About Andrea

We have enjoyed traveling to Lake Placid since we met. Now that we are married and have a family, we enjoy sharing our love for the Adirondack region with our two children. Our goal is to climb all 46 of the high peaks by the time our children go to college. Each year we enjoy adding more peaks to our log book. A few years ago we started skiing, and enjoy the incredible world class skiing at Whiteface Mountain! We fell in love with this house because it has it all! We can access all the ADK summer and winter outdoor adventure opportunities within a short drive, walk to the village of Lake Placid, or sit on the patio and enjoy the quiet beauty that the Adirondacks offers. We enjoy meticulously maintaining the property so that it has everything we could possibly need for recovering after skiing or a hike or just relaxing and enjoying nature. We hope once you come to visit you will agree too!

Andrea purchased this house in 2014

Why Andrea chose Adirondack Mountains

After spending the last several years coming to Lake Placid for family vacations, we decided that our love for the area was certainly permanent. Lake Placid has great outdoor adventure, but also wonderful restaurants and cultural experiences. We saw this brand new home, with all of the modern conveniences and space for everyone right on the water! We like to invite friends and families to vacation with us, so a home (and a dining table) that could accommodate 12 was a must! We bought our home in the fall of 2014 and have already had many great family vacations and are building wonderful memories.

What makes this house unique

Some people love to be on the water for fishing and adventure access, and others may want to walk to town to shop and eat-we all get what we want with this property. The house has a lot of space and when we have large groups there is plenty of room for each adults and the children. Our house can accommodate 3 families of four, or four couples who want a get away. The kitchen is large and overlooks the great room, so we can relax, cook and socialize all together. Our entire family loves to hike and ski, so being at our vacation home in the summer and in the winter is fabulous! All of the fun and adventure is right out our front door-the largest challenge in fitting it all in during one vacation!

Killer View!

  • 5 of 5

This home was beautiful and extremely well appointed! It was the perfect size for 2 families. Whiteface was easily accessible - and we felt like we were secluded while in fact we were so close to town. Lots of activities in Lake Placid proper we skied Whiteface, toured the Olympic ski jump (and watched the aerial jumpers train) and did the new toboggan run. Andrea was lovely to work with and offered guidance to activities and town. This home was meticulously clean, and well decorated.

Lovely house for a family trip to Lake Placid

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week here in early January and found the house to be perfect for 2 families to comfortably stay in. Nicely designed and tastefully furnished, and the hot tub was a hit with the kids and adults after skiing at Whiteface. Thanks to Andrea for lots of helpful suggestions for activities and restaurants in the area. We would definitely like to return!

Spectacular Property!!!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed here the week before Christmas for a little family get away which was much needed. The Cutt home is absolutely beautiful. The view behind the home was just enchanting. Every room was warm and cozy including the bedrooms which included top notch bedding and comfortable beds. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, which was a pleasure for us because we are a family that likes to stay in and cook sometimes. The dining room table was extremely large and able to fit 9 adults with ease, and left plenty of room for more. The outside hot tub was squeaky clean and overlooks the river behind the house. This house is very spacious, yet inviting, warm and comfortable. It snowed while we were there and the driveway was plowed right away and there was no problem getting around. You can easily walk into town however it was snowy and extremely cold out while we were there so we chose to drive. We enjoyed watching World Cup Bobsledding at the Olympic complex while the rest of our family snowboarded on White Face Mountain. Our stay included bowling, snowmobiling, some shopping and a night out at The Cottage with some late night pizza in town, and we also took advantage of cooking in, playing games and enjoying the hot tub! If you are looking for a Winter Wonderland to escape too, you will not be disappointed at this home. Fantastic!

This was such a great property. It left us never wanting to leave and planning our next return. It's warm, comfortable and inviting. The details from decor to luxuries of hot tub to simple touches of games made this a 5 star place.

7 middle aged guys cycling for a week made this cozy place our home while in Lake Placid. NEW... WARM...Beautifully decorated... PEACEFUL... COMFORTABLE...GREAT LOCATION...spacious... well equipped with everything you need. Backyard overlooks lake with hot tub, bonfire pit, and chairs...Close to downtown- not really walking distance but biking or drive takes 5 minutes....All the guys were enthusiastic about staying here!

Beautiful home, convenient to town and local attractions/hikes, owner a pleasure to work with

  • 5 of 5

We had a terrific experience staying at this property. The house was beautiful inside and out, spacious and immaculate. The owner has done a wonderful job making the house feel like home with its warm and cozy rustic decor, well stocked kitchen with plenty of dishes, pots and pans and kitchen gadgets, comfortable beds and nicely appointed bathrooms. The property itself was lovely, and we enjoyed sitting outside on the back patio and appreciating the serene river views. There are too many nice amenities to list but a few are the hot tub with the fun colorful lights, deck off of the master bedroom, extra large fridge in the garage which was great for storing bulky items like cases of water, an AeroBed in the master bedroom which made the master bedroom just perfect for our family of four (with 1 kid on the pullout bed and 1 kid on the AeroBed, which was a better option for us than having one of our kids sleeping on the extra twin mattress in the first floor bedroom with the grandparents), and helpful books on nearby hiking trails.

The house is conveniently located within a long walk or very short drive to town and with a large supermarket (Hannaford) and drug store just minutes away. (We didn't need to use the free shuttle bus because the town wasn't crowded when we were there and we could easily find parking there, but I can see how the bus would be a very nice perk during peak season.) Even with its close proximity to town and other conveniences, once you enter the neighborhood (and this house is at the end of a cul de sac) you feel like you're staying in a mountain home (best of both worlds!).

The owner was delightful to work with. She responded promptly to all of my emails, and when I asked for her thoughts on things to do and places to eat, she took the time to send me a detailed email with lots of great suggestions.

This is not a criticism as it really is about the nature of the property, but we did not use the kayaks or the canoe (although we were looking forward to it) because we thought it would be difficult to carry them down the steps and then, since there was just a very narrow beach (and the dock sat a few feet higher), to get them into the water. There are so many other great things about this rental that this was not a big issue for us, but I thought this would help set expectations.

In brief, this home is highly recommended. Definitely our first choice to stay if we (hopefully) return to the area for vacation.
