A wonderful accommodation with the best location, view and comfort in Homer

You will love this place to stay in Homer. The Homer Roundhouse is a perfect lodging choice for a small family, couple or 4-5 adults. The HomerRoundhouse is very comfortable and convenient. It is across the small road from the beach and tucked into a quiet neighborhood in town. You get your own place with all the privacy you desire. Almost everything is in walking distance. Full kitchen with appliances and all things needed. It also has a large modern bathroom with a washer/dryer. Queen bed in bedroom with ladder-stairs to loft with queen memory pad and futon in living room. Walk the beach to Two Sisters Bakery. Walk to the Pratt Museum, Island and Oceans Visitor Center, art galleries and numerous cafes and restaurants all over town. The Homer Spit is only a 10 minute drive from the HomerRoundhouse.

And did I tell's the only yurt in the world with a bay window.

About John Bushell

John aka Johnny B. composes music and performs throughout the Northwest. His solo multi-media piano performance can be seen once a week during the summer months at the Homer Council on the Art Gallery which is walking distance from the Homer Roundhouse. Johnny B. constructed the Homer Roundhouse on the property next to his home in 2010.

Sharon Bushell has written numerous biographies for families of pioneer Alaskans. Her two published books are titled We Alaskans and We Alaskans Volume II. She also co-wrote a book about the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill.

John Bushell purchased this guest house in 2010

Why John Bushell chose Homer

Sharon and I decided to construct a small guest house in 2010. We have always been attracted to yurts and living in a round house. We purchased the kit and decided to make it the most comfortable and unique yurt possible. Unlike most yurts, our Homer Roundhouse has an enclosed spacious bathroom with loft overhead. The counter tile work and stone work behind the wood stove is one-of-a-kind.

What makes this guest house unique

There are so many things without exaggeration to love about the Homer Roundhouse. The quiet, the convenient location, the view, the comfort, and you can look up and see the stars at night from your bed. (depending on the time of year:))

Unique, clean, tastefully decorated, and perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 nights in Homer and in this wonderful yurt! It's very spacious with all necessary amenities. Perfect location in town. Our daughter enjoyed the loft. I was impressed how clean and tastefully decorated this place is. John was very welcoming too! Thank you!

Great Alaska experience

  • 5 of 5

While I live in Alaska I always enjoy staying at places a little out of the box. This yurt had everything we needed to have a very comfortable stay. While there was not an enclosed bedroom the area was still private with the screen provided. The bathroom was surprisingly large and the kitchen had everything we needed. I would defiantly stay here again in the future.

Say yes to the Yurt!

  • 5 of 5

A clean, affordable out of the ordinary place to stay. A short drive to the Spit and walking distance to great food and coffee. The beach was perfect for walking our dog. He loved it! The personalized welcome sign was a great touch. Thanks for sharing your neighborhood and guest yurt.

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great stay while my wife and I were in homer. Johnny B had great suggestions as to activities and where to eat. Best part was it was about a 10-15 minute walk to the main restaurants downtown and even closer to a couple of others. Don't miss taking a walk on the beach - amazing with the water so far out! Would highly recommend this property!

Car: not necessary

Because of the Homer Roundhouse in-town location, guests can enjoy almost everything Homer has to offer without a car. A favorite activity is to walk down the beach 1/3 mile to Two Sisters Bakery for morning coffee and treat. You can also walk to the numerous art galleries, Pratt Museum, Islands and Ocean Visitor Center plus numerous cafes and restaurants. For fishing and 'across-the-bay' experiences, the 10 minute drive to the Homer Spit is convenient and beautiful.
