About the property

5 minute walk to Center of Lively Oak Bluffs and beach!

Martha's Vineyard is truly a magical vacation setting, and this cottage has all the charm of a fairy tale. As a Vineyard-er, I think September and October are THE best months to enjoy the Island--less crowded, you can get a table at the best restaurants, and the water is at its warmest! This cottage is a professionally-designed home with wraparound porch in Oak Bluffs Arts District. This classic Vineyard cottage is within stone's throw of beautiful Inkwell & State Beaches and in the center of restaurant and shop-filled Oak Bluffs. Recently featured on HGTV's Island Life, this cute home has been professionally renovated and newly winterized, with topnotch kitchen equipment and dining-ready kitchen, incl. all cookware, dishware, w dishwasher. Home has an outdoor shower, yard for outdoor dining, and gas grill. Two-spot parking. The cottage sleeps 6 in a pinch with two attractive formal bedrooms-one w queen bed, one with double trundle bed, and a new comfortable convertible queen-sized sofa in living room (living room door closes for privacy), and one single bed in small laundry room. Other amenities include: Flat screen television, internet w WiFi, newly renovated bath w claw foot tub plus shower, washer and dryer, and air conditioning in bedrooms-if desired. Two new bikes for use on Island. Very competitively priced.

Beautifully appointed and comfortable cottage in really wonderful location. Wonderful in Summer but also makes for an amazing Fall or Winter holiday getaway!

About kelly brilliant

I have gone to Martha's Vineyard for the past thirty-plus years, and fall in love with it again each time I come here! There is nothing quite like this Island for its beauty and the feeling of peacefulness (and fun!) it inspires. There is really no place in the world quite like it. Come and see for yourself! :)

kelly brilliant purchased this cottage in 2014

Why kelly brilliant chose Martha's Vineyard

My fiance and I fell in love with the uniquely Vineyard, particularly Oak Bluffs look and feel of this cottage. It is close to being a campground ( i.e. ginberbread-like) cottages, but about a 2 minute walk from the actual campgrounds, so you get a little more privacy, and breathing space, here. It was designed by a very talented interior designer, and it shows! It's a true vacation cottage in an "upscale style"--not any old house you'd find in the suburbs or anywhere USA. We loved that!

What makes this cottage unique

1) Proximity to Center of Oak Bluffs--fun activities for children, casual and fine dining, bars and pubs, great shops, and to beach! 5 min walk to beach, 7 min walk to town center

2) Walk-able to ferry--no need to bring your car, though 2 spot drive if you do!

3) 5 minute walk to Inkwell Beach!

4) Everything included in house--linens, sheets, bath and beach towels etc, even two bikes for use provided

5) Beautifully designed--special.

Great location in Oak Bluffs that is so close--within 5 mins. walk or less --beach, to ferry, to all restaurants, attractions, etc. On a nice quiet street in the Oak Bluff Arts District. The house has parking for up to two cars, but you do not have to have a car given the cottage's location.

Comfy and convenient cottage

  • 5 of 5

We felt like an islander staying in this cottage for a week in Oak Bluffs. We loved the preserved older charm of the house paired with the modern conveniences. The house has everything you need, from the well equipped kitchen to travel necessities such as umbrella, cooler, beach chairs and towels. Easy walk to Oak Bluffs center, restaurants, grocery store and the town beach. If you were traveling light you could walk to the house from the ferry. The outdoor shower was fun and the bikes were a great amenity. Host Kelly made sure we had all the info we needed for a great vacation. We would love to return!

Cozy Cottage - Lovely Location

  • 5 of 5

Having spent time on The Vineyard during my college years I knew location was going to be important returning to Oak Bluffs for the first time in 20 years for my honeymoon.

The location is perfect on a number of fronts. We arrived via Hyannis in to Oak Bluffs harbor and took the short walk up Dukes County Ave (10 mins max) from the harbor. Alternatively, if you come in via Woods Hole and the Steamship Authority, it too is only 10 minutes walk away. The house is a short 5 minute walk away from Circuit Avenue and the center of Oak Bluffs where you can do a grocery shop in the Old Reliable store or enjoy the numerous restaurants and bars. Additionally you are only a 5-10 minute walk from the Oak Bluffs beach depending which route you take. Alternatively, you can avail of the bikes available at the house and travel that little bit further to State beach on the way to Edgartown. If you run out of any groceries, you are only 3 minutes away from Tony's Market where you can top your groceries up or grab some beer or wine to enjoy at the house.

The house was very cosy. The kitchen is well finished with a large refrigerator/freezer to stock your groceries with enough utensils there to allow you to cook almost anything. There is also a large dishwasher available to save time with dishes. The livingroom was also spacious, however, my wife and I spent most of our time on the porch, with the candles lit, listening to the excellent vinyl collection, watching the world go by. We found the bedroom was comfortable and spacious as we used the spare room for our luggage etc.

I would highly recommend this house purely for it's location and for it's proximity to (a) the ferry terminals (b) the bars and restaurants on Circuit Avenue and (c) the beaches for families - and couples for that matter. As we are located in Europe, unfortunately MV is not on our doorstep, so when the time comes for my wife and I to return we will seriously consider using this house again.

We found the owner very polite and quick to respond to all and any of our queries as they arose.

Happy holidays,

Colin & Tracey.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Colin and Tracey! We too love the location of the cottage. Glad you were able to enjoy our record collection! Porch sitting is one of the joys of Oak Bluffs. Please come back when you are 'state side' again!

Affordable and Charming Cottage in Oak Bluffs

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I had a wonderful stay on Martha's Vineyard. It was a beautiful weekend and I recommend the island to anyone who's interested in a truly unique place with a distinct New England architectural heritage and unmatched natural beauty. The cottage was a perfect place to rest our heads and prepare for a long day of exploration. The property is located in Oak Bluffs, which is a town/village comprised of hundreds of Victorian style cottages, each unique in their own way. This cottage a little outside of town and situated next to an artist community that open the doors to their galleries on the weekends. The cottage a lovely outdoor shower, new kitchen, and comfortable rooms. Kelly was responsive and a good host. We didn't have any issues. Lastly, if you want beach front access this isn't the place for you. With that said, you can walk 5 minutes to Oak Bluffs beach....or if you prefer the island has a number of cab companies. Enjoy your stay!

P.S. If you have time and money I would recommend Outermost Inn for dinner and drinks. Its on the opposite side of the island near Gay Head beach but its well worth the trip.

Great Vinyard cottage for our family of 3!

  • 4 of 5

This cottage is centrally located in a great neighborhood. It is creatively decorated and fully equipped. The rooms were comfortable for our small family. The outdoor shower was a wonderful treat! The landscaping could be updated and the road was a bit busy at times. Would definitely recommend this vacation rental to those seeking a place to relax and unwind after a day of Vineyard fun!

Great location with quaint feel

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our visit to Marthas Vineyard and staying in this cottage home! It was walkable to shops and the bikes came in handy for a morning ride. Our group enjoyed trying the outdoor shower experience and listening to Beach Boys on the vinyl player. Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful home!
