About Elizabeth and Jeff Leschensky

Jeff and Elizabeth live in Decorah, Iowa with their three kids. Jeff works for Luther College, and Elizabeth works for Mayo Clinic health system. Our 3 kids are middle school and high school aged. We all love the adventures Moose Lake offers, as well as the restorative peacefulness it provides for mind, body and soul!

Elizabeth and Jeff Leschensky purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Elizabeth and Jeff Leschensky chose Northwest

The Hayward area has been our 'Up North' retreat for years. Jeff enjoyed family vacations on Spider Lake when he was young, and Elizabeth ventured there in the winters to ski the Birkie since college years. Extended family has lived in Hayward, and also own a cabin on Moose Lake. We even got married in Hayward!

What makes this cabin unique

The Dancing Moose Cabin has an inviting feel with wood accents in each room, and a beautiful view out the large kitchen windows. The kitchen (where everyone usually gathers) has plenty of seating at the counter stools and the solid oak 'picnic' style table--great for meals as well as playing board games or puzzles. The 'reading nook' off of the kitchen offers a quiet get-away spot to enjoy a good book, good views, or a much needed nap!

A great family retreat!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin rental had everything a family could want! The owners couldn't have been more communicative and welcoming! My wife, two boys and I thoroughly enjoyed all this cabin had to offer. We took advantage of the many games and jigsaw puzzles provided, cooked s'mores in the fire pit, and caught fish and frogs down by the dock. The Dancing Moose provided a vacation environment no one in my family will forget. We can't say enough great things about this place!

thank you elisabeth & Jeff for a nice and unforgettable week in your cabin
