after a day of skiing (+1 FP in the livingroom). The owner lives on the “compound” and has a caretaker so we were never worried about any problems at the house. The garage has a dog run that makes it easy to let the dog out safely. High-speed WiFi and cable TV help pass the evenings too. The house is close to the great town of Manchester that has a full Shaw’s, wine & beer shops, good places to eat and shop at the outlets. Home of Orvis, this is a destination we intend to hit more in the future. I cannot say enough nice things about the owners... truly wonderful people!

It was wonderful

The house is lovely! Our only issue was phone service which made it a little difficult to connect efficiently with our friends. Wifi may have improved that

Charming house in great location with amazing owners

  • 5 of 5

The owners of this house are the best!!! From my initial inquiry to the day we left, they were responsive, welcoming and a pleasure to get to know.

The house is a true antique with lots of charm and character. Everyone in our group loved their respective bedrooms and we enjoyed time together watching the Olympics in the cozy living room. It was a great house for us.

The owners were so cordial and friendly and caring....

We felt like we had known them for years as they made us feel so incredibly welcome.

We had a wedding we were attending and had 4 year old twins who were so excited with there room and all the amenities of this fantastic property.

You honestly couldn't of asked for a better charming and wonderful house for our entire family and truly look forward to our return❤️

This property is the real deal and so much more than advertised (the picture of the property doesn't do it justice) which was a wonderful and pleasant surprise for a large Family from Texas.

We have traveled the Globe and the overall scenery was breathtaking to say the least.

Coudos and 6 stars if it exists!

Thanks again will be back.

Fantastic! A piece of Heaven!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage setting is one of the most beautiful in Vermont. If you are a historic buff or a Vermont lover this rental is for you. If you appreciate beauty, then book today! Updated appliances in the kitchen are nestled among the old floorboards and colonial fireplaces. Fresh linens and blankets, state of the art wi-fi and TV are just a few of the many perks of staying in an 1840's (maybe earlier) home. The owners live across the street and are so helpful and accommodating. Can't believe how lucky we were to rent this gem. We will be back!

Magnificent Christmas vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family spent Christmas week this past year in the lovely Vermont house on River Road just outside of Manchester. The accommodations were ideal: four bedrooms, many bathrooms, lovely sheets, blankets, comfortable furniture, great fireplaces (and far more free firewood to use in them than one can imagine, all stacked up neatly in the garage). With the snow that fell, it was a "winter wonderland". The house, while old and traditional, has been modernized completely and required nothing more than some food in the refrigerator. Best of all, there are three major ski resorts within easy driving distance, which our kids thoroughly enjoyed. Incidentally, Manchester is a lovely town with many attractions (great shopping!). And there are many first-rate restaurants if one wants to dine out. We haven't tried this house in the other seasons yet, but based on what we now know, it's the ideal getaway for anytime during the year. AW, Philadelphia, PA.
