Here are the rules- no parties, no hosting or subleasing. No smoking, no pets. Any disturbance of the neighborhood peace (including the upstairs tenants) will result in the swift loss of your deposit.
A little about us and our practices- first, we do not 'hire out' the cleaning; we do it ourselves, because the only parties that really care if it's clean are you (the renter) and us. All our beds have premium quality memory foam mattresses. We use premium quality bath tissue. We have good relationships with our neighbors, and would like to keep it that way- any tenant that disturbs our neighbors in any way will lose his/her deposit.
I was born in LA, grew up in the OC, and have lived in CA and Hawaii my whole life. I enjoy surfing, yoga, cycling, and beer.
Scott Hamashige purchased this house in 2014
We love the neighborhood, and live down the street. When we saw this place (as an open house), we knew we had to have it! We love the neighborhood because we're close to all- beaches, downtown, north park, little italy- but we're without the problems those areas are known for- high rents, lots of noise, and difficult-to-impossible parking. We like the quiet here, and are always surprised at how close everything is. We're next to a large canyon (Tecolote ('owl' in spanish) Canyon) which isolates us from the 5 freeway and amtrak noise Bay Park residents have to endure, and we're far enough from the 163 and 8 freeways that we don't hear them either. Unlike OB, South Park, Point Loma, Banker's Hill and other neighborhoods, we have no jet 'fly over' noise.
We love the backyard deck- whether it's grilling on the Q, or drinking coffee out there in the am, we think the deck really helps guests enjoy the outdoor living california is known for..
My family stayed for 3 nights and we were very happy with accommodations. The apartment was really nice, clean, spacious, very quiet and convenient to everything. It is much larger than appears in the pictures. The apartment was very well equipped, with every conceivable kitchen appliance and very comfortable beds. WiFi worked well. Highly recommend to anyone travelling to San Diego. If you are looking for a quiet apartment that is close to all this place is for you.
Excellent alternative to hotel, very clean, well equipped and at a competitive price. You will feel immediately at home. The owners are very helpful and offer plenty of local suggestions and ideas. There are two apartments, both wonderful, ground floor with a spacious deck and backyard and the upstairs apartment with 2 decks and great views. Perfect chiice either for a single/couple travellers or a family with kids. Strongly recommended!
This is the second year we have rented Scott's place. We come for the senior men's Memorial Day baseball tournament.Last year we were on the first floor and it was great. This year we were on the second floor apartment and it also was great. The view of the ocean from the upstairs balcony is lovely. Great spot for coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at sunset. Unfortunately, it was overcast the entire time we were there. Hopefully some sunsets next year!
Both downstairs and upstairs are absolutely pristine. Grateful for such a clean place to stay.
We stayed here on a family vacation to San Diego. The location cannot be beat. Easy access to multiple highways. Close to shopping and grocery stores. The beds were extremely comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and the rental very clean. We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend it to other families. Thanks!
The apartment is clean and very quiet. There is an additional apartment on the second floor. Parking is challenging. The driveway holds 3 cars, but coordination is required with the guests in the other apartment, and street parking is minimal. Communication with the owner was terse and odd. When I called to ask for the address of the house upon arriving in San Diego, he said I was already there. What? Everything else about the apartment was very nice.
My wife and I stayed here for several days while moving our daughter into college. The flat was very clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable.
We stayed over the weekend and into the week, and it was always very quiet on the street - the bedroom is to the front of the house and it was no problem to sleep with the windows ajar.
Good wifi service and amenities.
Linda Vista ('beautiful view' in spanish) is an ethnically mixed neighborhood very centrally located to the best that SD has to offer- we're close to beaches, bays, downtown, little italy, balboa park, north park, old town- but without the high rental prices and difficult parking found in those areas.
