About Patricia Bongiorno
I have lived and operated the Dragonfly Inn for 10 plus years and love the Gloucester area - beautiful beaches, non-touristy casualness, great seafood and closeness to other interesting seacoast areas such as Manchester by the Sea, Newburyport, Salem and Cranes Beach in Ipswich. Having grown up on the seacoast "island" of Nahant, Gloucester in the summer satisfies my craving for the ocean. When craving city life, Boston is just a 45-minute drive or a 50 minute train ride away.
Patricia Bongiorno purchased this House in 2000
Why Patricia Bongiorno chose Gloucester
Great for family/friend gatherings with large fully equipped kitchen with patio & grill and large living/room dining room that seats 12 comfortably. Plenty of room to get away to relax and read a book or take a nap. Nice walking promenade along the Atlantic rocky coast with crashing waves just two blocks away.
What makes this House unique
While staying you are close to beaches, restaurants, etc. but you are in a very quiet retreat where you can really relax, listen to the waves, birds and peepers.

Roomy,good location,well equipped.
The house is old and needs some improvements, in bathrooms, dryer needs work maybe has lint build up in vent, several beds need new mattresses, water pressure not great in outdoor shower, door on pantry kept falling.once we sprayed outside the ticks disappeared! The dining room was wonderful and roomy for all of us to sit.
The house was built in 1912 and many updates have been done: 3 of the 4 bathrooms and the kitchen have been recently updated and 5 of the 6 mattresses are less than 2 years old.
The bifold door in kitchen was recently broken & thank you for reporting it as the previous guest did not & now that we are aware it is being repaired. Also dryer issue is a new problem and it is also being replaced. We appreciate it when guests report issuesso that they may be promptly addressed.
Very large rooms, plenty of space and many extras. Some work needs to be done
Peaceful, quiet location
Overall the place was perfect for a family with small children. We really didn't have to worry that they would mar anything. There is no air conditioning downstairs but they did have fans. There are window units upstairs and that was comfortable. Plenty of hot water, well stocked kitchen but the refrigerator was not very clean and the water filter was bad. There were lots of spiders in corners, the coffee pot was dirty but we found a percolater and a French press. The stove was finicky, had to light the burners. The beds were comfortable and the washer and dryer were good. The walk to the beach is long especially for small children and the parking fee is steep, $25, but you can park free after 3 and can always drop off. The nature trail next to the house is a glorified dog walk area, lots of manure, glass and trash.
Love this house!
What a beautiful paradise! The house is spacious and well equipped with every kitchen gadget and amenity to provide a comfortable and convenient vacation. We loved the fenced yard with badminton, comfortable patio furniture and raspberries and cherry tomatoes to pick. The neighborhood felt safe and quiet and was an easy walk to the ocean and a short bike ride to shops, restaurants and public beaches.
