Ryson Vacation Rentals

This is the worst rental property I have ever stayed at. I would have to say bare bones (this is not upscale by any means) is what comes to mind. If you plan on trying to get any amount of sleep while on your vacation I would not stay here. The beds are awful. My husband, who can sleep on anything was not able to sleep on any of these beds. The sleeper sofa that they count as another spot to put two people should not count at all. My little girl, who has no problem sleeping on the floor could not even sleep on this horrible excuse for a mattress. You could feel each and every spring in the mattress. When we arrived we noticed the floor was disgusting even though it had supposedly had just been professionally cleaned (I would want my money back if I had paid for that cleaning). The back door handle was broken which made trying to open the slider impossible to see the ocean view. The only tub they had did not work. The towel rack kept falling off if you put any type of towel on it. The electrical plugs did not work on one whole side of the living room. For the amount of money they ask for this rental it should have been way better. I would ask for my money back but they made it clear they give no kinds of refund after 24 hours of booking it. We left a day early because it was so bad. I hate throwing money away like that but I would rather go some where else and be able to enjoy our vacation and be able to sleep.
Good things about this condo: great location, great balcony view of the ocean, good size & layout.
Bad things about this condo: EVERY expense was spared with this place. In fact it was so blatant and in your face that it was insulting. Starting with the instructions sheet they give you after you check in: they are very adamant that you ONLY get one roll of toilet paper per bathroom and one roll of paper towels. When we got to the condo we only had 1 roll of TP for 2 bathrooms, & no paper towels. I had to drive all the way back to the leasing center to pick up the paper towels & TP, for which the front desk person gave me a huge negative attitude for what I thought was a very simple request.
There wasn't even a normal trash can in the kitchen, nor any trash bags. There was a tiny bathroom sized trash can though! So we had to use our left over grocery bags in that as our kitchen trash can for the weekend.
ALL of the furniture felt very cheap; beds were stiff, dining table and chairs were cheap/flimsy, and the cooking utensils were absolutely bare minimum in the kitchen.
When we first walked into the condo there was a repair man already inside. He was replacing the balcony door that was in disrepair.
We had friends who had rented an adjacent unit to ours (they also booked it on VRBO). Walking into their condo really highlighted just how bad this one is. Their pantry & fridge was stocked with miscellaneous leftovers, spices, condiments, sugar for coffee, all sorts of canned goods, & even a stocked liquor cabinet! The furniture was comfortable & usable. There were decorations. It felt like an actual home should feel. Not just a bland living space with the furnishings of an old dorm room.
Additionally, the fees this company charges are just ridiculous.
On top of the 'standard' VRBO service fee, this company charges a cleaning fee, an additional reservation fee, and an accidental damage fee. That's right, a fee for damages you likely won't create, but they charge you anyways.
And that cleaning fee!?! They probably don't have to pay a cleaner very much to clean the place up because on the welcome letter they threaten you with MULTIPLE fines for ANY sort of mess you might leave. You better do the dishes, you better remove all the trash, etc.
It's just ridiculous, and insulting.
I definitely do not recommend this place.
