Bedrooms Studio
Space 400 sq. ft.
Property type studio

About the property

This studio apartment has all the amenities and more. An EPIC hot tub, outdoor fireplace and a TIKI bar is that is BANANAS!

The studio is attached to a main house of which my husband and our 3 lovely dogs live upstairs. It is across a private dirt road from the railroad tracks that are active several times throughout the day and night. We are amongst the trees, down the hill from schweitzer and 4 miles to downtown; this little studio is superlious!

It is cozy, inviting and serene. Along with all the comfortable amenities; 1000 sq ft back deck with an awesome tiki bar, charcoal BBQ, 65 jet hot tub with cool lighting scenes and a fireplace, bicycles, hammock and a fire pit for cowboy cooking. I have also stocked the kitchen with everything a cook would need. This place is meant for relaxation. Located on a half acre of land at the base of Schweitzer Mountain. A quick 10 min ride up the mountain (or a 2 min walk to the Schweitzer shuttle that runs every 30 min during season) for skiing, mountain biking, hiking etc. or 10 min drive to town for great restaurants, bars and shops.

In spring, summer & fall go Kayaking down sand creek, take a pend oreille lake cruise or choose from tons of other outdoor activities!

There is a DVD player with a small collection of DVD's for your enjoyment. 200 channels from DISH network is available, including HBO, AMC, HISTORY, SHOW AND ESPN. Satellite WIFI is available for e mail and internet surfing and it can be slow at times.

The main bed is a comfy queen suited with warm flannels sheets for winter. The other bed is a day bed with a trundle bed that sleeps 2 (both single beds) also with cozy flannel sheets. The studio has a shower bathroom, kitchenette, TV, DVD, WIFI. The studio can accommodate 2 very comfortably and up to 4 people with a personal space reality check. ;)

There are plenty of fun and crazy games, amazing books and classic comedies and Drama DVD's to watch from my small collection. I think you will truly enjoy your stay!

About Danielle Caniglia

I was born and raised in Los Angeles then lived in downtown San Diego for 22 years. I have recently relocated to Sandpoint. I am a restaurant owner for 18 years. I love entertaining and hospitality. I have traveled extensively throughout Europe, South America, Canada, Asia and the United States. I have 3 dogs, a German Shepard, a mini Golden Doodle and a Maltese/ chihuahua mix. All rescues. My husband and I and our crew of hounds live on property. We have created a cozy space to relax in, get some work done and to play in. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do.

Danielle Caniglia purchased this studio in 2007

Why Danielle Caniglia chose Sandpoint

I visited Sandpoint 9 years ago for the first time and fell in love instantly. I looked around and saw a majestic lake, an amazing ski mountain and the wonders of nature all around. I was super impressed with the restaurants and great wine at the local winery. I have used this house as a sanctuary to get away from the antics of downtown San Diego where I lived.

What makes this studio unique

I completely remodeled the place when I first bought it. I took pictures as to what it was (those are in the house manual). I have a great passion in creating a comfortable, cozy and inviting space. I liked that this house was just outside of town and there aren't many people around. Its a very quiet neighborhood. Its wonderful to sit out on the porch at night and listen to the silence of the night.

The fire pit is awesome. Even on the cold nights its wonderful to have a campfire then jump in the jacuzzi. Bring wood and marshmallows. Its all set up with chairs. In the kitchen is hotdog/marshmellow sticks and a lay over grill (in the garage) for campfire cooking.

cute studio

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed our cozy stay here. The kitchen was well stocked & I was very thankful for a well stocked first aid kit in the bathroom since I was careless and cut my finger.

The bathrobes to use for the hot tub were wonderful, as of course the hot tub itself.

Communication was great and the host provides plenty of tips for things to do around town.

The train did not bother us at all.

Very comfortable and as described.

  • 5 of 5

This was a very cozy comfortable stay. The cherry on top was the back yard paradise with fireplace, jacuzzi and tiki bar. The owner made sure we could access it by digging out tons of snow to make a path from the apartment entrance. The location worked great for skiing also. Would stay again definitely.

Easy Ski Access

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed or stay - very convenient to skiing (either drive up or via shuttle). Nice accommodations with everything you could need - well equipped kitchen. Ear plugs provided were a bonus for trains and just wanting to sleep in! Owners very nice and helpful! The bed is very comfortable, and the hot tub was fantastic for old bones after a day of hard skiing - private / beautiful!!

Best was allowing our dog to be with us - what a blessing!

Thank you so much!!

Welcoming and cozy!

  • 5 of 5

The owners were very welcoming and accommodating! The place is quaint and cozy. We wish we would have taken advantage of the hot tub but we're too tired by the end of a long day snowboarding. Loved how easy it was to clean up at the end of our stay as they don't require much. We would come back in a heartbeat!!!

We are located just a few miles outside of downtown Sandpoint or 9 miles to the top of Schweitzer Ski resort. Downtown Sandpoint is a quaint town with plenty of shopping, good restaurants, bars, a great winery and brewery. Its a 4 seasons kind of town with boating, hiking, mountain biking in summer and fall, skiing, snow mobiling, snow shoeing, snow boarding and much more in winter.

Take a beautiful drive around the lake in spring, summer and fall to the many picnicking spots and make sure to keep and eye out for Big horn sheep and bald eagles!

Sandpoint is a beautiful setting to get out in the magic of nature and regroup, rejuvenate and revitalize yourself. In summer I love to take the Pend Oreille lake cruise that includes dinner where we enjoy wine and lovely food from a local caterer.

Winter time is the time to hit the slopes that is usually full of fresh powder. Whatever your game is Sandpoint has it for you.
