About Dana Cross

My parents originally bought a place on the next street south in the early 70,s as a winter retreat.

Over the years the whole family used it for escape from the Ohio cold and as a relaxing getaway. We all loved the good fishing and shrimping as well as exploring the many islands by boat.

By 1980 my parents had retired and built a house on Randle Ave just down the street. By 1983 my whole family had migrated to Florida. (I have brothers in Deland area and Sanford). In 1993 My wife and I decided to buy the property as a weekend fishing and getaway as by that time my job required a lot of travel and stress. My wife handled both buying and placing a new double wide on the lot as my job kept me on the road. It became her playhouse as she selected furnishings. The place became the winter home for her Father for several years and was used by many of our extended family.

Being just down the street from my parents allowed us to check on them as age caught up with them. Nearly every weekend we enjoyed the peaceful beauty of the area. Being within sight of the water always seemed to relax us both.

Now that my Parents are gone and we are more focused on spending time with the grandchildren, we have decided to share our waterfront pleasure with others. VRBO seems the best way to share.

A great place to just stay and go boating to relax or fish if you know the local waters. The house is clean and has everything you need. This was a return trip for us and it is a perfect local getaway..

Waterfront Relaxation!

  • 5 of 5

Your home was absolutely wonderful, on the canal, we watched the manatees, beautiful breeze. We enjoyed ourselves and it felt just like home, you thought of anything someone would need, down to local menus. The

home is spacious, clean, and was a wonderful fishing time for my husbands's birthday. Boat ramp was great, easy on & off, waterfront deck very spacious and shaded nicely. We took a ride to Turtle Mound/Eldora and played tourist and went through the house tour and information center. We can not wait to come again when the weather is cooler. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy the peace and quiet of your lovely home!

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

This house was so clean and neat. Close to everything, shopping, restaurants, the beach and best of all water, Mosquito Lagoon, Haulover Canal and Ponce Inlet. This place was quiet, peaceful and very relaxing. There were manatees in the canal directly behind the house. It was a very safe secure place to keep our boat in the water. I must say this was a get a way for my husband’s birthday and we could not have asked for a more perfect spot for us. We love the water and fishing and it was the best vacation we have ever had. I really want to thank the husband and wife that manage the rental. They were very accommodating and were on top of every need. Thank you for being on top of everything. I know we will recommend this rental to our friends and family and we look forward to staying here again and again. I cannot think of another place I would rather go for a short get a way, a vacation or even a weekend.

Just what the doctor ordered

  • 5 of 5

The house was very warm, cozy, and most of all very clean. Me and my family had a great time. Our neighbors were kind enough to lend us shrimp dipping nets. What a place to be. Absolutely loved everything about it. Can't wait to go back.

Two Thumbs Up

  • 5 of 5

My self and 9 other young adults stayed here during bike week. This rental is in a quiet neighborhood on a beautiful canal with very friendly neighbors! It was a very short drive to the beach and other busy attractions such as the Daytona pier. It was a perfect escape from our snowy weather up north. The dock was beautiful and the house was very clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
