About the property

Directly on Lakefront, Walk to Shops and Dining, Outstanding Lake/Mtn Views

Our modern three bedroom, three bath, loft-style home is a roomy, comfortable condo in a beautiful building that sits directly on Shadow Mountain Lake at the edge of town of Grand Lake. You can see all of Shadow Mountain lake, Shadow Mountain and Mt. Baldy from the main balcony of our home.

This property is in a very quiet condo complex of retired couples and is not a party atmosphere. Rather, it is an excellent choice for a peaceful, relaxing getaway, where respecting neighbors' privacy and serenity is not an issue.

The two buildings of Shadow Mountain Yacht Club have a gorgeous, green front yard that beckons family get-togethers and games. Our home is beautiful, ultra comfortable ... Just a stone's throw from the shores of Shadow Mountain Lake and a short walk to the village of Grand Lake, Colorado.

This beautifully decorated, fully furnished mountain-lake home has two master suites with king-sized beds and a four bed bunk-room offering - plenty of room and luxury. Our home is filled with warm colors and a wood burning fireplace. The kitchen has beautiful wood cabinets filled with everything you could want for a service for 8, including wine glasses. The condo is on the third floor of the building and uses three short, enclosed stair runs (7 or 8 steps each) from the parking lot.

There are two coffee options - one, a Bunn, so you can quickly make a full pot of coffee, or the other, a Keurig, for the single cup specialty coffees or teas. A full set of pots and pans is available, as well as a crock pot, full size electric griddle, chili pot, two over sized cookie sheets, glassware and plastic ware for your leftovers.

The main floor features the living/great room with a wood-burning fireplace, beautiful leather sectional sofa, eating area with a large table and eight chairs, bar height counter opening into the kitchen with four bar stools and a large screen TV with internet and WIFI. The view from the sofa looking out through the sliding glass doors and windows to the balcony is absolutely gorgeous.

The main floor also has the master bedroom with a king-size bed, large closets, large dresser and a master bath with a beautiful slate tiled shower and separate vanity area. The master bedroom also has a private balcony looking out to the lake and Mt. Baldy.

The bunk room is also located on the main floor with four bunk beds, a large closet and super comfy Ralph Lauren comforters. Also on the main floor is a full bath with vanity, shower and tub.

A convenient 1st floor laundry room provides a washer and dryer and room for kicking off your shoes and hanging up coats and hats, skis and snowshoes.

The loft is on the second floor overlooking the great room. The loft has a leather sofa and television with DVD player. There is also a full bath off of the loft with a very large vanity area and separate slate tiled shower area. The second master bedroom is on this level with large closets for all of your needs. This 2nd master bedroom has an outstanding view of the lake and Mt. Baldy standing guard over Grand and Shadow Mountain Lakes.

About Chris Koch

We are Rick and Chris and are 30-year residents of Colorado. Chris has worked in county and municipal government and Rick has been with a Denver area advertising agency. We were high-school sweethearts who grew up in a small town in Central Iowa. We traded one great place to live for one even better. 30 years does not make a native, but we kind of feel like we are. We love Colorado!

Why Chris Koch chose Northwest

Our dream to own a property in Grand Lake began in 1984. Everything is relative and while the property values were much more affordable then compared to today, we were just not able to afford a vacation home at that time. But we held on to our dream for 30 years and now it has happened. So while we are new owners, we are planning to spend a lot of our retirement years enjoying our lakeside dream but until then - we are happy to offer this comfortable property to you!

What makes this condo unique

Our decision to buy this particular home was primarily due to the spectacular mountain and lake vistas available from the main balcony and the private master suite balcony. And the place is just so darn comfortable. Two king-sized master suites... each have awesome views... and the building has a giant 'front yard' with thick, green grass waiting for outdoor fun from bocce ball to croquet. It's our little paradise and we hope you will feel the same way.

Car: recommended

In the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Grand Lake is the deepest natural lake in Colorado. With plenty of public docks, a swim beach, shopping, dining, live entertainment, activities in the city park including weekly family Bingo - Grand Lake Colorado is the quaint and quintessential mountain village.

Boardwalk storefronts pay homage to Grand Lake's western heritage. Shops, restaurants, and pubs line the main street and you just might find a horse or two 'parked' next to your car! Grand Lake comes to life at night with live entertainment at the local saloons.

Sunbathing to boat rentals ... The sandy beach at Grand Lake is a throwback to private resorts in the 40's. The kids will love it. And so will you!

Bring your boat or rent anything from canoes to kayaks to family-sized pontoon boats. The town's public docks make it easy to tie up and go into town for a few hours. Then it's back on the water for skiing, tubing or exploring every inch of shoreline.

Winter creates a special wonderland. Grand Lake is the 'Snowmobile Capital of Colorado' and that means over 125 miles of groomed trails to explore. Enjoy snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowshoeing and more.

And just a couple of miles to the north is the west entrance to one of the nation's most spectacular national parks - the legendary Rocky Mountain National Park. Celebrating its 100 year anniversary, the park offers 350 miles of hiking and back-packing trails, 150 lakes and 476 miles of creeks and streams that feature Rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout, Mackinaw and Kokanee.

Whether fishing or hiking, the views in Rocky Mountain National Park are breathtaking - a feast for the eyes. With some of the most inspirational scenery anywhere in the world, the marvels of nature are yours at every step. A photographer's dream!

Winter Park Resort, Steamboat Springs, Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Crested Butte, even Vail and Aspen - some of the greatest skiing in the world are all within 2 hours from Grand Lake.

Live theater? How about a 10 minute stroll to Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater bringing Broadway musical hits from the Sound of Music to Footloose to the center stage in Grand Lake.

Upscale, Lakefront Condo. Beautiful Views!! Easy walk to Grand Lake
average rating of 4.75 based on 4 reviews

Great view, want to stay here again!!

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family has vacationed in Colorado every summer for years but we had never been to Grand Lake until this past August! Loved the town, the lake, the proximity to RMNP and the condo itself couldn't have been more perfect! It was so nicely furnished, well-appointed (the owners have thought of everything you might need and already had it there) and so CLEAN (very important to us)!!! We felt very much at home and loved sitting on the porch looking over the lake. A quiet and beautiful complex! We would definitely stay there again. Absolutely wonderful condo and the Kochs (owners) were so great and easy to work with!

Great place in the winter, too!

We stayed at this condo over the long MLK weekend to go snowshoeing. It is fantastic...comfortable, nicely furnished, well-maintained, easy to get to and very close to wonderful hiking/snowshoeing trails in Rocky Mountain National Park. We could watch the snowmobiles glide across the lake and ice fishermen set up their enclosures. A few inches of fresh snow made everything look beautiful. We would love to come back in the summer!

Great place & views

  • 4 of 5

This condo was very nice, we felt right at home. Roomy and great views of the lake. It was especially nice touch to have a few essentials stocked. This place is perfectly situated so it is an easy jump over to the town of Grand Lake or Rocky Mountain National Park. We would definitely book this place for our next trip.

This is simply a great place!

The Village of Grand Lake is so quaint ... a throwback to the old west with board walks and small town charm. This condo was soooo nice. Comfy, plenty of room, very nice decor and watching the sunrise over the mountains and lake was spectacular. A definite return for us!
