Private Beachfront w/ Tennis Court on 11+ Acres in Amagansett - RR# 16-1,819

Bedrooms 5
Space 4,000 sq. ft.
Property type house

About the property

New in 2014 - 5 bedroom, 7 bathroom, private beach and tennis court

This stunning “beach” house overlooks Gardiners Bay. A quintessential summer home, but perfect for any season. It is available for rental year round as well. The house is set on the dunes and offers 180 degrees of mesmerizing water views. The bay water is warm and perfect for swimming, boating and paddle boarding or enjoy the pristine beach for walking and looking for shells. Relish an early morning cup of coffee on the expansive deck as you watch the sunrise or maybe with a glass of wine as the sun sets.

The house has 3 connected but separate living areas: There is the main house and two wings (east and west). There are five bedrooms and 7 baths (all with showers and 2 with tubs as well). Three of the bedrooms have king beds and two are furnished with two twins each.

All the action takes place in the main house. Here you will find the Great Room with all encompassing views of sea and sky. An open concept room with a cathedral ceiling and large glass sliders to the deck and beach. The living area has comfy furnishings, a TV and a gas fireplace. The cooks kitchen has plenty of counter space. Two sinks, 2 dishwashers, stainless appliances, wine fridge, and a center island that seats 6 or head for the dining table that expands to seat twelve. Meals can also be prepared on the grill outside on the deck.

The house is air conditioned thru out with ceiling fans for the more temperate days but you will probably find yourself lounging on the deck watching the boats sail by and enjoying the quiet. Outdoor living is a summer must and the deck is equipped for it. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner outside on the teak table or relax on the numerous arm chairs. A wide set of stairs is a great spot for group photos and then off to the breach for a swim or sail.

The main house has a bedroom(king) with a private bath and a cozy den with a TV and private bath. The lower level offers an entertainment room, excellent for TV watching, playing games, reading or a little office work. This space offers it all. A big comfy sectional couch and some built in lounging spaces plus room for little ones to run around. Always good to have a 'getaway or rainy day' place. The laundry room, a full bath and mud room finish off this level which is also accessible from the west garage.

The wings are identical and connected to the main house by wide hallways. Each wing has 2 bedrooms (one with a king and the other with 2 twins). The king bedrooms have water views and TVs and the twins have a southern exposure. Each bedroom has their own toilet and vanity and then shares a large shower and soaking tub..privacy in tact with pocket doors. Or..for a quick shower after a swim there are 2 outdoor showers right off the hallways on the deck.

The house is named 'Pepperidge' after the trees that you pass on the drive in. Our family first came to this area of Long Island in the early 1900's and have enjoyed it ever since. We are numerous and there are many cousins and friends strewn about this local area called 'Devon'. Perhaps you may meet one or two and if you do - they will know this hexagonal house as the Rowe house, or the very locals might even remember "Ferryland."

Step From The Beach!

  • 5 of 5

I rented the house for my family for the first 3 weeks of September. The views and proximity to the beach is truly one of a kind. The house offers a fair amount of privacy along with wonderful amenities. I was able to bring my family along with my wife's parents and there was still room to spare! It's ideally laid out and offers a ton of room to hang out including a finished basement. When we arrived at the house it was professionally cleaned and it felt like we were staying at a resort. There's no shortage of activities at this house including tennis, swimming, fishing, boating, etc. The house is also close to downtown Amagansett where there's shopping and dining options. My favorite part of the house is the massive wrap around deck. We ate almost every meal on the deck while gazing at the spectacular sunsets. You will not be disappointed staying here!

Breathtaking - What a View!

  • 5 of 5

This house is perfect, my wife and I got to have it all to ourselves for a few days, it definitely works as a honeymoon/anniversary spot very private..Great days just viewing the view, reading, sunning, etc. The house is very neat and tidy and has everything you need. Out of the way with great restaurants nearby.. Our 4 children plus 3 little ones and spouses joined us and the activities, swimming, boating, beach combing, fishing...A few day trips, Montauk Point Light House, the ocean to surf, local fairs and a lot of "deck" time deciding what event should be next. We shall return - I think maybe next time in the Fall..

One of the most amazing properties I've been to

  • 5 of 5

I rented this house for 3 months in the Fall and can truly say that its spectacular. One of the most special places I've stayed. House is well laid out for groups and families, property is great, beach is right outside the door, tennis court is really nice. Loved the ocean on the bay side. Much easier to get boats out on the water. Definitely plan to be back.

Second year renting in a row and can't say enough - truly a gem. Extraordinary property with amazing views and ridiculous sunsets. Steps to the beach, we played tennis every day and grilled out on the deck at sunset. House is set up perfectly for multiple couples/families and is less than five minute to the store or the ocean! Kids loved playing all day in the bay and roasting marshmellows on the beach at night. We will hopefully be returning again in 2015.
