About Kevin and Doreen Sinnett
Doreen and I are both native Annapolitans, growing up sailing, fishing, and crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, MD. Married for 35 years, Doreen graduated from the University of Maryland School of Nursing and I graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy. Doreen, while juggling the schedules of our three active daughters, completed a successful career as a Registered Nurse. I was a career Naval Aviator, piloting the P-3 Orion patrol aircraft. While serving at Naval Air Station Brunswick, ME, we fell in love with the beautiful Rangeley Lakes Region and in 1983 purchased an old camp on the west shore of Rangeley Lake in Oquossoc. In 2006, at the age of 50, we fulfilled our dream and retired to the lake. I am a Registered Maine Guide (hunting, fishing, recreational), the Vice President of the Rangeley Region Guides and Sportsman’s Association, and a Director on the Rangeley Lakes Region Historical Society. We are active parishioners of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Parish, where Doreen volunteers as a Eucharistic Minister.

The suite was beautiful. The owners were very nice .
The property was beautiful. The sunset cruise was delightful.
My husband and I recently stayed at Osprey nest for 3 nights with our 4 and 6 year old. Mrs. Sinnet even let us use their twin air mattress for our 4 year old, as osprey's nest has one bed. We had a wonderful time exploring the area ! The Sinnet's were so accomadating and on the day of check out allowed us to stay past our check out time as they didn't have guest arriving! We enjoyed spending our evenings on the beautiful property cooking dinners on the grill with the view of the lake and mountains! We will be back for sure!
We stayed in Osprey's Nest for three nights and it was fabulous. It was like actually being in a nest. The view was beautiful. I can't say enough nice things about Kevin and Doreen, the owners of the property. They are very accommodating and are just very nice, interesting people that you would want to have as friends. The suite is beautifully decorated. The bed is very comfortable. They provide coffee, creamer, and sugar. We took a sunset cruise on their wooden boat and it was so much fun. Kevin is a great tour guide. He also does cruises on a pontoon boat and takes guided kayak tours. There is a fire pit where we enjoyed a fire one night and s'mores with a couple of the other guests. They have kayaks that you can use and a gas grill also. They have two other suites that are a little different but Osprey's Nest would always be our choice. It would be comfortable for days, weeks or even a month. There are stairs though so if you can't do stairs, Osprey's Nest is not the suite for you. We look forward to a return visit for a longer period of time.
Wonderful Stay in Osprey's Nest
Osprey's Nest is clean, spacious, private, with modern furnishings and a wonderful lake view balcony. The suite is well appointed and sits atop a boat house/garage and is separate from the main building. There is a long vertical stairway that leads up to the suite, but this was a non issue for me. Owners are wonderful people and run a cruise/kayak business on the side that does not interfere. The lake and surrounding area is gorgeous. Highly recommended if you are staying in the Rangeley area.
Thank you to Kevin & Doreen for sharing their little slice of heaven on Rangeley Lake. The Osprey Nest looks even better than the pictures. Quiet, comfy and just right for 2 people. Use of the kayaks was a great bonus. Don't miss Height of Land scenic overlook! Finally saw a Maine moose too! We'll be back, for sure.
