Great place especially for a large group
Nice property in characterful surroundings
A wonderful place
A very well appointed home in fantastic and quiet grounds. We stayed with extended family including seven adults and four children in total. The facilities worked brilliantly for us, a warm swimming pool and ample seating both inside and out for enjoyable breakfasts, lunch and barbecues in the evening.
Carole was an excellent host, very friendly and helpful when we arrived and for any questions during the week.
There is much to do in the surrounding area and we can recommend La Promenade restaurant in nearby Le Petit-Pressigny for a special meal, canoeing on the beautiful Creuse river at Le Blanc, walking and cycling around the grounds of Château d'Azay-le-Ferron and the many Château and villages of la Brenne national park.
If wine is your thing it is worth a drive up to Chinon and the surrounding Loire-Anjou-Touraine national park. For good organic and biodynamic wines try visiting Pierre et Catherine Breton, Thierry et Jean-Marie Puzelat and François Plouzeau (who has a shop in Richelieu). Baudry-Dutour is also a good bet.
Could move here
I absolutely loved this place, if I could move there I would. It was so charming, peaceful and beautiful. Carole was so lovely and helpful before, during and after the holiday. There was nine of us altogether but the house and the grounds were so big that I never at any point felt I needed some space from the rest of the group.
The surrounding area was very quiet and was a great base to go exploring and then to come back to the peace. There were many days we stayed at the property, the kids (and adults) splashed about the pool and had lazy days, then coming together in the evening, sitting at the large outside table eating and drinking together as one big family
I cannot find anything to fault the property or its owner and would be delighted to return in an instant
Thank you very much Andy, you are welcome to move there anytime!!
We spent a lovely week here with a group of friends - 8 adults and 6 children, and there was plenty of space for everyone. The house is beautiful and full of character and the large garden was perfect for the kids to run around in. The swimming pool was plenty big enough for all of us, and Carole the owner even pumped in more warm water for the children to be able to spend longer in the pool. The house is equipped with everything you might need, and the large fridge and 2 dishwashers came in very handy, as did the washing machine and tumble dryer. The house is in a peaceful and rural location, however there is easy access to a number of pretty towns and chateaux nearby. We had a fabulous week here and were sad to leave!
Thank you very much Jo: it was a pleasure to have you here and I wish you to come back for a longer period!
Beautiful gite, perfectly located, stunning!!!!
We had a perfect holiday here. We were a large group of family and friends and had lots of space in this fantastic gite. If we wanted our own space there was an abundance of it to go have quiet time, and when we wanted to all gather as a group, inside or out, to eat or just relax this was just as easy.
The facilities are fabulous - we catered every day for all meals no problem even with the size of our group.
The gite is perfectly located - though 'away from it all' and peaceful there is a supermarket only 5mins away. We visited fabulous chateauxs, the Zoo, a lake for canoeing and much more, all within around 45mins drive easily.
The host could not have been more hopeful in recommending places and helping us book etc.
The photos do not do the place justice - it really is stunning!!!
We will definitely return in the next few years with our party which ranged from a 6 week old baby, through teenagers 16-18, 30s, 50s and good old nan too!!!
You will not be disappointed with the gite, host, location or facilities in any way - none of us were in the slightest!!!
Très bon accueil!

Hôte très discrète.

A Châtillon sur Indre, at the crossroads of lights: take the D13B road from La Croix St Saturnin. Drive about 6 km to the stop St Saturnin: 30 meters straight ahead and take the road towards "The Effes" (do not go to Clere du Bois). Roll 6t 1,700 meters to the next panel and take the first right after the descent and the small bridge. Up, welcome!
