Great location

My wife and I stayed in this unit for a week. The location of this condo across the street from the beach was its best feature. You can walk down the beach about 2 kilometers to view the harbor seal rookery, or walk a few blocks up the beach to the coastal wetland park trails, or easily walk up to the center of Carpinteria. It is a beautiful area.

The condo itself was adequate, but was disappointing in a number of ways. We were in a corner unit on the first floor next to the outside stairs used by people on the second floor. There was also a hose for washing off beach sand right outside the unit. So there was less privacy than I would have hoped. It was nice to have a patio, but since you are right on the street and in the corner unit, there was again a lack of privacy. Also, the bedroom windows overlooked the patio of the unit next door, which was odd.

The kitchen was not adequately stocked if cooking for 1 or 2 people. There were no small pots or pans and no measuring cups for small portions. (Ironically, the coffee cups were so small that I was forced to buy a coffee mug for use during my stay.) There were 2 half-sized refrigerators, a half-sized freezer and a separate, portable oven about the size of a large microwave. It was one of the oddest kitchen layouts I have experienced.

As I said, this is a great location and there are many condos along the beach in this same area. I have a feeling they are all about the same, but if I were to return to this area, I would try to get a condo on the top floor and not directly on Sandyland Road.

Owner's Response: Hi Andy! I am concerned that possibly you did not find the drawers with the pots and pans and mugs? This is wonderfully designed space saving kitchen that is without a doubt amazing with cabinet space for the size but perhaps you missed some of the hidden drawers that house all of these wonderful goodies the owners provide? Every inch was well thought out in this condo to make sure there was plenty of counter space and room instead of unnecessary bulky appliances vacationers rarely use. This unit has one of the few larger front patios with south facing beach side sun which many guests love. Yes, we are part of a larger complex (all of Sandyland area is) much like if you were to stay in a resort however with the comforts of home by having a kitchen & living room with large patio, the amenities a resort with heated pool and spa and rates that not even the Best Western can come close to! And we are right across the street from the beach! It's a treasured spot that all of our "extended vacation rental family" comes back to year after year.

Great location - just steps to the beach & great restaurants!

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights over President's Day weekend in February. The reservation process was seamless and the email/text replies to all questions I had were responded to almost instantly by Tiffany, the property representative. The unit was perfect for the 2 of us with a well-appointed kitchen, beautiful bathroom, comfortable bedroom and spacious living/dining room. The entire condo was updated with excellent lighting, modern and very functional. All while being cozy at the same time! Unfortunately the weather was uncooperative - it rained all 4 days of our stay, so we didn't get a chance to bask in the sunshine on the adorable patio. Beach access is literally steps away and had the weather been sunny and warm (which it usually is!) we would have taken long walks on the endless beach! Parking was no problem at all and was never an issue. Carpinteria is a fantastic town with great restaurants and shops all very reasonably priced. The condo is a short walk to the Palms and Giovanni's for dinner (and local brews & wine) and Jack's and the Worker Bee Café for breakfast. We enjoyed meals at all of these establishments and experienced top notch service and cuisine! My husband and I would definitely stay at this property again and we highly recommend it!

Well then again, it is beautiful year round but surreal during these months. So glad you enjoyed the wonderful interior of this fabulously redone unit! Small but well-appointed

The property is in a good location, although there are buildings and large sand dunes that block any ocean view. It is very well-appointed with everything you need, although the space was smaller than it looked in pictures. Also good to know in advance that there is no central air/heat, just wall heaters. Cute area at a good price.

Yes, in the winter for about 3 months they put up a sand berm to protect the city from the potential swells and remove it completely in the early spring. Our photo is taken right from the living room so you can see how it looks 9 months a year. Yes, we are not oceanfront which allows us to have a wonderful spacious private patio with cool ocean breezes and wonderful heated pool right at our complex.

Great place to hang out

Cute Beach Condo

We loved staying at this condo during Spring Break! (So much that we are staying again March 2017) My husband and two young daughters fit perfectly! The condo was clean (awesome remodled bathroom )and very quiet. The location is so convenient...you can actually see the beach water from the patio! Speaking of patio, we loved that too. If my girls had to pick their favorite things, they would say the pool and spa. And, of course, walking to Robitaille's and The Spot!
