A wonderful weekend

What a great condo, with fabulous amenities! The condo is located in St James Plantation a private community just minutes away from Oak Island and Southport. We thoroughly enjoyed having access to the beach front pool, private beach parking and enjoyed a drink at the marina on site! Gerry was great to work with and we would stay here again!

Lovely Home

Thanks Gerry for sharing your home with us. It was perfect for our visit to Oak Island. Your home was everything as it was stated in the description. To anyone who is wanting a place that is near the beach but not on the beach this is your place. The pool was great both on the property and the one at the beach. Parking at the beach was not an issue with the private parking lot they have. The condo has everything you need. Gerry was gracious host and if you have any questions or problems he is right on it. (We had a key problem for the pool and it was corrected immediately). When we come back to Oak Island we will know where to stay (if it is available). We highly recommend Gerrys home. Again Gerry thanks!!!!!!

Safe & Clean

The owner is wonderful to deal with! Straight forward and expects his home to be treated with the respect it clearly deserves. The condo is emaculately clean and has all the amenities of home. Would rent again!

Great property but not landlord

The condo itself was great. Comfortable, great location and nicely appointed. Arrived and condo was was not cleaned from previous renters. Called landlord and cleaning service. Service arrived to clean but couldn't use the condo until evening. TV in living room was not working and called landlord to let him know and he could not help. TV's in two bedrooms were fine. After renting landlord informed us he was charging us to reprogram the remote even though we had informed him it wasn't working initially. Then told us two remotes were missing and we would have to pay. Informed him all remotes were there when left. Later they found the remotes and told us we still had to pay as the cleaning service inadvertently put them through the wash with the linens. Needless to say we are not getting our full damage deposit back. So even though the condo was comfortable and we enjoyed the stay, despite not being able to occupy right away and TV not working in living room, be careful that you cover yourself for any hiccups. Very poor customer service. Would not recommend to friends/relatives because of below par customer relations.

Owner's Response: In response, it was totally my fault that the condo was not cleaned. Initially, they rented the condo for 4 days. They then wanted to stay 3 days earlier and I did not inform the cleaning service of this change. Once I was notified by the renters I called my cleaning person who came out immediately and cleaned the entire condo on their 1st day of arrival. The renters then called to tell me they could not get the TV in the main unit to work. They couldnt get it to work because they were using the TV remote not the cable remote. Upon departure my cleaning person had it working in less than 2 minutes using the proper remote. I was then informed by both my manager and cleaning service that the other 2 remotes in the bedrooms were missing.Later, both remotes were found in the sheets that were just washed. How could 2 remotes from different bedrooms end up in the wash machine room as all used sheets and linens were put in there by the renters before they left. I hope this was just a coincidence and not intentional. I and the renters split the cost that I was charged. I totally disagree this was bad customer service as I pride myself on making sure my guests get the care and satisfaction they expect.
