Overview

About the property

5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms in the historic West End

Nestled among huge pines in the heart of the historic West End, this bright and spacious home has something to offer everyone in your group! Located within one block of the local bus route, enjoy quick and hassle-free access to downtown Aspen and free connection to all four ski mountains. The Music Tent and Aspen Institute are just three blocks away, as well as Main Street and O2 Yoga Studio. Downtown and everything you need is within 15 walking minutes! This incredible location is both quiet and convenient with plenty of parking.

5 bedrooms, 1 office with a futon and 3 bathrooms are spread throughout 3 floors, which provide excellent privacy from one age-group or family to the next. Settle in and cook your own meals in the newly remodeled kitchen, build a snowman or play a game of badmiton in the back yard, or invite company over to enjoy drinks on the sunny porch, this house has the feel of home when you are resting between adventures.

Here is the layout of the house: The top floor features a master bedroom (king) with a private deck and open-loft office. There is a full-size futon in the office/loft. The main floor includes one bathroom and two bedrooms (4 twins OR 2 twins and 1 king). The newly remodeled kitchen opens to the dining and living room, a great space for entertaining in front of the wood-burning fireplace, eating around the dining table or playing a game of cards. The lower level has 2 bedrooms, each with 2 twins, and 1 bathroom. The large TV/gameroom, also downstairs, has a new 50 inch flatscreen and a super cozy sectional; the perfect retreat for the 'kids' in your group. The laundry room is located just off the game room.

The property manager, Elly, is the owner's grandaughter and has grown up in Aspen. She is available to provide additional services, such as shuttling, and is just a phone call away for recommendations or advice on the local digs.

About Elly Harder

My grandparents, Jim and Della Harder, purchased this duplex in 1971 and have been escaping hot and humid Texas summers every year since.

Our family continues to gather in this home every year to enjoy the incredible Colorado sunshine and fresh mountain air! We love this amazing town, and the 'taste of Old Aspen' this duplex retains. The young and old among us cherish the incredible location of this propery; both its proximity to town and the endless opportunities to play in the Colorado Rockies. We are so thrilled to share it with other groups and families and hope you will enjoy all it has to offer, including its fun and funky 70's vibe!

Great home for a large family!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay! We had five adults and five kids - and there was plenty of room for everyone. The owner was flexible with our check in time and was available during the week if any problems arose - like a leaky dishwasher. The house had plenty of towels, sheets, and the supplies we needed for the week. The home is a 20 minute walk from downtown, five blocks from the bus to Buttermilk, Highlands, and Snowmass. Located in a quiet, peaceful setting.

Great house in a quiet neighborhood!

So many beds! The house was super clean and had great amenities. On a beautiful and quiet street in a great neighborhood. Not directly in town but a short walk and the bus stops two blocks away! Will definitely come back!

This great house was just perfect for our family-- just the right balance of cozy and spacious.

  • 5 of 5

We needed a house at the last minute and the owner could not have been nicer and more accommodating! She was responsive, attentive and thoughtful. The beds were so comfortable. Everything was clean and bright with great space and great light. Our three boys stayed downstairs and loved the space. We enjoyed the fireplace and wonderful living room, and the kitchen was well stocked with every amenity. Thank you so much for making our trip to Aspen so memorable!!!

Great, open house and walking distance to most

  • 5 of 5

This house served all our groups' needs. We were able to find it easily, and get in and acquainted with the set up. The 4 bedrooms with two twin beds each, and the one king suited use well. Having two living areas (main floor and basement) worked well, and allowed us to have some card games goign while others relaxed and watched some TV. The kitchen, although a bit small for three people cooking was fine. We would certainly stay here again! Elly was PROMPT with any questions we had.

Perfect space for large group, great location, great owner.

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic experience at the Harder House. The experience through VRBO was seamless and the owner was easy to contact and prompt with responses. The house was large (3 levels) and easily accommodated our party of 10 and came stocked with basic amenities such as condiments, coffee, firewood, laundry detergent. Location was great. Highly recommend!
