About the property

5 minute walk to Center of Lively Oak Bluffs and beach!

Martha's Vineyard is truly a magical vacation setting, and this cottage has all the charm of a fairy tale. As a Vineyard-er, I think September and October are THE best months to enjoy the Island--less crowded, you can get a table at the best restaurants, and the water is at its warmest! This cottage is a professionally-designed home with wraparound porch in Oak Bluffs Arts District. This classic Vineyard cottage is within stone's throw of beautiful Inkwell & State Beaches and in the center of restaurant and shop-filled Oak Bluffs. Recently featured on HGTV's Island Life, this cute home has been professionally renovated and newly winterized, with topnotch kitchen equipment and dining-ready kitchen, incl. all cookware, dishware, w dishwasher. Home has an outdoor shower, yard for outdoor dining, and gas grill. Two-spot parking. The cottage sleeps 6 in a pinch with two attractive formal bedrooms-one w queen bed, one with double trundle bed, and a new comfortable convertible queen-sized sofa in living room (living room door closes for privacy), and one single bed in small laundry room. Other amenities include: Flat screen television, internet w WiFi, newly renovated bath w claw foot tub plus shower, washer and dryer, and air conditioning in bedrooms-if desired. Two new bikes for use on Island. Very competitively priced.

Beautifully appointed and comfortable cottage in really wonderful location. Wonderful in Summer but also makes for an amazing Fall or Winter holiday getaway!

About kelly brilliant

I have gone to Martha's Vineyard for the past thirty-plus years, and fall in love with it again each time I come here! There is nothing quite like this Island for its beauty and the feeling of peacefulness (and fun!) it inspires. There is really no place in the world quite like it. Come and see for yourself! :)

kelly brilliant purchased this cottage in 2014

Why kelly brilliant chose Martha's Vineyard

My fiance and I fell in love with the uniquely Vineyard, particularly Oak Bluffs look and feel of this cottage. It is close to being a campground ( i.e. ginberbread-like) cottages, but about a 2 minute walk from the actual campgrounds, so you get a little more privacy, and breathing space, here. It was designed by a very talented interior designer, and it shows! It's a true vacation cottage in an "upscale style"--not any old house you'd find in the suburbs or anywhere USA. We loved that!

What makes this cottage unique

1) Proximity to Center of Oak Bluffs--fun activities for children, casual and fine dining, bars and pubs, great shops, and to beach! 5 min walk to beach, 7 min walk to town center

2) Walk-able to ferry--no need to bring your car, though 2 spot drive if you do!

3) 5 minute walk to Inkwell Beach!

4) Everything included in house--linens, sheets, bath and beach towels etc, even two bikes for use provided

5) Beautifully designed--special.

Sweet little cottage

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here, it was so comfortable! We spent time cooking and playing cards in the kitchen and enjoyed drinking coffee or reading a book out on the porch. It was a quick walk to town or the beach, but having the two bikes was very convenient too. The cottage vibe is great, and clearly a lot of thought has been put into what visitors will need to make their stay both enjoyable and convenient. Best of all, Kelly was very responsive to questions both before and during our trip.

Not what I expected

  • 1 of 5

The pictures of the inside of the house are pretty accurate. I do believe if you are going to display a variety of glasses then they should be washed on occasion.! Sitting on the front porch you can't miss the pealing paint over your head or the abandoned house across the street. There are no photos of the back yard and now I know why. It was a mess. It looked as though No attempt was made to clean it up. We walked through ankle high weeds to use the outdoor shower which was right next to an abandoned building ( on the property) with " keep out" signs. We used the new shower inside once. but the shower curtains aren't fitted right and water was everywhere. By my standards the house was cluttered..but everyone's tastes are different. After talking to owner her response was "Island living is not for you" --that's a laugh because I have rented from VRBO many times on many islands-this was the first and only disappointment. Martha's Vineyard was delightful. So many beautiful nooks and crannies. So glad we had the opportunity to explore M.V. Just not happy with accommodations.

Owner's Response: Every one experiences one of these types of guests. Martha's Vineyard is not for everyone, and clearly it is not for someone who told me "they had seen it all after two days." This renter indicated to me that she was more comfortable in generic hotel-like settings. The cottage and then the Martha's Vineyard experience is not for this person. The porch will be completely repainted by Spring/Summer 2017. (Hers was the first complaint about porch.). The grounds are maintained--mowed, etc. throughout the year and had just been mowed before arrival of guest. The glass collection is well maintained. Both showers work well as i use them often. The cottage has been professionally designed and decorated. I doubt many others would describe it as "cluttered" as it has been carefully curated.

Walk to Oak Bluffs and beaches

  • 5 of 5

Sweet cottage has an inviting, wrap-around front porch, a private back yard, and a well-appointed kitchen. The rooms are cottage small yet there is a sense of spaciousness inside and surprisingly many nooks in the house to set yourself up with a book or laptop and a fesh cup of coffee or a drink. Nice outdoor shower too! We walked in just 10 minutes from the ferry yet the house is on a quiet side street. It was relaxing to just be at the cottage at times, and while also a quick walk to the beach access, the ocean views, coffee shops, restaurants and people-watching in O.B. whenever you want.

Ang Boston

  • 5 of 5

This charming little cottage is a perfect getaway place away from Boston. The living room has the vibe of the cottage living magazine with comfortable furniture and interior design of the island color. The kitchen is displayed with beautiful glassware and the stoves are chef-ready. The owners put a lot of work and thoughts making this cottage a home away from home for their renters. The bedrooms are incredibly comfy and meat. I slept so well while staying there.

It was truly a whimsical experience.

Convenient, quiet, different.

  • 3 of 5

Property had a nice kitchen and two usable bedrooms, third bedroom was down stairs with the washing machine and no door although we use this. Needed some decluttering and mouse traps were in the house which really freaked my wife out. BBQ was out of gas. Reasonable value for Martha's Vineyard and location was convenient.

Owner's Response: Hi actually the house is advertised as having two full bedrooms, with an additional pull out queen sofa in living room (that has a door that can be shut). We do have a small bed in laundry room, but we do not advertise that as a bedroom as it really isn't and can be used in a pinch, but.... There is gas in barbecue, it just needs to be lit by a match versus the starter. The grill actually works fine, just need to light it the old fashioned way. We had ta few mouse traps leftover from winter that we forgot to remove. We had a professional handle a winter small field mice issue last winter and have since removed traps, as we do not have any mice now! Apparently field mice try to find warmth in winter.

Adorable Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful stay at this cottage on the Vineyard. First of all we could simply walk from the ferry, taking a small detour though the gingerbread architecture of the old Campground. The two bikes they leave in the house were also put to good use. The cottage itself is extremely comfortable and charming- exactly the opposite of a bland hotel or condo. Every inch of space is put to good use so it feels much larger than it is. There is also a full modern kitchen and even a stocked bar. The glassware collection is to die for, and so is the outdoor shower. We loved the location, with the beach, town, restaurants and cafes all in walking distance and the other destinations on the island easily accessible. Can't wait to stay there again!

Great location in Oak Bluffs that is so close--within 5 mins. walk or less --beach, to ferry, to all restaurants, attractions, etc. On a nice quiet street in the Oak Bluff Arts District. The house has parking for up to two cars, but you do not have to have a car given the cottage's location.
