This was my 2nd year staying at the Diamond Beach property. It's always so nice and clean. The staff is also nice. I'll be back next year the Lone Star Rally.
Diamond Beach amenities were pretty good. 7 of us (4 adults and 3 children age 6 and under). Everyone enjoyed the pool, lazy river and slide as well as the movie room and game rooms. The pool lounge chairs were nice and the staff were friendly (except for when I showed up at 2:15pm for check in, I was told I was early and they hadn't been notified I was doing an early check in; really 45 min early and I'm going to get grief?). There are 3 grills for free use by the pool, they are cheap two burner grills and we could only get one burner to work on each grill. The staff did let us then use one of the nicer grills for rent for free. As far as the unit (306), I was not impressed, but I'm sure all the units are this way. It was a 3 bedroom, but none of the bedrooms have a window as the only windows are nice but they are only in the living room/kitchen. The balconies are nice size and have glass railings, but unfortunately the glass is very dirty and when sitting on the chairs the view is very obstructed because of the dirty glass. Our particular unit was missing two of the shades for the windows so at night people could see in our kitchen if they were in the pool. Our unit was also missing the mirror in the master bath. unfortunately the mirror was replaced while we were there which I told the property manager it was an inconvenience as we are on vacation and didn't want anyone in our unit at 8:30 AM. I was told I had no option. Our unit also had a leak from the ceiling in the guest bathroom. I had to call maintenance and they came and said it was leaking condensate from the AC unit and they would come drain the pan in the morning (they did not). You should know toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, laundry detergent, dish soap, sponges, etc are NOT included. Also there is not enough shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc for 7-8 people. There is also no dining room table and no room for one. The units are pretty small. All in all, you are paying for the amenities, the units themselves feel small and was not the higher end type we were hoping for. It also seems the property may be transitioning management or something, so small things just seemed amiss (i.e. on the west end of the building you can see a massive outline of what used to be a sign that covered the entire building. It just looks bad. One last thing, access to the amenties are all on one side of the building where the higher unit #s are. We had to walk quite a bit each time.
