Private, stand-alone, meticulous and comfortable cottage
This private, beautiful, stand-alone meticulously clean and comfortable cottage has just been completely renovated and fully updated, including a brand new kitchen, and awaits your arrival. It’s a terrific location in the heart of Sausalito’s coveted sunny ‘banana belt’ and centrally located to town, the ferry and all that Sausalito has to offer. Walk the three blocks to Caledonia Street (the local's part of town), and enjoy fantastic restaurants, music, a movie theater, and shops. Not much further than Caledonia brings you to downtown Sausalito or to a sandy beach on the bay, where you can rent a kayak, paddleboard, or just enjoy the weather and water.
The Cottage is about 500 square feet with a very functional floor plan plus a spacious sunny, south-facing 250 square foot private deck perfect for a BBQ, entertaining and outdoors enjoyment. With a fresh and airy all white painted interior, lovely whitewashed gray hardwood floors, large floor to ceiling bay window, shingle exterior and galvanized farm lights, The Cottage has wonderful character throughout.
Fully furnished with all necessities including queen size bed, dining table and chairs, side tables, couch, rugs, dishware and much more all in an urban cottage style. It has one bedroom (with queen bed), a living/dining area and the newly renovated, light and airy kitchen is well equipped, including new appliances and microwave oven. The bathroom has been renovated and there is also a private laundry room with washer/dryer. Other features are a 32' LCD TV, digital cable and wireless Internet. The Cottage also comes with private off-street parking and plenty of street parking right in front. We’re told it oozes with charm and character.
This property is located in a single-family neighborhood of fine homes in the best weather area of Sausalito. The neighborhood is very peaceful, convenient, friendly and neighboring homes are charming and of unique design - some from the turn of the century. It is surrounded by trees, sits on the corner of Turney Street & Girard Avenue, and is set back for privacy but accessible and an easy walk to town.
The Sausalito ferry and main downtown area are a 10-15 walk and short 2-minute drive. There’s a bus stop located at the end of Turney Street, just 3 blocks away, taking you into San Francisco and beyond. Drive less than 3 minutes to Highway 101 and Golden Gate Bridge. Rodeo Beach is just 10 minutes away. Or venture to Point Reyes and Stinson Beach (15 miles). Muir Woods is 9 miles away, Napa Valley and Sonoma is an hour away! Or a car is optional since it is located a short walking distance to all conveniences.
I prefer monthly rentals, but will consider shorter terms in-between (minimum one week) our longer rentals. Please inquire after checking the calendar if you are looking for shorter terms and your dates are available.

I pinch myself everyday that I get to live in Sausalito. As friends say, it truly is a slice of heaven. I'm a native Californian (southern) but once I came to Northern CA there was no turning back. I love Sausalito but I also love to travel and experience new cultures. I'm also a serial entrepreneur and business consultant and from time to time find work experiences outside the Bay. By offering my home on vrbo it gives me more flexibility. I hope you'll find Sausalito as special as I do. I think you will.
Jennifer purchased this Cottage in 2003
Why Jennifer chose Sausalito
If you're looking for a magical, laid back, tranquil getaway, look no further. With a magical feeling and surrounded by trees you'll feel thousands of miles. Conveniently located in the heart of Sausalito and minutes from all that Sausalito offers. I pinch myself everyday that I get to live in Sausalito and can offer this wonderfully unique cottage oozing with character, comfort and tranquility. I hope you'll get to enjoy it and all that Sausalito provides.
What makes this Cottage unique
It's just breath-taking everywhere you walk or turn. The cottage is situated and surrounded by trees you can't help but take a big deep breath, relax and slow down. You'll love that even though you feel so far away from everything that you've close and convenient access to everything. It's a feeling of being in the woods without being in the woods. Plus I'm a real water person and get invigorated by being close to water so I love that I can literally be on the waterfront in less than 2 minutes walking. Hopefully I haven't forgotten my $5 bucks so I can pick up a coffee on the way home from my local favorite cafe Divino's.

Great stay in Sausalito
I stayed in this lovely cottage for a month. The place has been updated with nice touches and practical solutions for it's guests. The rooms are spacious and sunlit. The walk in closet is huge. While the kitchen is compact, I was able to cook anything I wanted without trouble. The location allows quick access to all highways and it is within walking distance to a market and many restaurants. It is also quiet and far away from the tourist hubub. The only advice I have is take some warm "lay around the house" clothes. The cottage is under a tree canopy and stays chilly. I used the fireplace/heater more often than I expected. Don't hesitate to stay, here, you will be glad you did.
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this adorable cottage for 11 weeks and were so happy with the accommodations, as well as the beautiful and friendly owner. If we had a question about anything, we felt so welcome to contact the owner.
Close to town, local restaurants & bars...all within walking distance. The library and a park are also within walking distance of the cottage, as is everything that you would need or want. A short, lovely stroll downtown takes you to the Ferry Terminal where you can go over to San Francisco for the day. Great kayaking and kayak rentals within 1/2 mile.
Richardton Bay is beautiful, serene, great for kayaking or stand-up paddling and an awesome place to walk along the docks where there are hundreds of sailboats to see.
We will definitely plan on staying here again, if we get invited back to work this summer. If not for work, just for the pleasure of being in this lovely "cottage by the bay."
The very best experience we have had when traveling for work or for pleasure.
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed staying in the cottage in Sausalito! It is in a great spot, totally cute and comfortable. Great host and all around great experience. Loved it!!
