Walk out the front door, your on Washington, turn to the left and in 2-3 minutes you'll be surrounded by the lights and sounds of the venues. Directly behind the building is the world famous St. Louis City Museum, an attraction for the entire family, kinds and adults alike. If you've never heard of this space, Google it, seriously, it's quite amazing. You are less than a 10 minute walk from the convention center, and a 15 minute walk to Busch Stadium, and the hockey arena.
