Come to enjoy a beautifully decorated 2br 2bath apartment in a Harlem brownstone! The apartment occupies a full bottom floor, and opens to a private back yard, for the guests to enjoy after a day in the city.
You enter the apartment through a private (!) entrance, few steps down. The apartment, beautifully and artistically decorated (by an architect), sleeps 4 people in 2 rooms, each sleeps 2 people. One room with a queen size bed and one room with a full size bed, both with new and very good mattresses. There are two full bathrooms (one with a bathtub and one with a shower) and a kitchenette..
The big room is huge and also has a corner sectional luxurious suede sofa with a chaise-longue, a rocking armchair, a wood dining table for 6, coffee table, side tables, a small desk, a big closet and a TV . The small room - also has a rocking armchair, a desk, a small wardrobe and a TV.
The kitchenette has a refrigerator, a microwave oven, an electric kettle, an electric hot plate, a toaster, an electric coffee percolator, stove top espresso maker cooking ware and servings for six
The garden is accessible from the big room. The private back yard has an iron cast round table for 6.
The apartment is very comfortable for 4 but I could easily use a free floor space in the big room, to add another mattress - if needed . The high speed WIFI is very easy to connect to ( I shall leave the code in the apartment) The guests enjoy spending time in the apartment (between and after visiting the city 's tourist attractions), the beautiful ambiance, the peaceful quiet place and enough towels to splurge in luxury after a shower….
Transportation: the place is VERY well connected to all major destinations in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx. There are 6 subway lines within 4 minutes walk from the apartment: Express lines 2 and 3 take you to the Upper West Side along Broadway and then on 7th Ave to Time Square and Penn station (The main train station in NY). You can change at 14th st to the # 1 train to go to the new 9/11 Museums, to the southern tip of Manhattan and to the ferry to Staten Island and the Statue of Liberty. The A line takes you in 10 minutes nonstop from 125th st to Columbus Circle! and then along 8th Ave to Time square, to the new attraction - the High Line and to Washington Square and Soho. The D line is also an express line, one stop to Columbus circle, but then it goes along 6th Ave, to Rockefeller Plaza (and the Ice ring), to the MOMA ( the Museum of Modern Art), to the 5th Ave windows, to Bryant park (where you can change for R to go to Union Square), to China Town and to the Lower East Side. The C and B local lines go along Central Park West to the Museum of Natural History. Bus no M2 takes you on a very short ride along 5th Ave., to the Museum Row (Metropolitan Museum, Guggenheim Museum, Jewish Museum, City Museum, Frick Collection,..).
Harlem itself is amazing! - Great restaurants, Jazz clubs (in fancy bars and in underground cellars), very vivid! A feeling of a neighborhood but with an easy access to downtown. I shall leave in the apartment a list of my favorite places in the neighborhood- restaurants with quality food and good prices, fancy places, hidden gems and underground jazz clubs
We live one floor above but guests have a separate entrance and complete privacy. I will not communicate with the guests during their stay unless asked by them. But, I'll be more than happy to answer questions and give tips on NY and in particular on Harlem. I am always online.... Well, I do sleep..
